You can shoot the Moon, so that's kind of a moonshot.

Nice music! It's a neat little game, I made it to wave 19. I have to say that I didn't find a use for the moon shield, as everything seems to be moving too quickly to use it well. The moon shot ability is situational at best, as you only need to point the moon in the direction of the enemy and they'll slam into it. It only comes in useful if they're just out of reach and there's another enemy on the screen.
All in all, a decent entry. Had fun :)
Thanks for playing it! The shield was added at last to have a bit of variety, it wasn't my greatest idea haha.
I like your aesthetic and your take on the theme... literally using the moon as something you shoot. Was easy to understand and play and I also liked the music. Nice job!
Thanks for playing it and for your comments, I'm glad you liked it!
I like the visual facts where the Earth was getting damaged every time the enemy ran into it, overall good game.
Thanks! That one was a last minute addition, glad you liked it!
Heh- that was fun. Made it to 14 waves before, alas, the earth was doomed. Was a cool mechanic; and the enemies were oddly cute :D
Hahaha, thanks for playing it!
17 waves. Simple yet genius game. The sound pushes me to defend further. Those little green flappy things are so mean. Graphics overall are cool and fit the entire theme very well. Also the introduction story is great. Not too much and not too short. Really cool game ;)
Thanks! November was quite a busy month so I tried to keep the scope as tight as possible. I'm really happy with the result.
Survived 10 waves. Fun game! Maybe a bit more movement from the center of the screen where the enemies spawn from would be nice. Music was really catchy as well. Good job.
Thanks! I think I could make changes on the orbit every few waves, that could add a lot of dynamism.
This doesn't fit on my screen.
It's pretty fun, interesting mechanics. It's getting somewhat repetitive after a while though.
Yeah, I need to check that, for some reason the responsive template I used is not that responsive :(
Thanks for playing it!
Gameplay: I liked how the moon always killed the enemies not just when you attacked or shielded. I know you've heard this a lot but upgrades/unlockables (something to add health and maybe another attack/defense) would help a lot.
Graphics: I liked the planet and the enemy art. The art all fit with the game.
Audio: The music and SFX were good.
Innovation: There weren't many games with mechanics like this.
Theme: You can shoot the Moon, so that's kind of a moonshot.
Overall: Good game! Could use more work post-jam.
Can you try (and review) my game?
Thanks for playing it and for the real detailed feedback, I appreciate it a lot!
the graphics were blinding and it would be cool if the farther you got you unlocked power ups of some sort but overall it was fun
Thanks for playing it! Power ups were sadly left out of scope, but I'll definitely add some of them for a post jam version.
Cool start for a really well done game!
Thanks! :D
Fun game, loved the wave system as with my game haha. Some tips, having more control over the character (maybe with a binary star system) could be a lot of fun. Having upgrades and new levels would really add the game's design.
I got to wave 29, I liked some of the strategy of shooting them moon and using shield as an AOE attack. Some combos like that for upgrades would be a lot of fun!
Hey, thanks for your comments!
Yeah, I'm still thinking how to add more content for a post jam version, so more planets is a good idea. And upgrades (alongside with a real sense of progression) was sadly out of scope for the jam, so I'll think about a few things around that too.
Once again, thanks for playing it :)
This was an interesting take on the theme, literally. We are actually shooting the moon. I like it. I was also able to make a shield shoot combo, which was cool.
One point I think could make the game easier, is to have more (white) space on the top and bottom part of the game. We don’t see enemies that come from above/below when we are on the top/bottom part of the screen.
It is difficult to do everything within a month. I think you have done a good job with the current time limit. Cheers~
Yeah, the camera perspective and the free space was kind of a problem since the beginning, I still need to figure it out.
Thanks for playing it and your comments, it's great to have such feedback!
Hey this game was really well done! Sometimes the enemies did spawn a bit unfair but it has really enjoyable gameplay! Please find my video review below:
28:15 Moonshot
Thanks for playing, commenting and the stream! It's pretty interesting to see a stranger playing it hah.
Most of the fine tuning for the difficulty level and progression sense was out of the scope sadly, I'll try to get a post jam version with all these feedback.
Very good arcade! Instead of moonshot, I think “Moonpunch” is more suitable as a name haha since I feel like I’m punching those monsters!! Superb!
Thanks for playing it! That's actually a great name, I didn't have enough time to think one hahaha.
Solid game and fits the theme really well. You executed everything you set out to do. A simple mechanic, minimal UI, and easy to distinguish visuals. Great work! Maybe the only improvement that can be made are small incremental adjustments to balance it a tiny bit better. I did feel like the moon shooting distance was a bit short.
Thanks a lot! I tried to keep a small scope in order to make it that way. Sadly I didn't have enough time for play testing and fine tuning (for the shooting distance for example, as you said), but that will come on a post jam version for sure.
Again, thanks!
Nice game!
I'm on German keyboard layout, so Z and Y are swapped for me. Adding same functionality to Y as Z would be nice :) But it still worked fine.
The moon shooting distance felt a bit too short, I'd like to see how the duration of pressing the shoot button makes the moon travel further.
Thanks for playing it!
I'm thinking about adding a custom controller mapping for the post jam version (which is also something I would like to be more careful on next jams).
Also I need to review the shooting distance, sadly I didn't have enough time to do too much play testing so that distance was pretty much the first one I tried and didn't suck hah.
Once again, thanks for playing it!
good fun game and well made
GGs
Thank you very much!
Love the concept and the graphics! I found myself wanting to be able to shoot the moon farther. I think a little "juice" on enemy deaths would go a long way as well.
Thanks! I didn't have enough time for play testing and small tuning, so yeah, it could definitely work going farther.
My biggest fear is to allow the player to push it too far to kill an enemy but then be helpless against closer ones (but that could even be a good choice to put on the player side!).
Anyway, thanks again for your comments!
Fun to play. Shooting the moon felt nice. Was kinda hard with a touch pad. But that is on me for playing with one I think.
Thanks for playing it! I actually developed it with a touchpad so kind off get used to it, but it's a really good point that I should check for a post jam version.
Nice twist in the theme and the tower defense genre, the graphics and music are nice, don't know how this could be extended, but you're onto something. Good work!
Thanks for playing it!
I'm still thinking about a few options to make it a bit bigger (alongside with some of the feedback from here) for a post jam version.
