Good game concept and well executed result, it’s fun to play. I’m not sure how it fits the “BUG” theme for Game Off but the game graphics are really top notch!

DAMMIT I clicked away before entering my highscore! It was a really enjoyable game! The audio and art was excellent! I do wish there was more variety and I did miss the bug theme! But other than that it was excellent!

Awesome game. the music is glorious and I love the Nixie tube score counter and art in general. I totally clutched the boss going in with two HP left and not getting hit once! Score: 801 M.

Awesome work! :D

Nice game! I reach the final boss but end up kill.  I love the arcade style of your game. Fun to play indeed! The leaderboard was really cool also.

Well done!

Very fun! I almost killed the last boss :)

What an absolute joy of a game! Took me back to a game I used to play when mobile games first were a thing (im talking snake days, not smartphone) and a similar concept. The artwork is just insanely cool, love the arcade vibes. perfectly executed!

Very cool game! I used to play gradius and this gave me some nostalgic vibes. The art is very well done too, love the retro dithering.

Decent music and arts. Could add a little inertia/momentum to the movement to give a better feeling when controlling  the ship and make it even more difficult.
I placed 179th though so I'm mad about it (just kidding).
Amazing game overall!

keep trying! someone needs to dethrone ZEBULAN, he must be stopped!

Wow, what a beautiful game! Music and graphics are marvelous!
It took me a few attempts but it was pretty fun to play

Congratulations! :D

Nice game, liked the music and overall very polished! My only suggestion would be to add a bit more variation for the enemies.

Solid game!

I didn't beat it though so take my average gamer criteque with a pinch of salt.

I think the main positives that I took from this game is the art and sound. your choices of colour are clear and contrast well. You're selling yourself short with the screen shots, the game at its most chaotic still maintains a high level of clarity which is a great thing in a side scrolling shooter. The music is eclectic and suits that retro outrun arcade aesthetic so well. I also love that home page and the encorperation of high scores, go ZEBULAN (who will userp this king?).  I also think your details in your sprites shows great artistic chops. The dithering effects in the shields deserves a chefs kiss.

My main critiques is the scaling / ramping of certain gameplay elemets. I had maxed upgrades at round 2 and on round 3 didn't care about the other upgrades (but i assume they gave points which is definitely appealing to those pro gamers out there). I also felt that the new enemy introduction was uninteresting. I don't mind the new enemies being powerful slime splitting big versions of the small ones but there was no extra strategy or anything i had to find to defeat them. I think the game becomes post round 2 just becomes more difficult because more enemy which is a little lack luster. That being said it's excusable because that is the arcade sort of thing also.

The highlight for me for sure is that god dang track. I've been listening to it the whole time I wrote this. Fantastic!

Glad to hear you loved it! and ZEBULAN is my art guy, all that time playtesting has gotten him VERY good at the game ;)

Hi, I'm glad you liked the game and I'm especially grateful that you liked the soundtrack! It is available on youtube, in case you want to listen casually (if you search Infinity Break Sountrack it will appear)

The game looks, feels and sounds very polished.

First of all, the colour palette feels very retro-like and fits the gameplay well. Enemies have anticipation animations, which I've never really seen for this kind of game. Projectiles and shields also have varying sprites depending on level, which is nice. The only thing that feels slightly off is that the boss' projectile disappears immediately after hitting the player.

Gameplay-wise, it's a straightforward shooter. Instructions are displayed clearly, UI is very simple and clean. Having a leaderboard is a fitting addition to making it feel even more retro-like. Making the upgrades affect the shot pattern is also pretty cool. I personally think that the hitbox of the player is a little too big, making it difficult to dodge projectile sometimes, but that's just to nitpick.

As for audio, both the music and sound effects fit the aesthetic well. There is proper feedback on pretty much everything that is happening on screen. Not sure if I'm imagining things, but I think the transition from normal theme to boss theme is also nicely done.  One thing that I noticed is that there is no death SFX for enemies. Having that might make it more satisfying when killing them.

Definitely a fun game. I would love to know how this relates to the theme. Still, great job!

Great game, it is very well polished on every aspects and I loved the music !

At first, it seems we're getting upgrades really fast, but the game's answer in terms of difficulty is really good and it's still definitely losable haha. I think this has the potential to scale with enemy diversity.

For the replayability, maybe we spend too much time in-between waves with the text intro ? Other than that, it felt really nice !

You know what's really fun about this kind of game? Getting transported right back to when arcades couldn't be held on your desktop computer. When this kind of quality felt "Valuable" in the sense that children value quarters, by their quantity not by their total economic value in or out of an arcade. There are times when my shots feel a little weak, but I can absolutely forgive it for the movement and clear designs. Hands down some of the best and most immersive sprites I've seen yet for this game jam. Infinity Break in name alone really does show the level of dedication to this kind of game.

Great artwork and animations. I love this type of Gradius like genre, and this is a fresh take on it. The polish is 10/10 on this game.

Nice game! Loved the Phelippe’s soundtrack and the game overall polish!

I have some feedback’s, I wish a little bit more of enemy variation, some player sprite animation and some kind of situation to make me use more the missiles.

But solid game, curious to see more of it.

Thanks for the feedback, Since this was originally made for a palette jam, we were pretty limited in the way of enemy options, as everything can only use 8 colors total :)

Thanks Rafael! Valeu!
