Wow these critics really don't like my stuff, huh? What do you mean sentient killer robots don't belong in fantasy movies?!
I quite enjoyed this game, it turned in to a bit of a debt simulator though! I liked the art too!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the critics are tough! xD
Ahh yes comedies really should have comedic reliefs
Good call. ;) Too bad Penelope draged the movie down!
Could only pay for 2 actors, ended up 13, 000 in debt. New record..?
Great game, was so in debt at the end, never climbed out
Thanks for playing! :)
Great aesthetics! Very calming setting!
I was a bit confused in the beginning, but after doing 2-3 movies, I just automatically kept trying for 5 stars but never got more than 2 :(
The realism of retiring with $3000 haha
Thank you! :D Aw, yes, they are not easily satisfied. x)
Nice cliche game, the only thing is finding a pattern to best seller title is too difficult, just like the real world.
Thank you for playing!
"This is truly the end of Cinema." Dang. This is a great take on cliché. Could not satisfy the critics ever! I love the scene and animation.
Thank you!
Critics are the worst... only one movie with two stars... I like the pace of the game, and the music and sounds are really nice. I also would like more feedback about the actors, if they are getting better actors or are better at doing some kind of movies.
Thanks for playing! Yes, the actors may or may not be especially suitable for a specific genre. This is displayed when hovering over their portrait on the notice-board. They need to have tried a genre to display it though. It's a mechanic we didn't manage to make obvious in time. ^^
Interesting! I was a bit confused on how to manage the roles that will fit the themes, but I like the idea of us being scriptwriters that actually have to come up with titles and stuff!
Thanks for playing!
I have always been fond of Game Dev Tycoon style games so I had a great time with the concept of you guessing which role is the most cliché to put the actor on for the specific movie genre even if it is only a simple and short gameplay loop. Since even I (having experience with such games) had a difficult time understanding what would optimize ratings I can immagine a typical player being lost very soon without a lot of tutorials but overall great submission.
Thank you for playing! Yes, Game Dev Tycoon was a huge inspiration for this project. :) I agree with your feedback, fell into the trap of "forgetting good tutorials" again. ;)
really funny, gives a lot of player freedom leading to great gameplay, one of my favorites so far.
So glad to hear it! Thank you! :D
Concept is cool though i didn't really understand what i had to optimize in order to win or loose :/ Some signs and feedbacks (especially audio-wise i think) were lacking for me to understand what i had to do i think. On the other hand your graphics were very nice!
Thank you for playing! Yes, there absolutely could've been better tutorials to get you going through the first few projects!
Made it with positive 5k.
Learning what my actors are good and bad at was nice touch.
Not sure if intended but it seems like all new posters use Unity's default font when I feel you intended it should be Tipewriter font
Its scary how much this also resembles making games :(
Thank you for playing, and good job, you could buy a lot of lottery tickets for that money! :)
You're right, this is not intended. It should absolutely be the typewriter font. Or... any font except the unity-default, I guess. ;)
made 12,500 ish. pretty easy game to relax with. I really appreciate the endless mode thank you. I'll be playing more without time stress. Cat lives for 20 years 10/10 game.
Thanks for playing! :D Good job!
Is it even possible to make it? Critics are too picky:D
Amazing artwork, great sound design. Gameplay reminded my of dev tycoon, but more fast-paced.
Good entry and good luck!
The record at the moment is to retire with about $30k, so it's possible, but admittingly difficult in the end. We will fix the balance in post. ;) Thank you for playing! :)
Tried my best - but the critics burned most of my work :-( Even after ~30 years I was deep in depts, at one point, a man has to accept reality ... Think I have to create short headlines in a website marketing agency for the rest of my life.
I like your game - it gave me such good memories on a game where you have to create video games in an ever growing company (forgot the name). The art is beautiful, and the ad poster configurator - wow! You even took care of these little details (the fly). Just a beautiful submission.
Sorry to hear you missed out of your Hollywood Walk-Of-Fame star <3
Thank you for playing! :D Yes, I know exactly the game you're thinking about. Our game is heavily inspired by it, to say the least. ;D
Why am I so poor writer, haha! But I played with fonts a lot :) Nice game
Thank you very much! :)
Hehe this was fun! "Turtles" did so well, but then "Amphibians" was a flop
PS. i clicked on it because there was a cat, so bonus points for cat!
Thank's a lot for playing! Sorry the movie didn't work out. ;)
I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH! Seriously so fun, check out my cool movie collection. Def my favorite game I've played so far. The music was great too. So creative, all of it. It took me a while to get the hang of it but then I was like, eagerly awaiting the critic reviews.
Haha, thank you! :D <3 <3
"Bugs in space do crimes" - sounds like a Revival of "Starship Troopers" :-D
That's the highest compliment one can pay. :D
Dang, those are some tough ratings. 0 stars on my second script! Rotten Tomatoes!
That's rough! Blame the sound engineers! 🎙
I liked to customize my poster!! However, I had some trouble making money haha
Thank's for playing! It's a tough industry. ;)
