Nothing to add to previous comments, the idea is great and the puzzles create havoc first, then later when you have all the crew they become trivial, and it becomes more of a problem of orienting yourself inside the forest. The movement could use some polish but I find it fitting to the grid. Nice entry!
Nice gameplay (it’s puzzling!), but I think the graphics are a bit jarring, indeed :)
Very great puzzle!
Thanks! The last time I pulled out graph paper for game development was 30 years ago when I was making pictures for Apple IIe games. My family had thought I lost my brain.
Like said below, the movement is quite jarring., but figuring out how the elements work together is nice.
Good job !
Thanks! Glad it worked for you!
This has some nice ideas, and it is kinda weird. GJ regardless
Ha! Kind of weird seems to be on brand for me. Thanks!
Interesting Game. I really liked the ending sequence. It took me only a few minutes to understand how to work with four characters. Nice game overall.. the simplistic character design was plausible and music made me stick with the game while I was struggling though the maze with Not So Responsive Controls , the movement lagged a little.
Thanks for playing! I'm starting to think people are not expecting tile based movement -- maybe speeding it up will help with that.
Fun game!!
I also really like the music.
It didn't take long to reach the ending.
Thanks for playing!
The puzzle gameplay is quite fun, the player movement is a bit rough-around the edges, but the music is great. I likec the idea of using elements to ake your way around.
Thanks for trying it out! I thought using elements was cliché. Cliches are sometimes tried and true.
Sometime they just work! Four elements are short and simple and have interesting dynamics between them.
Also the cliché of the little guy business.
The audio design match the game perfectly. The player movement feel like it's tile-based so it's rough around the edges. I reached to building with the rotating plus sign above it, like a hospital or some sort, not sure that's the end of the game or what haha.
Thanks for playing. Yeah, my intention was for it to be tile based. I'm wondering if that's why everyone is so neg on the movement. Make the grid more obvious? The hospital was for when it was time to add the monsters. If your characters ran out of health, they'd restart at the hospital. But alas, only a month to complete a game.
The movement could use a little refinement, I'd like to see the movement be smoother and less "stop-and-go." Music was definitely the strongest aspect of the game. Those were some good jams! I also appreciate the 3D assets, that must have been a lot of work!
Thanks for playing and the feedback.
Love the music. The movement is a bit annoying but the concept is cracking. Using each band members power to work together. Nice job.
Thanks for trying it out! Yeah. When I add more, I think I'm going to need to tweak the level design a little.
Good game, didn't have to use the girls powers at all though once all the team was together
Glad you liked it... I think that gets you a badge!
Nice game!, I like the concept of using elements to make your way up, A tutorial would be nice and I think it would be better if the movement was a little faster.
Good job! :D
Thanks for the input, Meruman! That's the nice thing about making a game the right way... I can flip a switch and make it go a little faster without rebuilding the whole thing.
nice game , i like the idea, if i want to give a feedback, i would like to see a tutorial level first, because it took me sometime to understand how to play
Thanks! You're right a little tutorial would be helpful... something else to build on to it.
Nice game. With so much walking, it'd be nice to have an option to auto-move or warp to the next possible fork.
Thanks! Yeah - it's why I had to get the characters into a train eventually - otherwise it was A LOT of walking. You're convincing me the next phase needs monsters to spice it up.
nice game!!
Thanks for playing!
I seem to have encountered a Softlock? in my first gameplay. I obliterated dead tree that were supposed to be pushed into the water. I couldn't find an alternative way around, so I think that was the Softlock that can cause by a player.
The movement in this game isn't very good.
The graphic is not the best, but it's good enough to specify stuffs.
Thanks for trying it out. It's probably not explained the best, there's more than one way through that mess. I didn't want to make it that messy and impossible, so it's something for the Earth power character to patch up if the tree's not there. Helpful to understand the pain points.
Dig the music, intro is also fun! Really appreciate that you made the 3d assets yourself. However on my german keyboard I'm a bit confused how to use the character's specials? why not make it e, or space or something like that?
thanks for the heads up - took it for granted that / is on a keyboard… and E will also invoke the special! And arrows will also move the characters.
Interesting proposal, I liked the overall concept and mechanics of the game.
However, I found some mistakes that really subtract quality from the final product.
Playability and game feel is what makes a game. While I found your mechanics to be quite interesting, the execution is a bit lacking. I find myself using the earth character most of the time, except when I have to go through dead trees; and I didn't even get to use the girl's powers at all, I just used her to walk around. Also, the movement system feels a little tedious and rough, just by polishing it the experience would be 10 times better.
I also felt like there was no real challenge, it's like I just had to find the way to the coffe place changing characters from time to time. You should spice the puzzles a little bit so the players gets more involved to continue. As the game is short, this is not a big problem, but it can become a problem if you want to expand the game in the future.
The final cutscene is quite cool though, I really liked it! 😊
Keep working on your project, with some more time to polish its features you can make a great experience from this concept! 😁
Well, with experience comes wisdom, and with wisdom comes experience...
Thanks for the feedback. All solid points. I was getting ready to add some monsters if time allowed it... looks like it will have to wait until Improve My Game Jam 25.
Thanks for checking it out!
No problem!
Keep working on it, gaining experience and improving! 💪
