This is not a good platformer game. The design doesn't deliver a good experience especially removing the key for the sake of game progression isn't really a good punishment at all.
The game that has many open areas like this is more suitable for non-linear game. If the area is meant to be restricted, there should be some reward for stopping by or make it clear that it is restricted so that it won't display the misleading dialog.
The backtracking in this game isn't encouraging. There is nothing new to experiment with the stuff that the player has been before, and the player can't have fun from the use of player's ability because the use of ability can risk losing the game progressions and making more boring backtracking to recover progresses.
The choice of camera motion isn't a good idea too.
There are some good things in this game like graphics and sounds but with this game design the overall experience is ruined.
Wow thank you so muc for your feedback sir, well this type of games is called a Metroidvania, from the old famous game Metroid, and that's what i was aiming to make, and apparently i failed XD.
Anyways, thank you so much for the feedback
I really tried to play farther than where I did, but the camera movement being so sensitive (moving right away as soon as any direction is pressed) really made me a little nauseous. @_@ That there was a guide to the direction of the first gem, but then it stops was kind of confusing, not sure if I missed an instruction somewhere. Not having to kill enemies was challenging but not tooo bad. Pretty neat.
wow thank you bro, i will fix the camera after the jam is over.
and by the way, when you take the first gem, you can access a map in the pause manu + there are arrows in the background to guide you which way is the best to get the next gem.
Oh cool! That would have definitely solved the "getting lost" thing xD ahaha. I'll definitely give it a go again when the camera's fixed. :3
Neat game. The camera moving around was a bit confusing.
yess gonna fix it along with some other things after the end of the jam
Good idea, i like your animation, the particles really improve the game. The map is cool. She's not big enough to get bored, and she's not so small either. Good entry!
thank you so much and sorry for late reply i was working a full time job these days
Had a good time playing! Accidentally kicked a door before grabbing the second-to-last gem and lost one of my gems - I know it's part of the theme but that felt incredibly punishing. Abilities/animations were lots of fun!
thank you so much, and sorry about that, it also hapenned to me, wanna hear about a cool thing of accidently kicking stuff? when you kick a TV you will be teleported to the first level, it's a secret way out if you loose all diamonds and get stuck somewhere
Very nice entry! The crouch walking had me laughing out loud. The camera was a bit jerky when I was trying to make precise jumps.
Fun game with a really cool art style!
hahahaha thank you, and sorry for the camera, amma fix it when the jam ends
Nice gem! Except for the camera movement, everything feels good and smooth. It's great to see more Metroidvania-like, especially if made with Godot. Congrats on your entry
thank you so much sir glad you liked it, and sorry for the camera, amma fix it as soon as the jam ends
Great atmosphere and vibe! Additionally, the character felt great to control and the level was easy to read. I like that you get health so you don't have to start over as soon as you hit an obstacle.
thank you sirr <3
Feels great to play! The audio and designs were very nice - only issue I had was with the camera movement which felt a little jarring at times but otherwise awesome job!!
thank you so much sir <3
I agree, it's a plenty-polished game - I've had a blast playing it; I liked the world, graphics, and tiny touches such as the character's image squishing a bit when they jump :-)
The only problematic thing for me was, uhm, the jumping mechanism - I feel like either the colliders are too big or the player jumps for too short distance, since 95% cases of me dying was trying to jump over those solders 😅 (so a low-hanging fruit would be introducing a difficulty switcher that would affect the jumping height - that would make the game more fun to me)
edit: also, the camera accelerating to the player's direction (so fast-forwarding left/right) was a bit tough on my eyes - it would be nice if there was an option to disable it (or change its amplitude, so that it doesn't shift that much)
wow bro i love your feedback, thank you so much, so for the jump height that's a problem in me, i allways do that mistake i will try to fix it after the jam ends, same for the camera, sorry for that aswell.
and thank you so much for the feedback
This was very well polished (at least in my opinion) and a nice game. Reminded me quite a bit of Hollow Knight. One thing that could really do with improving is the camera movement (which could be very disorienting at times). Otherwise, good job!
wow thank you so much sir <3, yess am working on my camera
Neat game! The flatforming feels great, just took a little to get used to the camera movement... loved the scenario art.
thank you , well yess am working on my camera lmao, ill fix it when the jam ends
Game felt nice, but the animations of the player should be a bit more improved.
thanks bro for the feedback, just didn't have time to polish animations but i'll do that in the futur for sure
OMG, i like this game , there are a lot of fun level.
thank you so much bro, i like your more lmao <3
This is a solid platformer. The one thing that really pulled me out of it was the camera movement. If I had to maneuver a little more, the camera would get a little choppy. This is fun.
thank you so much for the feedback sir
Nice GamePlay. Although there are many aspects can improve.
thx for the feedback sir, would apreciate if you could specify them, if you have time of course
of course. Such as the camera follow could be more soft, adding VFX while hero walk and jump.
