I like both platform and musical games :) this is a perfect match for me! THe idea is very clever and the realization is quite polished :) well done.  I love having "otamatone" as the main character in a game ahah

Just out of curiosity: is there any features you had to cut due to time or other contraints? I would love your contribution in my topic "The Features Cemetery" :)

Hi!

Thank you very much for your nice review, I didn't know the otamatone character lol! And yes there were some features being cut for the game jam that we are planning to do later on, such as being able to save your progress, creating other level layouts/ambient music, and finding ways to improve controls and tutorials :)

I love music-related games (see: my last year's github game off 2022 submission), and this was super creative. I love the ambient background music created by the note/platform you're on. I like the colorful art as well. Well done!

very creative and fun, good job!

Fun music game with platforming and music involved. The game is easy to understand and fun, but only thing I would recommend is somehow making the controls maybe a little simpler, like having them all be in a row on the keyboard or mapped to arrow keys or just wasd or something like that. Well done!

I think the idea is interesting, but I don't think it quite works; tying the controls to which platform you are on could be a cool idea, but I think it was more confusing in this case. The game is really just a memory game where you need to awkwardly traverse a level and remember which keys to press to execute the correct order. I think this needs another design-pass, but it is an neat idea.

A very relaxing game and an interesting combination of game genres, nice backgrounds. The memory and platformer parts were fun but pretty easy, however jumping controls were pretty hard and IMO detracted from the game. The fact that keys and notes were both expressed as letters was also confusing. I liked how jumping on different platforms made a different sound and feel there's a potential to make it feel like you are making the melody if there were more and easier jumping and less travel from platform to platform. Good job!

I played a small amount of piano in my past so this was right up my alley. Very nice music, visuals and theme. Good Job!

Great Game! It felt a little easy to me

Like others have said. It a great concept with a lot of opportunity to build. Maybe there be some extra visual way to cue in what the control change is with the change of key. I like the idea of a platformer that isn't necessarily go to the right, but rather work tightly in a maneuvering a space.

Great idea on using piano keys as controls. If only you could mention this explicitly in the game tutorial it would be great! Otherwise, it is a unique idea, with good sound design and I think has great potential (maybe add some unique abilities based on keys). I enjoyed playing it!

I hope you can continue working on the game and improve some aspects like the controls, which seem a bit confusing. However, the idea is interesting. I think the game is quite entertaining and has the potential to be really cool ^^

I really like the concept, but think that the controls can be a lot to follow if you're not also a piano player.  It would take too long to learn the controls if that's the case.  If the controls were viewable on-screen I'd probably have been able to get further without just trying keypresses.

I agree with you, we are planning to add more visual aids in the future but didn't have the time to do it for the jam.

I like the concept ! I think it could be much better with puzzle elements, as it's not really challenging right now

The looping sound can get a bit anothing too lol

I don't understand the game and stuck at tutorial and even can't do the things tutorial taught me.
I don't understand why we need to press keys to use ladders instead of arrow keys.

Needs a tutorial level that starts very very slow.

Hi, please refer to the "Key mapping" section in the game page: To go up to reach a G platform you need to press G near the stairs, to go down to reach a C platform you need to press A.

The order of the middle row keys on the keyboard (A, S, D, F, G, ...) are the order of the C major scale in music (C, D, E, F, G, ...).

Hope that helps :)

I don't know man even with your explanation controls still does not tick in me.

Like you made an FPS game and instead of using WASD you are using  QPCA. Imagine playing an FPS game with these movements  controls :)

Very cool game!

I like how you implemented the musical notes in the game, being in harmony with the background music.

Congratulations on the game!

Thank you very much :)
