Great game! Even though I found it difficult to understand the dynamics at first I really enjoyed it. Perhaps clearer interactions and a bit of balance fine-tuning would improve the experience even more!

I thought this game looked and felt great, I enjoyed the music as well. I don’t play a lot of tile based strategy games so it took me a little bit to understand what I was supposed to be doing (I see below that you meant to add a tutorial of sorts, I hope you continue work on this project and add that as well as some other features because I can totally see the potential in this game!!) The ambience felt nice, and everything in the game “fit in” for lack of a better term. Well done!
I like the water, the colors, and the low-poly style. The music reminded me of old school Warcraft games.
I think the enemies should start spawning in just a little later to give the player a chance to set up their defenses. I was still clicking around figuring how to get my lumber operation going when I was already being overrun.
Thanks for your entry!
I really liked the how the game looks and sounds.
It's fairly simple to understand how to play once you read instructions on the web page. I felt like the enemies didn't scale that well compared to player. After about 2 minutes of playing, I had strong enough defenses that were never truly tested.
I think there should be some new mechanics and new enemies introduced later in the game. As of right now, you see all that it has to offer in the first few minutes and the remaining time until 15 minute mark is a bit repetitive.
Still, I'm happy I played this game. Great job!
Felt really imbalanced. Finally figured out what I was doing, but it still felt like I was quickly over taken by the enemy. My spawned workers just kept impotently throwing themselves at the enemy to be fodder. Really like what this could be if it were more evenly balanced.
The game is a bit wonky on an ultrawide since it forces fullscreen so the top tiles are cut off by about half. Still technically playable but you cant quite see what buildings there are doing. The controls also feel a bit wonky, where it doesnt always feel like the workers do what you tell them too and its hard to select a specific worker.
That said, I am sure you could polish it into something pretty fun! The core idea is there, it just needs expanding on!
I like that the stronger the enemies are the larger they are. I assume that's the idea of the theme, so cool idea! I will say though that the game is very large for a jam entry, so many people will probably not download and try it. Just as a general tip for future jams, it might be a good idea to include a web build :) but that's just my personal experience. Congrats on finishing your game!
Cool idea for a game, screenshots give me an idea of how it plays. However this would definitely benefit from a tutorial as I wasn't sure how to progress. I was only only able to afford a wood cutter but I wasn't sure how to make the person go to it. a restart button in a pause menu would also be useful since when your guy dies you have to wait for the enemies to destroy all your buildings before you can restart.
looks like there's a lot of potential here
That's absolutely fair, I didn't manage to add a tutorial before deadline :(
In case you would be willing to give it another go, I described some basics on the game page, but in general it all comes down to ordering units around:
* at the start you left-click the initial unit to select it and right-click the building to send the unit into it. That will start spawning new units.
* then you build a wood cutter like you did, and send some units to that building to produce wood. That should get you started.
* if you select a building and then right-click somewhere, you'll send units out of that building.
* shift+right-click sends only half of the selected unit somewhere.
Anyway, thanks for checking it out!
