First I played this game in FireFox with very low fps and lags. But win version looking good. I like halloween theme in game, original idea and hardcore gameplay. Good game for prototype, interesting concept. I think with level design (level select screen, scores/time and more visual effects like a screens tremor) and more mechanics like ghosts (from mario/pacman) this game will be awesome for HTML5 game portals. Good luck with this game!
Good game! I like how you combined the jam and halloween theme together. Game is kinda hard though (which is okay), but the first level shouldn't be that hard cause it's the platform that should allow the player to learn the mechanics first. But overall, good job esp. with the given time constraint :)
I'll just mirror what others have said in the other comments regarding the movement and collisions. Good work for such a short jam :)
Nice game, I like a lot the art and how the gameplay works, also I would like to highlight what LlamaDev Games said, so it can be a better game, but good work for the jam.
Finally got onto my pc so I can play without lag! It's a fun game, and it's cool that you added random generation. The problem with the "if you stop moving you die" games, is that in order to not die, you can just move in a circle until you decide what to do. It makes it feel like an irrelevant game mechanic. But an overall good job!
Thanks for the comment, the move in a circle thing was mostly what we intended for the person to do, because the player will have to move and think were to go on the fly , for us that's the main difficulty aspect of the game, but we're glad to see another point of view on this mechanic, thanks a lot for your insight and feedback :)
Wow pumpkin! :D In overall great job. But I have some remarks (if you allow).
The camera position is a bit awkward, I think this is due to the selected palette, it is difficult to determine how far the objects are from the player. Level generation, it's very brave to do this in such a short time, but I was only able to collect all the candy from 5 times and then because random allowed me to do it :D
Anyway, well done!
Cool game! I thought the 3D graphics were impressive and the motion of the pumpkin was great! My only complaint was the difficulty level. I wish the first level was easier so I had a chance to get started. I found the even the slighest touch would instantly kill me. Also the obstacles moved in very unpredictable patterns. Maybe a few intro levels could help build the player up to this point. Or maybe a few hits would just bounce you around before your pumpkin cracked.
I really enjoyed this though! The game is fun to control and has a super-monkey-ball feel to it. Good job!
The game mostly ran fine for the first level, but the second was unplayable. Also, don't know if this was intentional or not, but you move faster diagonally. If your code uses vectors to move, you can normalize them.
