Nice little platformer great job! Really liked the level design and the art. The collision are imprecise and i fell into the void multiple times.

Developer(+1)

Thanks :) Im planning on fixing a few faulty collisions when I can update after the Jam, so I'll look into it!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun graphics. I got stuck in a scrapped loop once and had to restart the game. Great job!

Developer

I'll defo look into that whenever im able to update it after the Jam, Thanks!

GREAT GAME!!

Amazing visuals and atmosphere! A very solid game, great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! :)

Artistically this is the best one from the jam I've played so far. Feels and looks really good. The opening scene struck me as a lighting bolt - in a positive sense.

The sounds are great too! The absence of music adds to the atmoshpere and sense of exploration in this case.

I encountered one bug: after respawning i got totally stuck and could not move

As a fellow Godot 4 dev, I think you could move the respawn coordinates a bit higher. I usually use a Marker2D for some stuff like this since it looks great and indicative in the editor because it looks like a crosshair and easy to move around.

Developer(+1)

Hey! Thanks for the feedback, I am using a marker 2D as the respawn point, and I think it might be a case of some position adjustment but I'll look into it once im able to update the game :)

great use of light and shadow. The colours are great. I was expecting things to get darker to maximise the need for the torch. Has great potential for level design. tops!

Developer

Thanks! hope to maybe update levels in future :)

Fantastic atmosphere with smooth controls!

Submitted(+1)

Wow, did you really do this in such a short amount of time? The atmosphere is phenomenal. the graphics are awesome, the gameplay is fun, I love all the SFX you added, everything is just so on point. Congrats!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! :D (to answer your question; a good few coffee fuelled sessions lol)

Submitted(+1)

This was tons of fun to play! Great mechanics! Awesome SFX, beautiful artwork with tons of atmosphere. I fumbled a jump at the last section of the 4th vessel, very last minute, but I enjoyed the difficulty and will definitely circle back and try to beat it! Good work!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it, it means a lot :)

This is absolutely phenomenal! I'm in awe at the atmosphere you created here with the audio and visuals.  Everything flows so well together. Great job

Thanks so much!

Very impressive entry! I thought I would point out some MINOR improvements that I think could be made but over all this is great! I think iI would have liked a slight, minimal soundtrack. I did fall through the floor in the second sector. I think there is a way to improve the checkpointing, but I was really glad it was there. I would reset or run into a saw if I was in a completed sector since I knew it would bring me back to the center, maybe in that case it should respawn you in the sector so that you have to navigate back through. Seriously great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback :) I had originally planned to compose a soundtrack but due to the deadline wasn't able to implement it. Also I had a checkpoint system in the making where you could respawn at the different sector checkpoints, but once again time lol :P Means a lot tho!

It was taking quite long time to load, but once I played it was worth it. Really love the art style of the game :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks I tried my best lol :D

The visuals, sound effects and presentation are really good. I enjoyed all the bosses, and I felt the game had a deeper story to it. Having music only at the end was a good choice. The ambient sounds in the background with the sound effects helped with the look and feel and atmosphere. I had some issues with the controls and collision boxes, but I’m happy you had a button to restart to help with that. Good entry.

What a great experience ! Well done !

That's a nice game you have here. You did a great job with the sprites, and the gameplay is also pretty nice.

Developer

Good to hear! thanks

Hi!

Passed the game! The animation of the core moving away perfectly emphasizes the end of the game, it really gives a sense of completion.

When I first started playing and landed on the core, at first I couldn't figure out what to do, but then I was opened up to the first section, where for the first time I fell hard into the textures, so deep that it was even fun :D. But the second time everything was fine, after the 2nd section when I realized that you have a save point after each section, the shortest way back was through revival :).

Traps in the form of gears, spokes and main machines in sections look cool!

The sound and graphics are perfectly immersive, I really liked and really enjoyed your game - congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Man that means a lot, thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed :)

Hello again, could you please let me know what technologies you used in the development of your game? Interesting :).

Developer

Hi, As in engine and stuff? Well I developed the game on Godot 4.2, which has its own native coding language and node system which I find easier to work with, and all the assets and sprites were drawn by me on Krita. Sound wise I got most from leftover sound bits from other projects, but a good few were from pixabay, so some cheeky free sounds. :)

[btw sorry for late response I only saw now lol]

Oh sure, thanks! :)
