This was a solid experience.

  • Music was catchy
  • Mechanic was good, fresh, new
  • Sound effects were appropriate.

Well done.

This is a good game. The mechanics are sound. I love the way you use the corpses to create skeletons. I wish the skeletons had a bit of an attack though, that would have been really cool. I did not see the point of switching between the two attacks other than to direct the skeletons. The bone was just as good as the green fire. I may not have made it far enough to see the difference. I got a little upset with the misdirection to teach the restart button. I had just restarted like 5 time because I did not know there where more guys coming and they kept killing my skeletons for the ladder. This is a great game, even though it frustrated me. Good Job on this entry.

Thanks for the feedback! We did have more ideas around spells and summoned minions, and would have done the levels a bit different if we had more time!

Loved this! I'm terrible at platformers, but this was more like a puzzle! Really cool. Good job!

Developer

Thanks!

Developer

Thanks!

Very interesting mechanics with the resurrection of skeletons and controlling them with the help of bones :D

I liked how the control tips are integrated into the game itself, the tutorial is very well built!

On my first playthrough, I ran into a problem at the beginning of the second level, too many skeletons fell into the pit at the beginning of the level, which prevented me from advancing further and climbing up the ledge. I had to restart, but on the second attempt I went through to the end!

Great job :3

Excellent game, nice work with the skeletons and the animations of everything! Not being able to jump was a bit frustrating. I would have loved to be able to throw a bone to a skeleton when they are at an edge to have them walk to the other side, I got stuck a few times because of that. Otherwise great game, good job!

Great going. brought a lot of different stuff together with this.

Main issue for me revolved around returning to the main screen.
Hiting Escape didnt work great in webGl, as it changed my browsers size :P. Then in the menu screen my options were restart level... or go back to main menu,. I couldnt just continue from where I was.

Well done on this fun and interesting take. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, will think of that for future UI in games!

Good job with the game.

This was very nice. I loved the theme, the system and the graphics. Me too I got stuck at level 2 in the pit. Couldn't summon a new skeleton. But generally it was nicely done. Well done.

This is a pretty fun take on the theme. Congrats on making this and submitting!

The animations and summoning are really cool effects. You nailed that feeling of using your enemies against them. Just needed a little more polish. I gave up on level two because I couldn't get the skeletons in right places before they got attacked or hit the wrong wall. It would be nice to be able to "restart" a skeleton's movement by hitting it with another bone because even if they're attacked once, they freeze and it's a little frustrating.

Cool game though! Keep making games!

Woah, sweet game. I love the sprite animations and the idea of controlling the enemies to do your bidding. Great job!

Submitted

hey,

i like the game very much. had a very good time to play it. The theme is very funny.  the summon mechanic was an awesome idea!

Submitted

Liked the use of the theme to replace jumping. Also had some trouble with the skeletons getting to a wall before I could change their direction and being stuck in place, but restarting the level from the Esc menu helped with that. Was a fun idea to check out! :)

Developer

Thanks! We've thought about adding jumping later once we'd worked out the shield / ladder mechanic, but for the jam we think it works well to explore something different. Thanks for playing!

Submitted

You should put a safety check if someone accidentally summons the skeleton in the wrong direction and prevents you from moving forward. Like maybe a new knight spawning or pressing a button to tell the skeleton to move in the opposite direction or something. Interesting idea overall. Congrats on completing it!

Developer(+1)

If you hit the skeleton with the bone spell they change direction, but only while walking, not once they are acting as a shield or a ladder. We definitely would work on the mechanics of that more if we had more time, and had other ideas for minions and controls, but had to keep the scope small enough for the jam! Thanks for playing and providing feedback!

I can't seem to jump. I am pressing w but nothing is happening.

Developer

Yeah that was the constraint we put on it - she can't walk that fast, how is she going to jump in that robe?

Submitted

Yay I saved Hilda! haha This was fun! My favorite part is when you kill the huge knight and a regular-sized skeleton pops out XD

Developer(+1)

There is another scene when you die ;) haha he just had a lot of armour on, he had a tiny body inside

Submitted

Brilliant mechanics! I loved the fact that you could use skeletons to climb platforms. A good twist to the genre.

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it

Nice game,  the graphics are good but blurry and I lived that I could resurrect the knights!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, we have some work to do polishing some of that up

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment, new to Unity so just assumed it was our sprites that were the problem, but thanks to your comment, I googled a few things and have found a couple of settings to change for future games, makes the sprites nice and crisp!

Submitted

Brilliant, really fun to play, I love the theme. Why not try adding a timer on the skeletons to respawn a new one, as on my initial try I made the skeleton go the wrong way and i could not get up the last climb.

Developer(+1)

Great suggestion, I was playing with the idea of using the bone spell to reanimate the shields or ladder skeletons rather than just turn them around, but didn't get to it.

Submitted(+1)

Nice job! Really enjoyed the summon mechanic. Visually great and music suits the mood. Only wish I could jump and maybe move a bit faster. Keep up the great work!

Developer

Thanks a lot - the jump constraint we put on ourselves to make the skeleton mechanic work. Thanks for the feedback
