This is such a charming and delightful game! I had a blast playing, really amazing work here! I loved the old school feel and sound of the game! I also really liked the story beats and when the title popped out, scaring the cats! Combat was challenging but super rewarding when you did best another cat, my only note was that at times I wasn't sure where to progress, for example, after the window fight, I had to do some jumping around to find the right path, but that was pretty minor!

This is incredible! What a great game! I really like that it has an ending, and isn't just a endless runner/highscore chaser. Nothing wrong with those at all, you just see a lot of them during game jams. But this is a full story! Well done!

The enemy cats were probably my favorite part. However you set up their movement and attack patterns seemed very fluid and polished. They were just hard enough without feeling impossible, but also just fell off the map on their own sometimes, which made me feel relieved haha! Not invincible, but not too easy. Almost like I was playing against another player, if that makes sense.

I could ramble on forever. I really liked this game! Wonderful job!

One of my favorite game of this jam tbh ! Nicely polished, the gameplay loop is fun, I never thought I would play smash bros with cats lol
The time it takes to complete the game is also perfect IMO, not too short and most importantly not too long so we don't get bored
Congrats !

Really great looking game with fun and original gameplay! The cat animations were great and I liked that the sound effect was different for each ground material. Some of the cat battles were a bit easy because the enemies just jumped down by themselves, but I understand programming smart enemies is hard in this time frame, especially with as a solo dev.

Fantastic cohesive art style and the general tone of the game made it feel like a brand new classic NES game.  I really liked the little things like crossing through the title screen and the trash can animations. Those cat battles were tough! They might need a little tweaking for balance, but maybe I just need to get good.

Fun game and lovely aestethic! Although after the third time I fell down I felt like I was playing getting over it XD

It REALLY makes you feel like a stray cat. I loved it all around, fantastic job with this one!!

This was wonderful!! The controls, cute retro aesthetics, reactive sound design & little features (like the title popping up & startling the cat) all just made it such a lovely experience. :) Felt like a leap of faith each time I jumped off screen on from the ledges haha. thank you for creating this!

The controls lack some depth, the AI can loop at times and the screen transitions are trial and error for the most part. Putting that aside, the music is super engaging, the animations are great and I just had a lot of fun playing Gataria!

Very cute game!! I liked it! I got anihilated by enemy cat…

Hilarious and brilliant style!
My only problem was the way the screens change, it was a bit unfriendly

Definitely 5* on the aesthetics. This pixel art style is definitely up my alley, would love to collaborate with you sometime!

The transition from game start to the game logo appearng midway is very cool, along with all the minor touches (e.g. shaking thrashcans with corresponding sfx etc.).

Only issue was with the "combat". Perhaps because cats have short paws, the reach was slightly punishing to land hits with. And I didnt know how to progress from there.

But overall, a charming entry based on art style alone.

Loved the game, specially the unexpected pop ups. Really well made. Well done!

loved the art, when i started i didnt think  i will become a cat killing climber cat.

It was fun to play. I needed time to figure out what to do to  defeat those cats, tho
