The graphics are incredible, I loved the game!

I wish I knew what was going on, I wonder if im missing some story or gameplay hint that is too abstract.

But! I must say this is a very visual experience. The light and focus-blur from moving the camera made it a surreal experience. So 5* to aesthetics! Very nice modelling, textures and transitions in between each doll!

A very relaxing and unique experience! I cheated using an auto-clicker just to know if there’s an end, lol! Keep going!

I filled up the first shelf before I had to give my clicking finger a rest. :)

Very cool game, gorgeous graphics. It kept me engaged through curiosity of what the next doll would look like. Great work!

On a website full of oddball creations, your oddball creations manage to stand out. Keep it up kindman

Developer

mission accomplished! thank you very much.

Oddly satisfying… I remember you from last year’s jam and just had to look up if you made a submission. Did not disappoint.

This is a vibe. I loved the look and relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The environment was beautiful, nice touch with the train outside. I just wish I'd had some sense of progression, even the music changing a little as you move through matryoshkas. I had to give up just after the one that looks like Batman. But maybe that was what you were aiming to build, just an experience with no particular goal or endpoint.

Developer

thank you!
and I totally get you. I never intended to make a real game-game out of it, but I did wanted a bit more interactions, maybe mini-puzzles to open them. kinda fell into a bit of motivational whole last week though. so it became a clicker game.
the matryoshkas are randomly generated by the way - so there is no way for me of knowing how many you actually opened ;-)

Submitted

Haha you know it occurred to me the matryoshka designs might be totally randomized as soon as I posted that comment. I'd say I probably opened 10-12? Regardless, I enjoyed the Batman one. The mini-puzzle idea sounds just right, but I'm sure that was a lot to pull off in a week. Still, a cool experiential game.

I specifically came to your page because I know from past jams that you always put out great stuff, and this is no exception!

I love the chill atmosphere, the visuals, sounds, and music. No UI and no text really makes it an immersive experience. The train going by and the shelf filling up were nice details. I don't know how long I went before I had to stop from my mouse hand hurting 🤣

Developer

wow, that is really humbling. thank you.
I did struggle this year quite a bit to get my game idea where I wanted it to be - which is why the gameplay is so minimalistic. But I am glad, that the things I did focus on (which was mainly atmoshpere and a certain feeling of presence) get recognized. I was wondering if I am crazy for putting in a train with movement and sounds eventhough you can hardly see it because of the depth-of-field and I haven't implemented any real gameplay yet - but it ended up being the thing I am most proud of, especially because of that ;-)
ok, see you in your comment section!

You are always one of those people I look for when the jam starts, make dolls not bombs indeed!

Loved the music and how everything looked.

Developer(+1)

thank you so much. I nearly didn't make it this time - but it's really nice to meet people again and see what they are up to this year. I remember your mindbending 2d/3d red box game quite vividly. now let's find out what you did this year.

Submitted(+1)

Simple and fun. I nearly broke my mouse clicking for ages. really well done

Submitted(+1)

I love the mood of the whole thing and just the clever and simple mechanic.  The clicking was very satisfying and I kind of lost myself in it all.  Always a favourite of these jams. Only thing was that I wish I could see the click colour a little better in the dark sections.

Question... does the the target point move around in later ones?

Developer

thank you for the kind words.
so here's the thing: The dolls were set up so the player could play various mini games on them. so you would need to play some kind of warioware like superminigame in order to open each of them. I just never got around to implement any of them, because for whatever reason I wanted to make everything else first. So now you just spawn a rising number of colored spheres on the game field ;-)

Submitted

Interesting. I love that concept, though I know how easily it can be to get carried away. I convinced myself I need to spend the whole day modelling and animating a shark because "it's practically a main character".

Regardless, the game is stunning and just a chill enjoyable time.

A nice casual game to relax playing, nice aesthetic and simple controls. I was playing and wondering is the doll getting smaller or are my eyes being weird lol.

Developer(+1)

no absolutely they are getting smaller -> they wouldnt fit into each other, otherwise - right? I have the camera zoom in the same amount though, so basically the player is shrinking with the dolls :-)

Submitted(+1)

That makes sense thanks for clearing that up, after this jam i am still kind of floaty feeling from lack of sleep lol

Submitted(+1)

Relaxing clicker! Thanks!

Submitted(+1)

Very chill, nice clicker game. The whole ambiance in the background is impressive -- I love the train going by. I'm pretty sure I entered the quantumverse.

Developer (1 edit)

You definetely got further in the game than me - well done

;-)

Not sure what exactly I was supposed to do but I really enjoyed doing it. I really liked this game as an experience!

Developer

then you did everything right.

Love the atmosphere and sounds!
