Wow I was absolutely blown away by how much you were able to complete in 10 days! The intro story set the mood and vibe wonderfully and I was engaged in trying to defend the last bastion of hot dog stand from the wave of high society restaurants. I was amazed when I opened the shop permits tab and saw all the addtional locations I could bring my stand.
Sound effects really connected to the gameplay (I particularly loved the ketchup bottle sound haha) and I thought you nailed the aesthetic and visuals for a cohesive experience. It's a win for me!

Hey, fellow hot dog enjoyer.
I liked how the story is presented and music is pretty cool as well. Tutorial was a bit hectic (think my game has a similar problem) for me to get a grip of at start with so many popups and people having to be served (drag+drop vs click, putting back ingredients, seeing customer orders, etc.) already but once I got a hang of it it was pretty fun.
Didn't play through all of it but also seems like there is quite a lot of content!
Had a few minor bugs but I think it was mostly due to me not knowing exactly how mechanics work and colliders being pretty big? (picked up 2 thing, for example).
Really simple but addictive game mechanics, from what i played it felt complete. Biggest issue I had was the click vs. drag controls, with some actions requiring a hold and some requiring a tap it felt a little inconsistent
I love how it goes from a slight VN feel into running a hotdog stand. The one thing that I felt was overwhelm. The game running while the tutorial was going felt a bit overwhelming. I think mainly because there are a lot of things and text on the screen to take in very quickly. Also, don't know if anyone else had the same bug or if it's part of the game, but clicking on the customer not only shows again what they want but lowers rep each time you click on them. Honestly it made me laugh cause I would just click super fast on a customer to confirm this and I watched as my rep just dropped so quick. I believe your game would be a good one if fleshed out. Haven't really seen any hot dog stand simulation type games around.
Thank you!! Yeah I definitely need to work on the tutorial and first day, I've had quite a few similar comments about being overwhelmed at the start.
And that's actually a feature not a bug lol! The intent is that when a customer arrives they're "telling" you their order, and if you need to ask them for it again they get a little annoyed and it lowers your reputation.
A great game!
Like other said maybe disable some events while the tutorial is running as it seems it locks the player from serving clients.
Moreover I find it weird that the serving plate is the only object to drag and drop while the rest is click to pick, move then click to drop (I may have lost a client or two with a hotdog I didn't know how to serve).
Thank you! Definitely going to make some changes to the tutorial. And yeah that's totally fair, my partner when playtesting kept trying to drag everything, so I do see how the inconsistency in mechanics could be an issue.
I set it up that way because, since you click on the tray to place ingredients, I couldn't make the tray click to pick up or else you'd pick it up every time you place an ingredient. But now that I'm thinking about it more I can already think of a few different ways I could have made it work and still be consistent in mechanics, so thank you again for the feedback!
What a lovely game! I loved the story and found the game fun. I only wish there were images of the ingredients instead of labels.
I really enjoyed the prologue. Just some colored stick people, music, and well thought dialogue. It almost convinced me that lots of foodcarts in a park starts to not get trashy. And ketchup on a hotdog is a whole nother rant that's not useful! 😜
This was a great game - it's a nice take on the theme. The little jabbering of the customers was very cute. I love how like every good simulator game it just scales and scales and scales with a very simple, and consistent aesthetic. Brava!
I'm leaving a more thorough review on the actual game page, but long story short I enjoyed playing this! There's a few minor things that hold it back from perfection, but overall you did a great job and I'll definitely be playing more later!
Also yeah same name WOOOH! 😅
I didn't know that being a food industry worker is so hard lol
Great game! Super fun and stressful at the same time lol. I always felt bad whenever I was fumbling with the ingredients and out of the corner of my eye I could see their smiles turn into frowns lol. I actually said out loud "Give me a sec alright!"
Great job on the game!
I really liked your game! I was employing a strategy where I was preloading a bun and dog and then trying to get the rest of the ingredients as quick as possible :) I'm going to come back and explore all the different shop permit areas you have because that seemed really cool!
Awesome job!
Yes! After unlocking more types I realized my strategy would only take me so far :D Also I felt a little guilty serving anything less than piping hot nourishment.
I am languishing in the ranks of "Bun Beginner"! Are the ranks solely linked to reputation? I just must not be getting enough rep points yet.
One thing I wanted to mention: I noticed on your game page it says "Can only save progress in downloadable version." I have been only playing in the browser and so far each day my progress has been saved! I have all my ingredients unlocked and everything. Just wanted to bring this to your attention in case you wanted to amend that part of the description.
The ranks are just based on reputation, yes. I do think it's a bit too tough to climb the ranks, I'll probably make some changes to reputation so it's not so hard to earn. You reach a new rank every thousand reputation.
Thanks for letting me know that, I don't know why I just assumed it wouldn't work on the browser version lol. I'll adjust the description, thanks again :)
this is my first game jam and I think I will adopt your tradition as well. It does take time to get through all the games but you know I really do think that folks understand that! Actually it’s quite exciting watching you make your way through your thread because you can kind of track where you are in the queue based on the comments haha!
Very charming and I love how you implemented a story into it! I particularly love the sounds effects. Great job! :)
Great intro, extremely charming game!
I agree with the comment about pausing the timer for the tutorial segment on day 1, that day was rough for me. But once I got the hang of it, things started to flow nicely! I really like the way the story was established, and the music is spot on. Great job!!
Love the idea and art style. I see this game as one of those that steals your time when you are just looking for something to play on the browser, very good job ! :)
I really like playing these type of games where you run food stand. I really had fun playing it. definitely didn't play it for a whole hour. ;)
That was fun! A strange mix of relaxed and tense.
What did the Buddhist say to the hot dog vendor?
"Make me One with everything."
Neat! Well executed, and I love the story at the beginning - that brought the whole thing to life very quickly. One suggestion I'd like to make: maybe disable or hardcode some stuff for the tutorial. I found it pretty distracting to read through the tutorial text, and see the timer go down, AND try to serve customers their... what was that order again? I had -16 rep after the first day XD
(day 2 went much better, lol)
