I got a weird bug where all the characters are duplicated multiple times. I had a fight where I passed to 3 different versions of the same character and kept passing because they all had the same move that the enemy was weak to.

I was also wondering if you can level up. usually in these types of RPGs if you get into a bunch of fights you level.

Oh no! Party member duplication is a new one, I’ll have to look into that. There is no leveling up in the game, the party members can enhance their abilities with different “gem” items that are found in the overworld or dropped by enemies

Follow up question: Did all of the characters stay duplicated after the battle, or was it confined only to the one battle?

They stayed duplicated after the battle. and it made the menu a little funky because you could select characters down below the bottom of the screen so the cursor would just keep going down past where you could see.

Amazing concept with heavy persona vibes! Great job with a lot of content for this jam!!

I guess it's a good thing that I was playing SMT : digital devil saga right before this since I felt right at home in a way lol. I see you made what's probably going to be another winning game

So far I played through the first day and reached till the second checkpoint in the dungeon. Amazing presentation overall here. The art is masterful and the dungeon theme and the battle theme are too catchy oof. Great enemy designs so far as well

The battle system itself is really well realised. I see the persona inspirations lol ( or if you were inspired by any other game then let me know cus I wanna look into it ). I was wondering why the protagonist had zero skills, but then I remembered you had to fuse them for the characters in your party.

I think the camera was fine during combat, though it could have been better during walking. Or atleast I feel like the enemies moved a little too fast.

Anyway, amazing game here. I'm definitely playing more of it later as well. I don't think I'll clear the debt in time, but I definitely want to see as much of this game as possible lol. And holy heck, that's a lot of palletes.

TL;DR     you didn't have to go this hard on this game lmao

Yea, the battle system is based on SMT and Persona. The camera as so far been our main point of critique. This was my first time implementing a complicated camera system for the overworld, so I’m not super sure what can be done to make it frame things better while keeping it not ridiculously snappy.

The battle theme, just the the one :)

This is my favorite game in the jam so far. The soundtrack is an absolute banger!!! I love this so much!!! The lore, the graphics, the combat system, everything is awesome! I can't believe this was made in the same 10 days as we worked on our project!!! I'm gonna actually go on and finish the game over the next few days lol

Incredible polish on this! Amazing game for only 10 days

I wish it runs on a real game boy so I can play on the bus haha.
Very very impressive!
From the 30 games I already tested, this is my absolute favorite!

Wow, its pretty lengthy for a jam, and pretty polished too, specially the combat,
the "tempo" mechanic works pretty well and makes it very satisfying to battle.

The music and enemy design are very good too

the time limit itself is generous, I cannot really find any flaw on this appart from little bugs here and there, I would love to see this project expanded into a whole game :>

It's astonishing how much material you packed into this game in 10 days. Has everything an rpg needs in some form and is very well paced for a handheld type experience. I'm also a sucker for an smt type combat system so you've completely won me over.

amazing game, even if its a little buggy at times.

Packed with the typical brotherly charm and skillful execution. I really enjoyed this. I felt the camera movement could've framed the action better (walking, combat). I really enjoyed the palette work and the tile art mixing and dithering.

I played this one on stream with El Hombre Lombre and Drummy LaFontaine and we were all amazed at how depthy and comprehensive it was, both for gameplay and graphics.

I can confirm that! Fantastic work guys

I love the artwork! There is some real charm to this and quite a detailed game for the time frame too, nicely done. I like the persona vibe it gives off. The camera was a bit jerky but that also gives a somewhat retro-vibe to it so it sort of fits.

I really enjoyed this and I think I've only scratched the surface. Well done!

Blown away by how robust the systems are for a game made in such a short time frame, and the aesthetic design is top notch - especially the UI, which is super clean and modern for a JRPG designed with Game Boy limitations. Fantastic work, incredibly impressive showing.

Absolutely badass amount of work for this amount of dev time. Play it, it's worth every second invested.
