The extra-blocky graphics for some of the text game more Atari 2600 vibes than GB vibes. It also made the text very hard to read.
The browser version was scaled at a factor of 2.5x, which made for some janky distortion in the sprites. It properly nearest-neighbor scaled from 160x144, but it wasn't a clean scale across the screen due to scaling a non-integer factor.
The controls for which direction the up/down pumpkins would throw seemed inconsistent, or at least unintuitive. A better approach would probably have been to make one pumpkin on A, the other on B, and choose your direction with the D-pad.
The gameplay was simple, though the difficulty seemed to come from trying to throw lanterns in the correct direction. With some more polish, I think this could have been a more enjoyable experience.

After reading the instructions it was fun to play! I'd have liked a secondary set of keys in a different layout (like U and J for left attacks, and I and K for right attacks), I think it would be more intuitive. But I get you went for the D-Pad layout. Good work!
Very fun ghost blasting game. Nice job.
Nice minimalistic approach. The instructions should be shown before starting the game, or via ingame tutorial, it's pretty easy to miss the vital info to survive.

I got to 46 once I read the instructions. At first I was wondering why my pumpkins were missing, then I found out there are different types that work on the ghosts. Good start to a game here. Keep it up!

I liked the choice of the color palette. The graphics are simple but communicate well. I found the controls a bit confusing, and sometimes the pumpkin collisions didn't work, but overall it's a game with a lot of potential. Please continue its development. Congratulations on the project, it's fun!
fun little highscore game! Iliked the concept and kept getting mixed up with the arrow keys which made the gameplay pretty difficult and varied despite the simple concept

Fun concept. It reminds me more of a Game and Watch game, which I first experienced through Game Boy collections, so it fits fine enough. This is clearly more in concept stage, but it's got a fun loop to it. I do think that the controls take some getting used to, but through the lens of a Game and Watch type game, that's also okay. Those had odd controls that took a bit of getting used to as well. Still, a fine bit of old school arcade fun that ramps up nicely as it progresses.
I topped out with a score of 72.
I like the idea of the game, and it got very heated as they sped up. But I think the controls were a little too confusing. Perhaps holding A or holding B to change between pumpkin and lantern rather than a combination of the arrow keys would work better? I got better each time though! Well done!
Short and simple and fit the theme. Maybe you could add some music and a shooting sound? Also I could still shoot pumpkins while on the game over screen.
