Very spooky game, LOVE the stealth elements.

Nice work! its always a challenge to make a game and putting rules and limitations in the mix never makes it any easier. You did a great job making the art feel like a game boy game might. One thing I felt could have used some polish was how the player feels like it "gets stuck" on the wall.  Like if you are holding right on the controls and you hit a wall and press up without releasing right the player doesn't move up, or at all. If the player "slid" along the wall upward in this situation then that would would feel better to me. Its crazy how such a minor thing effected my gameplay so much, causing me to not get very far, so unfortunately I didn't get to reach the stealth aspects of the game.

I liked the excitement and spooky nature of the game! you did a great job using the theme for inspiration!
The art is well done and feels like something similar to what you can find in actual game boy games.

Challenging, nice and original story, great variety of quality music, strong gameboy soul!
I really like this speedy metal gear! Very good entry !!

Im glad you liked it! Thanks for your review :D

The game has a lot of potential to be expanded in interesting ways from this very basic start. Basic is good, it means that you have opportunity for some really engaging emergent gameplay. However the game is held back by its collisions. Presentation is great, as is the music and the fact that it changes depending on the in-game situation. I found myself very frustrated at the end due to the combination of length, unforgiving hitboxes, and the three different paths you're meant to choose at the end that are just a death sentence if you choose (arbitrarily) wrong. A good entry otherwise!

I tried to fix the collisions thing in the original engine. Somehow  the PlayerBody has infinite friction, so it gets stuck in all collisions. I apologise for the last level, it was made out of a combination of stress and hurry that lead to a hard and frustrating experience that ruins all the already played. So I hope the collisions didn't ruin your experience. For further information about the frustrating creation of this game, you can look at the game description. Thanks for playing and thanks for your review! I appreciate it.

The game is fun to play. The art style if very gameboy, and the music adds to fast pace atmosphere. The camera movement feels clunky at times and I found myself running into enemies that seeming appeared out of no where (personally I would of liked the camera to follow the character, with some slow smoothing to add to the feeling of speed). I would also say that the collisions with objects/walls feels unfair for the speed your moving and rounding the corners very slightly would make it feel more smooth. But that's just my extreme attention to detail, this is a really impressive game for a jam let alone only 3 days :)

Thanks a lot! I have so much to improve of course, starting from organising myself!! I hope you liked it tho! Im not looking forward to updating it on a future, instead I prefer learning from my errors for new games. So thanks for your feedback!

Yes it was fun to play. One of the best games I've played from the jam. All the elements had good synergy. Updating games from game jams is always a pain with all the messy code :)

first off i think you should be proud of the final graphics and logo bc they're very clear and readable ^^ you should be proud of every aspect of this game because you did a great job! it's def a difficult game for me (skill issue T_T) but i found it fun and scary. i agree with another comment about the collisions feeling "off" and i think a bit of finetuning + polish will make this extremely solid.

Developer(+1)

You're so kind!! Hey, you dont have skill issue, I didn't measure the diffculty on time, cus I didn't have a betatester. I made those graphics with zero knowlege in pixelart and in one day, im more of a programmer guy. Also the collisions thing its because the player its square-collider, so when having contact with another collisions, there is ZERO friction... Sorry about that. Thanks for your feedback tho! I really appreciate it ^^ !

ngl these zombies were really scary AND fast!! Had a lot of fun with this one!! Good job!!

Developer(+1)

Haha! Thank you... I really appreciate your feedback, I hope you didn't have to much trouble with the collisions and bad AI!

Loved the atmosphere of this. Great intro, great world building. Those zombies are fast!! Very scary!

I found it very difficult to stealth, but luckily it's fun even when you get spotted.

Had a blast with this, well done!

Thanks a lot! I hope you didnt have to much trouble with the collisions and bad AI... I really like how you got whats best in this game! The world building and atmosphere!!! You sure know about gamedev. Glad you liked it!

Amazing game i did die once to a zombie off screen which was a little annoying but overall great

Developer

Hey! Thanks a lot! I hope the bad AI didn't ruin your experience, i didnt have a betatester to test the diffculty of the game.

Felt a bit unfair for zombies to come at you from offscreen. If they’re offscreen they shouldn’t be moving around, they should just stay at their spawn point until the player moves to that screen they’re in. Good game otherwise, had a good delivery on the theme, and music felt on point!

Developer

Thank you for being honest! I prefer people telling me the truth instead of saying good things to get good rates in their own games... I know what do you mean about the zombies thing, I didnt have a beta-tester in time to test the difficulty in the game, and doing It myself seem easy because I know the pathfinding, thats why the Music changes when the zombies see you, so you can difference when they caught you even if they are outscreen. I hope that problem didnt make the game too worse... Thanks for your feedback.

No problem, I hope the feedback helps. It’s indeed very useful when one gets honest feedback, how else are we meant to improve the games we make! However you did capture the scary feeling, I feel like that part went well!

Good job. It is scary and frustratingly difficult :-) I like the bleak graphics and cool sound.

Developer

Thanks a lot man! Im sorry if it is too difficult... I had no beta-testers to play the game on time. However I hope you enjoyed it...

It's creepy but in good way! Great job, some collisions seems to be a bit off, and i was literally shocked when he started to run towards me ( like in movies when zombies attacks or something :D )

Developer(+1)

I hope the collisions problem didn't make the gameplay too worse. I tried to make it as cinematic posible, thanks for your feedback!
