I really like this game! The platforming was fun and the art was great! I enjoyed learning more and more about the two characters and their relationship as the game went on. If I had one complaint, it would definitely be that the game can be needlessly hard at times. Though other than that, good game!
Thank you! Some people mentioned an extra checkpoint in the wedding level would help, so I'll go through the game once the jam is over and see if I can change some of the harder bits to make them more reasonable. I appreciate you playing and leaving feedback. :)
Very cool.
I am impressed with its audio and graphics.
I like this atmosphere.
Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you liked it. :)
Worth every emotional moment!
Thank you! I really appreciate you playing it and giving the thoughtful feedback on YouTube. :)
Really like the take on the theme and the art style. The voiceover was good, sadly I lost some parts due to the fact I was focused on the levels, subtitles would be a great addiction. Great work!
Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'm definitely adding subtitles to the game once the jam is over, and fixing the audio levels. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
Loved the game but the audios were a bit diff
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I agree, the audio levels need to be fixed.
What a beautiful game, great job!
Thanks a bunch! I appreciate that. :)
Very interesting idea and well executed paper-artstyle. My main complaint would be that there are no subtitles. The voiceover was a bit hard to follow for me (as a non native listener) because it was pretty to concentrate on the music, the level and the voice at the same time.
Thank you for the feedback! I’m definitely adding subtitles to the game after the jam. It’s been mentioned a few times and I agree that it would help.
A lot of vibes with this game, and I like the simplistic "paper animation"-like artstyle
Nice game and well done ! loved the voiceover. also check out my game !
Beautiful. Just, beautiful.
My only note is that the voiceovers and the soundtrack are a bit loud compared to the rest of the audio. Subtitles could be a good addition as well.
Fantastic! Great work!
Wow, thank you so much! I absolutely loved your work so I’m really happy to hear that you thought highly of mine. I definitely need to fix the audio like you said, though. Once the jam is over I will see what I can do. :)
You're gonna make a grown man cry...
I love media! You can express your emotions via so many ways. Be it writting, drawing, making music, singing or... making games. I adore media that talks about real feelings that everybody of us has and it tickles that empathy even through a game. So with this, well done! You not only made a beautiful game underlined with a beautiful soft voice, but you also reached the heart of the player (in this case me, hehe) ^^
Wow, thank you so much for the kind words. Comments like yours make me feel like I won something even more important than placing high in the jam. :)
That was an emotional game. I loved how the final level is basically the first level, except everything went from sad and gloomy to happy and bright.
thank you! Yeah, I wanted there to be some kind of cyclical feel to her grief, like returning to where she started with what she learned along the way. Thanks for playing!
This game is pretty awesome. Please turn the girl talking up a little so we can here it a little better but other than that really cool
Thanks for pointing that out. I actually turned her up a little before submitting, but it must not have been enough. Once the jam is over I'll do just that. Thanks a bunch for the kind words!
Beautiful game! I really enjoyed playing it! The story was very well put together and conveyed. The art style was really nice too! I noticed during the death animation you still have control of the character and the camera will still follow you. I think there could have been more checkpoints in the wedding level as well. Great work!
Thank you for the great feedback! Once the jam is over I’m going to try and fix that camera issue so it’s not so jarring. I will also look and see about the extra checkpoint as well. :)
Forgot to drop a rating.
This game was great! It was like playing a video game in a book. But I did find a bug, when I died I can still the the bullets that shot me in front of the death screen paper. And those bullets would sometimes kill me again when I just spawned. Overall great game, art, and music!
Thank you for the kind words and for informing me of the bug! I'll patch that out once the jam finishes. I thought I fixed that but apparently I did not lol. I'm glad you liked the game and the aesthetic I chose. :)
Sad rememberable story. It is fitting very well the theme unstable.
Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time to play and leave feedback. :)
Very cool execution of the concept! The only thing I would add is subtitles, maybe over the character's head? I have trouble with auditory processing and missed the Diary reads the first time around.
Thank you for the great suggestion! I hadn't thought of that, but subtitles would have been a sweet addition, actually. If I update the game after the jam, I will be sure to add this feature. Thank you for taking the time to play my game!
Loved the story and visual style! Congrats! I run the game to the end! The cupids are so cute s2 <3 If you have some time try my game Rate Statera Grand Circus by Riffel for GDevelop BIG Game Jam #5 - itch.io
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I just played yours and left feedback as well. 😉
Such a beautiful story. The music is very calming and it help the narrative perfectly. Add a paper sound to the jump was a nice touch as an artist that was very calming. Gameplay is original as well as the story. Good job.
Thanks a bunch for all the kind words and for playing! I really appreciate it. :)
