This is a fun game. I didn't make it past the big block puzzle after all the explosions though, I ran out of real life time. I'll try to give it a go some time though. The puzzles and voice over were done really well, got some Gladys vibes from it.

Thanks for playing! Also yeah this was definitely heavily inspired by portal.

This has got good writing and the puzzles were clever to figure out, parkour was quite hard though especially when trying to get hints. I like the story and the voiceover, it was done really well, great job!

These soldiers are done for if they turn lava to jelly every time training goes wrong. Loved the dog and the explosions, both CORE part of the game play! Love it, well done!
(Everytime I see a game like yours with shape art I am confused about the limitation on how "Artless" it was. Don't know what Xanderwood had in his mind 100% of it he didn't want art at all, but I suppose basic shapes does cover his instructions. So difficult to judge that category, I always get an internal dialogue going on...)

Thanks for playing my game!

I really liked this! I liked the humor of the puzzles, especially the dog and bouncy floors room, and I liked the surprise ending too. I got so freaked out towards the middle when the wall crashed :)

The only things I'd improve are the basic gameplay. For some reason running half-into a wall greatly increases friction, both horizontally and vertically, which meant that jumping into a wall immediately made you "stick" to the wall and lose your vertical speed, which was annoying. Walking into a wall was also considerably slower than I'd expect because of that, so I had to walk away from walls, but that meant that on the tightropes of the level with the difficult puzzle I kept falling off. It didn't hurt my experience that much (still 4 stars), but it's something to consider.

Developer

Yeah I'll probably change up the physics a bit if I do decide to just fix this up and add some small quality of life changes.

This was great! I had a lot of fun playing through it, the dialogue was good, the story was engaging. Nice work overall!

"PortalRipOffButNo" xD

oh yeah I forgot that I made that the name of the unity project XD

This was really good! I loved the AI voiceover and the environment design. The button mechanics worked really well and I love the lateral thinking on the last “lots of buttons” puzzle. Also the exploding walls was a great twist, unexpected and very satisfying.

The one thing I would change is the ending. I like the twist with the third race, but just ending it there is a bit too soon (you probably ran out of time), but one last challenge to finish off after that point might have been better for the story.

Yeah I did end up having to rush a bit to get the ending in, but by that point I was just too tired to think up a new room that would be a fun puzzle. You’re definitely right though, it would have probably benefited from another puzzle there.

this was epic! wow the wall popping made me jump from my seat not gonna lie and the puzzles are challenging, the one after the wall. great stuff you knocked it out the park with this one

thank you!

I love the narrative for this gameplay. You broke the rules in the smartest way possible. The serum causing the user to only be able to make out simple shapes ... so meta to the competition and allowed you to craft a wonderful experience.

I loved it. I think the controls were a little unforgiving, especially for the trickier platforming sections, but the thought and care that went into the narration and the way you accounted for players failing certain sections only to make it easier for them ... so good. Loved this entry. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Just so you know, the platforming section on the second level isn’t actually meant to be completed. It is possible, but just really hard, and you get a bit of secret dialogue if you complete it without the ai helping you. Thanks for playing!

OK. That makes more sense. I thought I was clever pulling it off and then it kept getting higher and higher and I was stumped and just had to tap away at the button combos. Great game.

pretty good  lol i love the dog part also  (u might wat to have the second to the last  puzzle reset the lights every time u miss unless u made it easier that way lol) over all fun 1 suggestion  if u make any adjustments to this  maybe add an infinite loop downwards in the end screen  not just forward and back but that's jus my opinion

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! For the 2nd to last room, the yellow button will reset the panel, but I maybe could have made that a bit more obvious. The infinite loop in the end screen is actually a really good idea, I’ll probably change it if I do end up changing this game after the jam.

Great story and puzzles, I especially love how you manipulate the players expectations to create some great and suprising moments!

What an experience. Seeing that wall came down was such an epic moment. The puzzles were great and the rush to do them was good, the story was also really engaging and very clever having side effects like that. This is all really well done.

thanks!
