Great game, it was a lot of fun. The music and story were very engaging and I think it was a very well polished experience. No notes from me, I give it top marks.

Developer

Thank you for playing and I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to comment, too!

The  music fits the tone really well, I also like how polished it was for a text adventure.  Theres a lot of pretty funny moments as well that I liked.  I really liked this game in general, good job.

Developer

Thanks for playing and I'm glad you got a chuckle here and there. I figured if I can make a few people laugh this round, then I'll consider that a win.

Very interesting story and I also really like all the effects and animations you added to the text and ui elements!

Developer

Thanks for playing  and taking the time to leave a comment!

This was nice, I'm impressed you were able to put 4 different events in your game. Also the shaking and colored text was a good touch to keep things more dynamic. It would be cool to see each situation broken down a little further with more player choice but this is a good entry!

Developer(+1)

I’m glad you enjoyed it! The Chuck E Cheese scenario has four different outcomes with two different ways to defuse the situation and the plan was to be that detailed with the next two scenarios but I looked at the deadline and realized there was no way that was happening in time! I even have screen shake and layer fx in the build to trigger with certain words, but I didn’t have time to write the scripts to trigger them. I grossly underestimated how much time this round’s task would take! I want a superpower to just freeze time when I’m working on a project, cuz boy does it fly by.

that was kinda dark  it got me a bit and  language warning for who ever plays this lol

good game thought

Developer(+1)

Yeah, potty mouths galore. I put a language warning on the game page, but maybe could have had it on the title screen or before that.

How could he see the purple t-shirt if he's blind?

Developer

That part was in the voice of God narration bit, right? The Defuser never says anything about his purple shirt.

But just in case I slipped and he did say something ... umm ... err, he could sense the purpleness through his defusing skills!!!

The Jumper is also referred to as green in the narrative bit. But if I slipped on The Defuser dialogue, then it's also Defuser sense tingling!!!

Submitted(+1)

This was fun! I liked the writing and the choices you had to make. I think it fit the game really well to have a blind character, and I also liked how the story unfolds as you go instead of telling you right away he is blind. The first time I got 2/4, then I got 4/4! :)

Developer(+1)

Woohoo! 4 for 4, the true Defuser. I'm glad you helped this sad man find peace again.

Submitted(+1)

Honestly? Apart from changing some of the text colors so they're more visible on the background, I have no other criticisms. Great game.

Developer

I'm glad you liked and thanks for the feedback. I couldn't agree more about the legibility (I even slightly altered some of them from the  character colors so it read a little better, but it's rough).

The font throughout the game was just supposed to be placeholder while I figured out how to set up the system I made for the decisions and while I familiarized myself with Scribble. I wanted to have a unique font for each character, and Scribble even lets you do things like run a script on the start of a specific word, so I have screenshake and things like that to go with some of the writing and other screen fx and plans for audio, but I grossly underestimated how much work this task would take! When Sunday rolled around I figured it was good enough!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah same, I thought I'd have time for an additional ending, sound effects and more ambience, but time is relentless...

Submitted(+1)

That was awesome! The story was engaging and making the character blind was perfect!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Sweet sweet sweet! So much juice and polish, this was great! And the story is pretty funny too. Great job!

BRAVO! BRAVO!

HOLY SMOKES! BOTH YOU AND FENNEC KNOCKED IT OUT THE PARK! YOURS WAS SOOO GOOD

the music, the decisions, i sadly got 2 out of 4 lol you will definitely be top spot on the last round, idk how your doing these rounds, you always seem to own em each round, geez. keep it up your on a hot streak, will play again due to the fact that im a sucker for games like these, i get wolf among us vibes

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! I appreciate it. I really doubted my entry this round up until the last day when I felt like the story finally clicked. I'm glad you liked it.

Which two situations did you fail to defuse?

Submitted(+2)

this. was. IMPECCABLE :00000
such a well designed atmosphere, and an even more impressive character!!!

i'm choosing not to replay it, even though i only defused 3/4
why? well it feels like an injustice to the defuser

the choices he made, i'd be damned if i said i didn't think of this story as a full-fledged story

you had me at the edge of my seat the entire time!! and even though i had my suspicious, oh baby was the reveal of [who the pink color was] absolutely glorious!
and that also brings up another point of how calculated the colors were!!!

top marks from me <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing. Also ... Ohhhh!!!! Which scenario did you not defuse, was it the final one?

If so, I love your decision to not redeem him.

Submitted(+1)

no problemo! and yes, it was the final one!!

Submitted(+2)

Well-written, love the attention to detail and the scenarios to defuse were very engaging. Great work on this, had a good laugh at some of the lines too. Was funny when Quaaludes were mentioned because I thought, 'What is this, the 80s?' and then the year popped and I was like 'Ok, fair enough' xD

Developer(+1)

Oh, then that makes the ludes option even better! Ha. Glad you enjoyed it and I consider that some high praise after playing your excellent entry. Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. I appreciate it.

Really engaging story and I felt bad for the person who I couldn't stop from jumping. The game kept me wanting to click for more and having meaningful choices that have an impact is great to have. Also, like how the main character is a blind man and it is very fitting for a game limited to having no artwork

Developer(+1)

You always gotta watch out for Opposite Day! Thanks for playing and for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Well gee Mack, the kid is a natural!

Got it first try, what can I say? Such an awesome vibe, a consistently cool story, such fitting music!

Plus. the length of the game was perfect.

Loved the idea of a blind man being the protagonist of an artless game.

Genius!

Developer

On the first try! That is some top notch defusing. Thanks for all the kind words. I was really doubting my entry this round, but in the end I think it's an enjoyable enough short romp.
