Curious: Anyone planning to use Godot Engine?

I'm a Godot Engine contributor and I help build plugins/tools. Was planning to participate for fun, but I'm wondering exactly how many are planning to use Godot. I'm guessing it won't be nearly as many as Unreal/Unity/GameMaker, but it would still be kinda fun to know if there are others out there.

Planning to use it as well, also joining in for fun and experience

I will too.

Cool. Looking forward to seeing your guys' projects!

I'm planning to use it for the first time in this jam.

Of course, it's a choice game engine for me. Also, glad to see you on itch, will!

Hey there! Cool someone recognizes me (though I'm not sure from where - GitHub? Reddit?).

Both.

(+1)

Yup. I'll use it

Also gonna use it :)

My team uses Godot for all of our GameJams now and many of our other projects!

Godot FTW!

I will be using Godot also and my plan is to do a 3d game since my friend is mainly a 3d artist. It is the first time I am doing 3d, just toying till now,  but Godot seems friendly enough so I hope I will be able to make a simple game. Good luck to all!

If they decide to use Blender to create the 3D art, you might look into Godot's escn format. Last I recall, someone had built tools in the Editor for somehow having Blender export a scene as a specialized format that could be directly opened in Godot (an exported scene, i.e. *.escn format). More info can be found here and there is plenty of other documentation for importing 3D assets in the official docs.

Have fun!

That looks great, I'll check if we can use it. Thanks for the tip!

Yep, I will using it !

We will either use Godot or a custom C++ OpenGL engine depending on what game design we come up with

(+1)

I really want to use it, but i'm not familiar enough so forced to use unity lol... can't miss the jam

(+1)

I'm planning on using it even though I'm not really experienced.

Used it in a past Jam and using it in this now! :D

(+1)

Yep yep yep!

I'm gonna use it, but I don't have much game dev experience yet, and close to zero with Godot. We'll see if I manage to submit something :'D

Me too :D

I will also use Godot!

I'm planning to use it too!

I used Godot as well. :)

We used Godot! Me and my boyfriend are long time programmers but not in godotscript. Still had an easy time. We made Last Mag: Make it count. A game where there's many guns but only 1 magazine.

Made my first Godot game for this jam: https://pyrecraft.itch.io/mined-mind

Loved so many parts of the development in Godot! Coming from Unity, I could not believe my eyes when I hit play scene for the first time and the scene appeared in milliseconds. I also did a double take when I exported my project and it took less than a second to create all the executable assets. Unbelievable.

I used Godot for my game as well. Unfortunately my 2d particles caused the game to glitch pretty badly. After a little google search it seems like this might be a common issue for HTML5 builds. It also could be due to the fact that I don't know what I'm doing. Either way I just decided to removed them.  Been trying to learn game making and the godot engine for the last couple weeks now. It's been fun.

I used Godot, I actually messed up and left my laptop at home, while house-sitting for my mum, but I was able to download Godot on their computer and make my game! I was amazed as the computer is pretty old!

The main thing I learnt from this Jam was how the yield function works and how to use it to make functions do things, so strange but so powerful!

To extent the list of Godot games: Here is my game, a 1D Sidescroller .

This is my first (completed) godot project. I learnt a ton about how to work with godot.

I am pleasantly surprised. The export to the web and windows was really easy and the web version works with chrome and firefox (edge just wont work). I am also surprised that my xbox controller just works in the web version embedded on the itch.io website (you can test it with my game ;) ).

Although at the end my game got kinda "hacky". As a result I had to publish the debug versions, because the release version would literally crash in the end boss fight.
