How does your game fit the theme?
(***CHECK THE README FILE THAT COMES WITH THE GAME FOR "DEBUG" OPTIONS. You can use O and P to skip levels, among other things. I left them in so Jam players can quickly see the whole game.***) We interpreted this meaning "out of the player's control" rather than "chaotic". There is an ancient spirit messing with you and testing you. The movement of the room cannot be controlled by the player. It can get out of hand if you do not take time to plan. However, you can interact with objects to influence your own movement and get to the exit, solve the ancient spirit's puzzles, and escape.

Interesting game mechanic and really nice art and music. Found the game kinda frustrating at times, but i guess that was intentional

Developer

Thanks for playing! Check the README file, you can skip levels with O and P if you're having trouble, among other things.

Wow super impressive. i mean everything. I love the art, background music, and the idea!! 5/5 creativity. well done, i guess i have to follow not to miss more cool games lol :D

This is a really nice idea. I liked the sassy ghost, they were very fun. It's a really polished game :)

Really cool idea! Every level presents a new concept too - almost too many, but i think it works. Floaty controls are a bit fiddly but the puzzles are interesting and fun. Oh and excellent polish all around.

Amazing game man! Love the art style and concept! Keep up the good work :D.

And also...if possible...you should publish this game on steam , play store and other stores and if youre gonna go for the app store then if possible...plz try to set the minimum version capability to ios 9.3.5 cuz thats the latest version i have :)

“I play games, I do not create chaos.” I see what you did there… Good game, with a solid core mechanic and great graphics ! As a comment previously said, the jump and aerial movement feels a bit awkward but that’s the only flaw I see. Fantastic job to your team !

I enjoyed the game quite a bit and the presentation was great. I didn't make it to the level in the cover art unfortunately, so I'm not sure if I experienced every mechanic. Make sure if you have a difficult game to frontload what you consider to be the most interesting features and mechanics knowing that not everyone will make it through it. The most important rule about a game with punishing difficulty/precision platforming is that you have to make sure that it's really easy to get back into the game after a death. It was the right call to not give the player any air control... but the level where I got frustrated had me waiting 7 seconds between retries.

Oh! What level did you get stuck at

Submitted (1 edit)

I got stuck at the one that requires you to time the fall so that the rotate left changes your fall direction and avoids the spikes. I tried it a bunch, but because of the long initial timer to start moving I ended up bailing. To be fair, my platforming skills do not exceed World 2 of Super Meat Boy. But I honestly would have kept going if there was something to do in that first seven seconds, so I think it's just a specific level design problem and not really a game design issue. Is there later a mechanic to speed up/slow down the clock?

No, but we can add that when this game wins, if it does we will completely polish it and put it on steam, also try thinking ahead and looking at it as more of a puzzle

Interesting --- are you saying that the issue was that I had the wrong answer? Air control is not altered by the movement of the clock? That would certainly explain it.

When mark brown said "take something that the player normally controls and remove it" i feel this is close to what he meant - cohesive game with elegance in its understandibility - easily one of the best ive seen so far!

Well done! The jump physics felt a bit off to me. I died like 4 times at the same spikes at the end of the 5th level. But I was able to reach the end :D

A nice and cute game. The art style is also very nice. :)
Sadly I had problems coordinating my fingers and brain. I got used to playing with arrows for moving around and spacebar for jumping.

Great work! I was a huge fan of the background elements, like the gears. I did find the jumping to be a bit unyielding at times, but I got used to it after a bit. A cool take on the theme too.

WOW.  This game is so clever and whimsical, I love it!  Movement is buttery smooth and super fun, UI is gorgeous (not always the case in jam games lol) and I don't know why but I absolutely love the little goober of a character, A+ to whoever designed them.  Also the first time it rotated 45 degrees i was like "oh SHIT".  Super fun and clever, very well done y'all

thanks so much guys! Feedback and comments are greatly appreciated! If we win we will release a full late scaled version

I enjoyed the experience. Very nice theming.

Thoroughly enjoyed that! The puzzles were clever, Mechanics were taught and used in very effective ways, music's good, and the whole presentation was great! I was having a little trouble getting use to the fixed trajectory of the jump but got use to in pretty quickly. Overall It was a fun little experience!

Absolutely love it. This could easily be a full release with very little changed.

Developer

Thanks! I actually am planning to update this after voting ends. Had much more planned that I had to cut out because of time.

I love the game, great job! Wow, the art and 'juice' is really good! I love the stretch in the jump and the clock sounds! And yes, they don't teach patience in hero school! Good job, made me laugh :)

Good luck and regards from Discord :D

Developer(+2)

Thanks! The art's by Alphonso, the 'juice' is from me.

Same to you, good luck!

I like that the clock rotates, a timeless masterpiece. Best of luck in the GMTK gamejam!

Love the idea, and its explored with quite a lot of depth! I do wish I could control my momentum in the air, but I suppose that adds to the challenge and makes the game fit the theme a bit better. Good entry!

It would also be awesome if you could give me a rating, if you don't mind.

Developer(+2)

Thanks! I'll check your game out too.
