There is a BLACK HOLE disrupting and cause defense towers to malfunction and be placed randomly! Also your ship's main cannon is on the fritz and shooting wacky. It's all OUT OF CONTROL~

Had fun time with this one.

I think, that towers could be more visible though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking it out!  Good point~ I never got around to updating their sprites hehe

This was really fun! The art and the music are awesome and the unique gameplay is very addicting!

I'd really love an even more juiced up version of this! Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment!  I hope to work on this some morr after i finish my current platform game~

A fresh approach to tower defence games. Like the artwork. Good job.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try :D

Very nice presentation and cute story elements. The tutorial/narrative bit was pretty slow, I think the amount of information you delivered there could easily be absorbed while defending the planet from a really slow enemy or something super easy. I feel like that would reduce friction when starting the game. The yellow monster alien dudes/chicks? were super cute. The bullets felt a little slow, the enemies kept walking out of the way of them xD

Nice job overall!

Developer

Thanks for the awesome comment~ yeah i did the tutorial cutscene last.  It could be better for sure XD

A bit slow, shooting didn't feel satisfying

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll make the 1st wave faster and let the player get more towers earlier~

Keep up the awesome work!

Really like your setting and it was fun playing. Tower defense games are always really fun and I like the mechanic of having a controllable attacker. Good job and good luck!

Developer

I'm glad you gad fun! Thanks for playing~

I really enjoyed!

Look really polished and because of that i miss some juice (screen shake and sound effects) when I’m lose life or kill a enemy. But I just miss this things because of the other details you puted in your game such as the marks the enemies leave in the floor.
If you have time to try my game, will be awesome!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the great comment!  I actually tried to do screen shake.  But it was making my parallax star backgrounds do weird movement ㅋㅋ i will try to figure it out :D

Really polished and fun game, great job!  I like how taking away control from TD resulted in a kind of frantic action game.  The difficulty felt reasonable, even if it eventually got to a point where most enemies got completely obliterated, as that's part of the TD experience I think. Great visuals and audio as well; very impressive for the time scale.

The one issue (that others have already said) is the placement mechanic did feel a bit hollow. With no choice, and no reason not to press E as soon as possible, it may as well have been automatic. If you plan to develop it further, maybe you could add some other use for the resource, like upgrading your ship's speed or fire rate. That way there would be a quick choice to make about how to spend it.

Developer

Thanks for the awesome comment and feedback~ I will try and think of some better ways to do the towers :D

nice game, I really like the graphics and music. Well done...

Thanks a bunch... :D

Neat concept, but the lack of any kind of decision making turned me off a little. The towers don't interact with you at all, which means that you just press E and don't really care about what tower got placed where. All of the towers costing the same as well leads to the very simple gameplay loop of get 5 coins > press E > shoot the enemy closest to the finish.

Something to spice up the gameplay and introduce an element of decision making to the player would go a long way, some suggestions:
* Placing a tower at 10, 15 and 20 coin intervals would place down a stronger tower, letting you decide on many weak towers, or fewer strong towers.
* Towers interact with the player in some way - a tower could give the player a speed boost in its area, give the player more damage when he's around it, generate pick ups or coins that expire over time, making the player want to be near them. Basically anything that would make the player care about what he placed down - not just "more damage that I have 0 influence over anyway"

The intro is neatly done, though, and the graphics aren't too shabby either! Well done :)

Developer

Thanks a bunch for the feedback and suggestions!  I had some cool ideas but unfortunately the basic code took me like 6hours to get working just so-so haha.  I need to study how to code tower defense better.

Great idea and very well executed. The variety of enemies and turrets keeps the game interesting, a solid 5/5. My only idea would be adding random ship upgrades to buy or collect since your ship can feel more like a coin collecting machine at the end of the game rather than doing anything significant.

Submitted

Cool and cute little gun that is actually not that frustrating beside having lost control!

Submitted

Great idea and nice polish! I like the idea of having to essentially be one of the turrets in a tower defense game.  In a post-jam version itd be cool if you could place the turrets yourself

Submitted

Well executed idea :) The first run i did forget somehow about the turret button, so it was hard and i didn't get why. Second run it literally became a bullet paradise ahahah. with that many turrets, by the theorem of the great numbers, at least one turret will kill the enemy.

Very well done.

Nice twist on the TD genre and good looking art!

Developer

Thanks for playing :D

Really cool tower defence game! Really good idea with you not being able to control the placement of the towers! I love the music and art!I love the range of different types of enemies!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you had fun!  I had a lot more ideas, but it was much harder to code than I though XD

Submitted(+1)

Great work! The variety of towers was nice and I had great fun!

Maybe it would be nice to give the player the control over either what tower is placed or where it is placed. In the current state the decision when and if you should press 'E' felt a bit meaningless.

But overall a great entry and a very nice take on the theme! :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and playing!  I meant for that to be the 'out of control' part, but I agree some sort of choice would be better~

Hey neat! This is a neat game, I'm honestly hard pressed to find faults. Someone says below that it's unbalanced, but I think you've done brilliantly on the balance. It seems like you get the same amount of coins each run, and part of the fun was having a crazy number of turrets. Even at the end I had enemies coming close to the exit, so the difficulty felt just right.

My one criticism is that the game's 'gimmick' didn't feel fleshed out. Without control over the turrets, there wasn't really much to do other than shoot and go for coins, which is fine, but the game ended up feeling a bit hollow. It'd be more interesting if the player had some agency, perhaps you could pay more to get a better (but still random) turret? Or maybe you let the player move turrets, so the turret type and initial position is random, but the player could then optimise the positioning?

It's still a very solid game, and the graphics are great as ever. And just as a side note, your game page is looking slick!

Developer

Hello Justcamh!! As usual thanks for the super awesome comment and feedback :D  I like this idea so I will work on it more after I finish my current platform game.  I love the move turrets idea and other ideas!!  I'll add it to my notes for sure!  Thanks again bro~~~ I will checkout your game when I get back to my desktop for sure!

Wow your tower defence shooter game is great! It's a very nice idea relative to the theme. I wonder what it would be like if the tower bullets damaged you (bullet hell). Maybe upgrade the player's power with time as shooting in the end is not so strong. THE MUSIC IS AWESOME. I was jumping on place during the whole game ahah. Nice game, keep creating games!

Developer

Thanks for the awesome comment and feedback!  Those are some great ideas! I'll remember them for sure.  Your score is better than my best score haha.  (I forgot to add code that would add the planets ending health to the final score though XD)

This is a great game
