How does your game fit the theme?
The player doesn't get to choose when to jump, its necessary to get used to platforming when you can't control when you start jumping. You now have to deal with the consequences of jumping when you DONT want to. There are also a couple secrets, try to look out for weird/different looking walls! (You can read more about my thoughts on the jump timer mechanic on the game page if you're interested!)

Well i have to say, this is best game i have played so far. ( in Gmtk jam games). Idea is cool. Game fits the theme, gameplay is cool, jumps doesn't feel floaty, Smooth movement, and what else can i say for a platformer.  Very well done.

928 jumps, 5/7 crystals. Very enjoyable. Just wish the music was synced to the jumps. ;P

Wow!! I had a lot of fun playing your game! I loved the art style adopted for the project, really impressive! The music is also a lot of fun, maybe a little repetitive, but nothing that bothers! The idea of the jump not being controlled is also very cool, I found it very creative, very original! Just in a few moments that maybe, I think the character could jump a little less!

A tip I give is about compression, although there are few files, always compress a folder, instead of just the files, it is more organized!
Excellent job!

The jump happening even when you're in the air is fun.

I couldn't download the game through the Itch app. It looks like you forgot to mark is as being for Windows.

Developer

Oh, I didn't know how the Itch app works I guess. Thanks for telling me, I just fixed that

Dude sweet :D
I have to say I'm a big fan or your art in particular
Pretty damn impressive for two days of work, nice job!

Love the movements and controls of it, I'm a huge fan of platformer games too! :)

Very solid, well put together experience. I feel the timing is very difficult to get right because of the way that you're showing the countdown. I think instead of a long continuous analog bar, you should change it to a digital bar, for example a bar segmented into 3 parts. Each part disappears so like 3. 2. 1. JUMP. 3. 2. 1. JUMP. It will feel a lot better as you'll be able to feel a sense of 'rhythm' to it.

LOTS of content - how did you even make so many screens & different areas?

Great presentation & lots of fun - not the most original take on the automatic commands but certainly one of the best. Cheers!

Hey, cool game. Very charming graphics. And you have a cool mechanic that you can do a lot with. It reminds me in some ways of Crypt of the Necrodancer, where you have to time your moves.

Fantastic work on the level design and progression to suit your mechanic.

Some thoughts:

- Side of the spikes can hurt you, which is a little unforgiving.

- It's hard to tell which way the conveyor belts are spinning.

- You may want to allow players to skip the opening cutscene.

I really liked this game. There was a part where I noticed there was a sort-of double-jump, and thought it might have been a bug (wouldn't be the first jam game I've seen with a broken double jump). However, I shortly afterwards came across a screen that required it, and I realized that this game was more clever than I was giving it credit for.

I have two complaints: One: the sides of spikes hurt. That's less a complaint specifically about your game, as I know it's pervasive, but it's still a peeve of mine. And two: The final boss fight was extremely frustrating. Between the boss' attacks being highly RNG based (mostly with the speed) and the fact that the difficulty seemed to increase with time whether or not you're getting hits in made it feel rather unfair. The second hit in particular felt like a ton of RNG to me. Honestly, I feel that the boss fight needs retooling, but with that, this would be a perfect game. (EDIT also found a typo in the intro. It's "vertical", not "verticle". Fix that as well and it's perfect)

Also, I got 4/7, and now I want to see if I can find the rest. :)

Thank you for the feedback, that really helps. Also I can't believe I didn't catch that typo, I suck at spelling I guess :)

I finished my second playthrough for 7/7 (which I got once I knew what I was looking for). I did discover another issue. At the very start of "level 3" (just after the second required gem), if you go left, you fall off the map into the void and soft-lock. Also, the boss fight was less frustrating the second time, though I still didn't really like the RNG. Overall I really enjoyed the game, and would love to see it further developed after the jam is over. And don't worry; I suck at spelling as well. I'm sure somewhere in the help pages for my entry that I wrote completely sleep deprived is a typo, and I'm too scared to go back and look for it.
