This was a neat concept and perhaps felt the most "out of control" of all the games I've played this jam. Having said that, there were definitely times when it was a little too chaotic to handle (I'm looking at you multi-ball!). Whilst there is also a clear case of 'developer art', I thought the artwork actually worked really well amongst the chaos and helped to clarify a lot of what was going on for me. You have a really fun idea here, and should definitely consider carrying on development after the jam. With some balance tweaks and polish you could have a really fun little mobile game :)

Great work, keep it up!

I am surprised this is the first pinball game I have played this Jam, although I did not think of it before this pinball pretty much epitomizes out of control gaming.   Had a few issues with the ball slowing floating in a straight line off the side of the screen and dying.   Other than that felt like a choatic pinball game :)   Multiple balls and switching "levels" could be handled a bit better it was a bit hard to tell but it felt like one ball transitioned and the other one just stayed where it was on the screen but switched screens,   might be better to just force a transition on the second one momentarily afterward.

Awesome job!

It definitely fits the jam very well. The graphics, audio, and gameplay are all quite chaotic

Really fun game, it's always easy to get hooked in by a pinball game. I love how chaotic it gets, cute take on the theme ♥~

Goodluck and congrats on finishing your game for the gamejam. Hope to see what more you'll do next year!

Thanks so much!

A fun little time waster! Definitely gets chaotic and certainly out of control. I did find the physics of the ball a bit weird (it gets slow a lot for some reason). Overall pretty good!

Nice twist on the pinball game, really chaotic, fast and unpredictable. Totally out of control. Good job

Interesting gimmick that loses its touch quickly, nice music and game design.

Haha I like how chaotic it was, nice job!

I appear to be playing pinball with lost souls through several of the circles of hell? Very exciting game, I enjoyed the amount of control I could exert, even with the inherit randomness of pinball. Great work!

This is quite a bit of fun, I really like the idea of seamlessly progressing (or regressing) through levels, that's pretty unique and the game is definitely chaotic. Well done!

Your game is super fun! It is truly one of the most chaotic thing's i've experienced in the jam or far (in a good way). The animated face on the ball is hilarious, everything seems to feed into the overall feeling of it being super out of control.

The only kinda issue I had was multi-ball mode was way to confusing, especially with the screen teleporting. I always seemed to loose track of the balls when that happened.

Fun concept and great game! Good luck on your future game dev experience.

Developer

Thanks so much, feedback like this is what gives me confidence in continuing game development! I understand your issue with the multiple balls, I guess I always understood what was going on when I play-tested it, so the confusion was something I overlooked.

I don't really see how this playes into the theme, but making a functional pinball game in this timeframe could not have be easy, and the music is pretty solid to boot.

Whilst the aesthetic was unique and the different boards were interesting with their variations on the background and new mechanics, I felt like RNG and the physics engine were playing the game more than I was. A bit more player control would have been nice, like with more paddles elsewhere on the board or a more consistent physics engine. Overall it was still a decent pinball game.

Developer

It's based very little on physics and quite heavily on RNG, which I guess was to lean into the theme and make this game different from just being plain pinball, but I understand now that it inhibits the player's experience in some ways. Thanks for the alternative suggestions.

The level 5 is insane ! The level 5 is the definition of out of control, the level 5 is the difference between a real pinball and a video game. I like how the ball changed his face during the game, it reminds me of an old game on C64 named "scramble" I loved to play from time to time. Having a pinball without gravity is strange, the ball can move very very fast or very slowly for a long run. I think the sound effects are very well integrated, I was feeling playing pinball. For me the best idea is the "black hole" when the ball is somehow randomly ejected from it, it forces you to be focused and ready to act. I have no idea how the magnet in level 5 works since everything goes too fast in level 5, but anyway ;)

Developer

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Also don't worry about missing much about the magnet, it does exactly what you'd think it would.

Watching the pinballs go all over the place was entertaining but I ultimately felt like I didn't have much agency over the game. I felt like I was at the mercy of whatever the random physics wanted to do and would just spam the paddles.

Developer

Seems to be the main complaint about this game, and I understand what you mean.

The faces on the pinballs were a great touch. Made us smile.

Quite a fun little experience! I kept playing till I got to the final board. I especially liked all the little gimmicks on each screen, so it became exciting to see what would be new on the next screen! However I think there is a bit too little control, as the balls move so fast I can't react to them, meaning the best strategy is to just spam both buttons. Did make things exciting to watch, but a bit dull to play. Also I did feel some of the backgrounds were a bit too vivid, and became a bit distracting. Other than that a nice lil game :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I'm so glad you liked it enough to play to the end! I hadn't thought about the backgrounds becoming a distraction, so that's good to know.

I think this game is a bit too out of control. I had fun for a short while, but your input after the first shot doesn't really have a lot of impact. I got to level 3 (the highest level I got to), without any inputs. That goes a bit too far I think.

But I enjoyed it for a short while anyways, and the music is good! Also I think the graphics are funny.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! I really appreciate your honest feedback.
