It's a cool concept and lovely visuals. Well done!

Very fun game with cute art. I love all the references to other characters. My only feedback is that your character moves a little too slow for how big the store is.

I will start from some suggestions: I understand the time was limited, but if you decide to make changes to a game, the camera is a little bit uncomfortable when you try to go straight to the object, and as a result, the player is at the end of the camera. I would prefer to have some space on the other side to see if someone touched me (but zoom out later in a game is a cool idea). Also, maybe you should add more hints of what the player should do. Blindly finding objects might take too long.
Apart from that, I liked your simple yet good executed interpretation of the theme. I knew someone will do something like that, but it was still interesting and funny to play. Good job!

Was a quite interesting game. The art is very cutesy and reminds me The Escapists which I am really fond of. I didn't actually read the text under the game until after I tried to start infecting everyone I saw. :)

I wish the player moved a little bit faster, at times it felt a bit slow walking through some of the more maze-y bits but that really is just personal preference.

I did also find a bug pretty early on that make the game a lot more easier though. If you just run into a wall or any solid object for long enough you just sorta pass through it? Which, I don't really know much about coding but it really reminds me of some Rigidbody2D stuff I've tired myself personally and never actually had a way around it.

Good job on the game. - Deer

Oh no, you found the definetly not a bug teleportation capabilities of your character. You are right about it being a rigidbody2D thing, an I am pretty sure there is a way to fix it but I just couldn't be bothered to do it in the timeframe. And as long as you still had fun: Yay!

Cool survival horror (if you try to avoid people)! Personally, I liked the various characters and the camera moving away from the player, showing the scale of the player’s incaution. Music also fits the game well!

Star studded game!

That was a fun collect-a-thon (not sure if this is a proper word for genere like this but anyway) with the theme that's coincidentally fits the current state of our world!

I'm not sure if it's intended thing but I've also noticed that the camera zooms out progressively as you progress so that was also a cool stuff, it subtly adds into the 'massive' nature of pandemic.

For me, like other person have said the item was a bit hard to locate only using the arrows as a hint, but other than that it was pretty fun, with all those (I assume) randomly generated folks and occasionally some.. characters with videogame / pop culture references? Awesome.

Developer

I'm glad you caught on to the camera, it zooms out more, the more people are infected, so if you manage to get a perfect run you will stay with the very zoomed in view. :)

Aw yeah, that was quite a nice touch!

Fun game! I liked how big the level was. Nice art and sound. Great work!

Fun interpretation of the theme (and socially responsible ;) ). I liked the fun variety of the characters and the music fit the game quite well.

Only critique I can think of is that a couple items were hard to find from the arrows alone and that sometimes, people would linger in narrow doorways so you'd either have to infect them or wait a long time for them to move.

Good job on a fun submission though :)

I like the art of the game! It's probably weird but I enjoyed contaminating as many people as I could :o

Submitted(+1)

the level was a bit too large, was not quite sure what I was supposed to be doing

Got confused at the start and tried walking into everyone right away - oops :D

I found it pretty fun to play, it's a well made game! And I like the waddle that all the characters do, it's cute. Hmm, the choice between wearing a mask or no mask - what a good analogue to. The way it naturally gets out of control is fantastic. Good job and a very very topical use of the theme :)

Submitted(+1)

oh wow so I totally thought the arrows that show you where the items were , was your controls. So I thought I could only go in the direction of the arrows and I was like wow this is really challenging and kinda reminds me of trying to social distance b/c you never know where people are going to be coming from.

Once I figured out that was not the case and you can move any direction you want, I actually was able to make progress and do some shopping. You definitely capture the anxiety of shopping in a pandemic, I was trying to avoid people like the plague.

I am guessing for the theme, the out of control aspect is that the virus is out of control? Or is there something else I missed?

Developer(+1)

You didn't miss anything, it's the fact that once you infect somebody else they can also infect people so the virus gets out of control fast. I will probably also change it so that you only see the arrow for the item closest to you to avoid confusion. Thank you for your feedback though :)

First thing i tried was to infect everybody, the game told me i was awesome :D although i did failed shopping despite being literally 2 meters aways from the last item. I did not understood why leave the option to go with or without a mask, could the whole game secretely be an analogy of something in the real world with the goal to show how much a mask can make a difference ?

Fun little game about current situation with virus. It's simple, but well made. It would be great, if there were different kind of NPC with different AI potterns.

Submitted(+1)

Hahahaha, that was fun. The idea of "trying to sneak up on people trying to buy stuff and oh god that mime got in my way again i swear if he does that one more time i'll swear i'll go and infect him" is pretty funny. It starts fairly easily, but do one error and the whole thing can scale pretty badly- nice simulation overall of the thing going on, to be honest. Got too real for a second there, hahaha

The pixel art is the real highlight! If I were to suggest, add some background tunes. Overall, fantastic job team, best of luck!

Very topical while also managing to be fun! Though I'd be lying if I didn't say that I did quite literally the opposite of what you wanted me to do despite wearing a mask. I am a walking face-sneezer. Music was very nice, and the art style was neat and consistent. Good job! :D
