Lovely concept for a puzzle platformer. I can see so many great puzzle Ideas one could do with this.
Also, the detail of the display name changing is great!

A very nice and polished game! I loved the artwork, although the chicken with arms was a bit creepy ;) I had very much fun playing your game. Great work!

Super clever and unique take on the theme (cute window name switch up as well). I wish there was audio, but otherwise this was a standout and one of my favs so far.

Awesome art! I love the direction you took the theme, very creative! The level design is great!

Really cool idea! I love the idea of combining two animals to get both of their abilities. The puzzles flowed really well together, and I liked the different abilities. I think the most important thing to improve the game for me would just be adding in some sound effects and music.

Missed the part where the arrow keys were broken :D  It did recover though.  This was really cute and interesting.  A chicken in sheep's clothing XD
I know others have mentioned the silence, though I can definitely understand not having time for sound during the jam ^_^  Thanks for making this as-is, it was fun ^_^

Thanks for playing it!

Seeing another chicken game I had to try yours out. Only a few levels in and already I am in love with your game. Adorable art, fun puzzle idea. My absolute favorite detail is how you updated the window name.

Oh, note. I tried the arrow keys just to see if they worked and it has quite odd movement. Seems like it locks a direction in for roughly 5 seconds?

Yeah.. arrow keys are a bit broken as they were mostly and afterthought and I then didn't properly implement them everywhere under time pressure. The press is registered, the fact that you released it is not. I have already fixed that in my post-jam version though.

Very fun game! I loved the idea of combining different animal parts together. The puzzles were also a lot of fun to solve. And of course- the fact that the name of the game changes depending on what animal you are is a great touch.

I had a very fun time with this game, mixing and matching creatures. And every time I thought I'd made it to the end, there was another level to delight me even more.

Lack of audio has already been mentioned by others. Most of my issues with the game are simple QoL fixes, such as changing the E key to take a part into simply having it be space or W, or moving kangaroo with A/D makes it jump like it would when you press space.

While I was playing, I was imagining even more forms for the chicken, maybe leg and mouth parts that give even more puzzle options. But what you have for this jam was excellent and just he right amount of length!

Had an absolute blast playing this. Sound effects & music would really add to the game feel but the core mechanics and overall design is already top notch. Also, that's really an impressive amount of content for 48 hours!

I did it! This was maybe the most fun puzzle game I've played in a while!

I wish there were sound effects, but the graphics are great! They remind me a little of Lemmings from way back in the day. This is a pretty funny game. Very creative!

Developer

Thanks! And now that you say it, I do see the Lemmings vibes. And I'm pretty sure I'll work on it more after the jam when I can find time so I'll look into sound effects and music.

This is a really cute game and I love the idea behind it! I find it a real shame this one didn't have any sounds

This game is an absolute gem! The design of the abilities mesh so well with the level design. Every time I figured out how to complete each level it was a complete "Aha!" moment. It was so satisfying to play and it was an amazing experience! Especially coded completely in C++! Well done!

Very cute game. I like how the different abilities could be combined together to create some interesting puzzles. I wish the chicken would move a little faster in general and I ended up getting stuck on a level with two charging sheep. Overall I had a lot of fun with this. Great job.

I loved the game, although I would like a detailed summary of the symbolism of the Chicken Game.
On a serious note, it's a great game with fun mechanics, and the last level really nicely subverts your expectations by throwing in a red herring - great job!

Nice puzzle design.
Art is super cute.

Neat and cute! Artwork looks great, especially the title. The chicken was a bit slow, and one level felt a bit overwhelming with a lot of powerups, but in general a neat package.

The ending level was very nice to look at!

Very nice puzzle mechanics!

Hey great work! It's amazing to see your progress over the jams. The art is adorable, and the theme of a Frankenchicken is a lot of fun. I agree that the chicken may move a bit slow, but other then that. Well done!

Pretty neat concept of combining yourself with other enemies and good interpretation of the theme! The chicken moves a bit too slow which makes some levels feel like it takes too long. The sprites, especially the chicken were pretty well made.  The flag pole throwing levels were a bit finicky with the hitboxes. Overall, a pretty creative puzzle platformer!
