Whooooa, I love that retro-green art style!

The fact that your lives is your "weapon" is a great mechanic, since you can't just go and control everything, you have to carefully think when to use it.

This game is one of my favourites this jam, excellent job to the whole team!

This was a really well made, cute little game! An awesome blend of Mario and Zelda. The visuals and sound effects and overall aesthetic were well polished and sweet. I struggled a bit with some of the nuances of the game, I'd quickly run out of hearts simply by aiming incorrectly and that was definitely a bit frustrating. Still, it was charming to see the little face avatar shift as the hearts went down, even if that charm was at great personal failure. I wasn't able to figure out how to get through the little room filled with water, but everything up until that point offered fun and simple puzzles I had a blast solving. Good job!

This is my favorite review.

That was great! The art-style, music and SFX are incredible for a 48h jam.

The main mechanic of possessing animals in the game is really cool. I'm not sure it has to be tied to the player's health though. I feel like it could've worked just as well without that.

I'd love to see this being turned into a full game!

Congrats on making such an amazing game!

A very nice game, sounds and looks great. I just died a few times, throwing the heart away to often.

great job on making coherent (and very lovely) gameboy visuals in time! very fun idea, too :)

Amazing aesthetics and presentation in general. The turtles were so cute btw lol. There are some neat ideas and scenarios here, especially that one with the moving platforms and octopi. The idea of joining together with the animals is cool as well. Can even lead to some fancy speedruns tbh lol.

I did have some issues though. Like others pointed out, losing your heath if you miss an animal seems a little too punishing as sometimes you even have to wait for animals to come close enough. And because their behaviour seems to be a little random at times it could be a little frustrating.

Another thing I found frustrating was that while the camera was transitioning between levels, I could still move. This would result in me either colliding with some of the animals or falling into the holes or the water when I couldn't see them.

Still though, it's a cool game none the less and an awesome entry. Great job

Love the gameboy look! I think it would probably work a bit better if the possession mechanic wasn't joined to your health since it makes it too punishing, specially if you miss. But the concept it really cool, well done!

Sorry for not getting a chance to play your game during a stream but I am running out of time and had a hefty amount of games to get through so I am just playing and rating at this point! Thank you for your understanding :D

No worries. I hope you can share your feedback in the future!

No problem, So this is what I gathered from playing:

The gameboy style is incredible and beautifully done.

The art style of the pixels and level design were fantastically done. It really did feel like a legend of zelda game with the gimmick of possessing animals,

Some of the screen transition resulted in an unfair death from holding a direction when traveling thru a door made it so you ran into unseen obstacles.

The sound design gave me a nostalgia trip with the 8-bit sounding tunes.

Overall, the game is top tier of it's kind!

Nice The Legend of Zelda vibes. And very impressive that you carted the vast majority of the art during the jam. Great job! :)

Everything about this one is greatly executed!! Simply amazing!

This game is awesome! Love the 8-bit style aesthetic very nostalgic and the music sounds great with it too. The concept of using possession mechanic to beat the level is really interesting and fun, though I do feel a little bit frustrated that on top of losing health to foes and the environment, I also lose health when I miss. Could either make less monster a foe or reduce the punishment of missing. Perhaps foe in the starting region, say the turtle, doesn't damage the player so they can get a feel of the game mechanic before more variables are added.

So yeah, that's about it for my feedback, really enjoy it and I can see lots of potential in it, well done!

Extremely high quality presentation :)  Had a few frustrations with the heart mechanic (namely losing hp on a missed throw), and in general the movement and collision felt a little off. Perhaps grid-based movement could work for something like this?

Despite the bugs, the possession mechanic is fantastic and the game looks and sounds wonderful! Looking forward to an updated version :D

It is amazing that you could create this in 48hrs ! some bugs but fine enough, the art is so good.

Also the blocks are pushable very zelda-ish xD

I love the gb vibes, excellent graphics, aesthetic and 8bit sound! Would love to have some kind of a checkpoint so I can avoid repeating the same sequence a lot :D

Well done!

Amazing job for such a short time. You really nailed the GBA vibes, it felt like a zelda game.

For a 48 hour game jam this blew me away. There is so much polish and care in this game. You all must have worked together as a well oiled machine. Everything was phenomenal aside from small issues (Some sprite layering like with the enemy projectiles), but these in no way take away from the enjoyment. Fantastic work I can't wait to pick up the post-jam version!
