thank you for your game) it's nice, simple and looks really good)
playing game jam's games i'm not often finishing them but I really like the idea of puting a number of levels on the UI) it was kind of stimulating for me) thanks for the tip)
The presentation of this game was great. I loved the music and the design of the world, and I think that's what kept me playing all the way through to the end. I would suggest that, at present, the balance between skill and luck is skewed more heavily towards luck and that often winning would just be a case of wandering around until I found a path that got me there. Would love to see where this game goes. Great work, especially as a first-time jammer.
The game was well polished and absolutly RayMazing xD The music and the colours made the game very relaxing and I had a great time playing it. I loved, that the light always showed in the direction of the crystals.
A very good game!
I'm so glad someone got the RayMazing pun... Came up with that sleep-deprived at 6am after pulling an all-nighter, so I'm glad it made some kind of sense to someone lol
° _ ^ I can completly understand that. I loved the title.
The combination of the music and the ambient light made a very lovely mood! My only criticism is that more could be done with the concept - more challenge or a new mechanic or something to add to the simple act of walking around a maze. The idea itself is super original though, and works surprisingly well in practice. Good job overall!
Interesting concept and the game looks really good! That being said this does just seem like a basic maze game at its surface, I could definitely see more interesting additions made to the maps in the future!
Great looking game, love the artstyle and the fact that each level is a different color really make it pop and give a sense of progression.
In terms of feedback, the mazes are quite simple which is not bad but I would like to see some extra enemies or traps that made me realy question my next move.
Controls are good and I was able to beat all levels without any issue.
Please take some time to rate my game if you have the chance.
Good job
Really great marriage of gameplay and jam theme! I got stuck on some corners when navigating corners of one block-width areas but otherwise this was a fun and often intense due to the building music. Nice work!
This is such an interesting perspective, and the joined beam of visibility concept is genius. Made me feel like a kid again, playing Pokémon, trying to get through that cave without Flash. The music made me feel at times like I was in some blockbuster.
Had a strange issue in level 7, though, where I was able to walk off the edge of the floor in a specific spot and just float around over the darkness.
Overall, great entry, excellent work!
Thanks for all your kind words and for letting me know I missed another collider! Will definitely have to fix that for a final release lol
I really like the concept and presentation (I'm a sucker for isometric pixel art). This is excellent for a first game jam. I would have liked it if the character moved in the direction of the isometric diagonals when moving diagonally, it would have helped me get caught on fewer edges in the later levels. Great job.
Super good way to have a top down maze. I like the fact you always know the direction to go but you don't know what way will take you there. Cute are too.
That's a cool way to implement the theme! I like seeing games that play with the light like that, nice work!
Nice idea, the light rotating is pretty fun.
I really liked it, I was only concerned by Level 6 that you wanted the player to navigate through absolute darkness haha. Nice graphics and design, cool little game, great work!
Nice take on the theme, peaceful yet challenging to memorize the map. A success sound when reaching the crystal might be a good addition. Having more challenges (collecting multiple gems, their rays showing paths only when they cross, ....) can extend the gameplay too. As is: a complete game, cool!
That was pretty fun, working through the mazes :) And it looks really cool.
I think if you were going to make it longer you’d have to add a bit more variance; like doors with keys, etc. but at eight levels it works well as it is :)
The visuals were really nice and it was a relaxing, atmospheric experience too. It would be fun to have this built upon with maybe a couple of little puzzle aspects perhaps or something to stumble upon if you take various routes!
It'd be cool if exploration would give something to the player, like maybe zoom out, or make the light beam bigger. Anyway, great take on the theme, really enjoyed it!
I like the take on the jam theme and really enjoyed the concept! I'm not normally that into maze games, but this felt like a fun exploration of a twist on the idea and that I can definitely get behind!
I feel it could be pretty cool to toy with the idea some more and perhaps still award people who wander the wrong way with the ability to perhaps find a lamp that acts the same as the final crystal, except it casts a different color as to not get confusing. This might help the player feel a little rewarded for making mistakes. Just an idea though, it might not be very interesting in practice hahah
Great job though, certainly a unique entry!
I like the concept of this game, it feels spooky yet relaxing at the same time. The art and music are where the game really shine!(those indistinct whispers in the song send chills!)
Such nice use of lightning and the perfect use of pixel art. The game is a bit challenging and some little fixes needed but considering the time, it's well-executed!
