LOL Our teams had the same idea! The art, music, and sounds are really charming, and the levels are well put together to really make you use all of the space you can. Plus having something something as simple as the controls on screen really does make the experience that much smoother. Great stuff!
wow, and we thought our game was unique ;(
Thank you for the review! I would love to check out your game if you post down its name in the comments.
We were under a similar assumption. You guys definitely have us beat tho. Our is called "2 Dudes and a Ladder". I have it on my profile if you can't find it.
I will check it out. Amazing how two teams have come up with so similar ideas during the jam, lol!
Very nice one! I like the art and the gameplay a lot! But as for those collectibles I did not understand how to pick them up. Really good game overall! Funny and original :)
Hey. It's a UX overlook from our side. The idea is that the collectible can only be picked up by the builder of the same color. (-:
Uh, maybe I try someday :)
Amazing! Art, sound, and level design were all spot on. I, unfortunately, got too frustrated with my own abilities after falling off a million times on the green screwdriver level to be able to appreciate everything you guys have done - but this is brilliant regardless!
Well done guys!
Thank you very much!
I hope you haven't broken your keyboard after a million attempts! XD
Thank you for checking out the game, it is a pity you haven't seen the ending, you have missed a plot twist showing that Biba and Boba are not very smart workers, haha.
Oh man, I'll add this to a collection so I can come back to it when I'm not so puzzled out 🙂
Honestly, I totally get you. Was the same feeling for some of us too xD. We will tweak some of the parts to make the experience more smooth.
Very nice indeed! I was really motivated to continue through the levels, it plays great, fair and makes for a really nice puzzler! I very much enjoyed this one, good job!
This is fantastic! A simple idea executed extremely well. Love how the levels often require you to position a character away from their goal to help the other character towards theirs. There were a couple of places where I didn't think I should have died so you could perhaps be sliiiiightly more lenient with some of the edge detection, but it could just as easily have just been me being careless! Would love to see more - seriously great stuff!
Thank you so much for such an amazing comment! We should have probably spent more time on creating more welcoming level design. I could imagine what moments made you feel unconfident about the collision detection :D
In any case, if we decide to finish this game one day, we promise to make players movement more responsive!
Very hard game, but good level design. I suck too much to get past the first few levels.
Great challenging game. Loved the idea of moving two characters at once to work together. reminds me of all the moves I've done in and out of apartments.
Lol, you remind me an episode of 'Friends'
Really enjoyable art style :3
Fun and challenging gameplay!
Here it is, the promised walkthrough:
P.S: who can do faster? ^^) Any speedrunners in the chat? :DThis was great, I really liked the artstyle for this! I was a little unclear if there were different effects for the differently tiled spaces, was there different behavior on them that I missed? Loved the death sounds, and the all around feel of the game! Good stuff!
Nice to hear that you loved our game! All the tiles are the same, and there are none additional effects applied to them, at least by now. If we continue working on the project we will probably add more mechanics making the game even funnier and more complicated ! Thank you for the review :D
You definitely should, this would make a killer online multiplayer game.
Although I might suggest adding an "easy" mode where players cannot fall off and instead there are bumpers all around the outside.
Sounds like another great idea! With a different "less punishing" death system, easy mode with additional safe points could be a great combo!
I love the vibe of the comment section during the jams!
I know right, everyone is so enthusiastic and excited! Are comment sections not always like this then?
Such a cool take on the theme and it looks realyl nice too. The dying feels a bit punishing. Maybe instead of having to restart you could just set the level back by a few seconds. Also even though the exclamationmarks do show you when you are about to fall down some more visual feedback would be nice. Of course it is a jam game so I this is more than fine, but something to keep in mind for the future.
Those ideas are really nice, it is important for us to hear this kind of feedback, thank you!
Totally agree, the death might be found punishing in some way, but since it is a prototype made in a jam time, I guess it is fine.
I love that it gives context to the two people on a stick and it's not just "two people joined together". That said, I have no idea how to get past level 2? Is there a walkthrough or am I just dumb.
Will definitely return to this, cool idea. What does the floating wrench do?
Managed to get past level 2. Well done, this was fun!
Heyo! Hope you enjoyed finding the solution! I will link the tutorial in the comments tomorrow! I need to film it. XD
The wrench and a screwdriver are just collectables for the most curious players. To collect a wrench some extra skills should be applied!! :D
I dare challenge you to try :)
Thank you for the review!!
Oh nothing happened when I walked underneath it?
It is our fault, we have made a common misleading game design decision, the wrench should be collected by the Biba (yellow builder) and the screwdriver by the Boba (green one)
We fail to make it clear that collectable objects should be collected by the builders with a matched colour palette.
Oh wow, that's a hell of a challenge!
Also will you be developing this further? I'd follow a gamejolt development page / reddit if you had one
We don't have either of them yet, but if it changes in the future I will let you know!
Really fun! great graphics. I loved the fact that you can play with a friend :)
Love to hear it! Thanks for the comment:D
Its fun, but i think the game could really benifit from something holding one of the characters down.
Both of the characters moving makes it a bit finicky
Tbh. our team has already come up with dozens of game mechanics that can harden the players life! Unfortunately, we couldn't implement everything during the jam!
Personally, I like the most about the 2 playable characters the fact that it is possible to play both alone or with a friend! And, what is more important the gameplay is totally different in any case :)
Hope you enjoyed playtesting the game!
