Fun game! The camera seemed a little bugged but I found I can recenter the view on a dog by switching back and forth. Nice work!
Yep, you can recenter the camera when you select a dog with the 1, 2, 3 keys. We're missing some quality of life improvements, like the feature to recenter on an already selected dog, etc. Thanks for the feedback!
10/10 voice acting, I never knew the life of a sheepdog could be this stressful.
It was hard to keep a good overview, I didn't know where my dogs were in relation to each other and the sheep. Also, I glitched one through the fence and it went off :)
Cute game
Aw, thanks so much!
Yep, almost everyone had issues with the overview. It's definitely on the top of our list for improvements.
There should have been a special achievement for people who managed to glitch a sheep through the fence. ;)
Hah, really cute game:). I love the graphics and sheep's sounds XD. Great tutorial. Thank you!
Thanks so much! :)
Nice idea for the theme! A wider overview over the field would have been great to see better where you are and where you need to bring the sheep (also where the other dogs are) but great idea and cute setting. Good job!
Thanks! :)
The VA is the reason I go to therapy.
Realtalk though, the sound effects trigger WAY too offten and it causes them to overlap each other a lot and it becomes quite disturbing quite quickly. This is coupled with the fact that the game moves quite slowly and there didn't seem to be a way to zoom out the camera to get a full overview of the playspace. I also wasn't sure why there needed to be 3 dogs in one massive level, having less dogs in smaller levels would improve the playability a lot and it would change a slow paced experience into a series of much shorter, faster, bitesized playchunks.
I do appreciate what you've made, but it definitely needed more testing.
Yep, all your points are valid.
Our original idea was to have one large herd of sheep, and then you would need to keep switching between 3 dogs to keep the herd in shape and to not let any sheep go stray. Time constraints made us just throw some stuff into the level towards the end. The speed of all of the actors was something we wanted to fine tune, but also didn't get a chance to.
And fair point about the sound effects. I get how they can be hilarious for some but annoying for others.
Thanks for playing! All of the feedback is much appreciated.
Sound effects: awesome. Art: beautiful. Sheep: cute af. 10/10
Wow, thanks so much! Is this you playing? Seeing someone play live like this is invaluable.
That's exactly why I recorded it :) so many devs end up doing a jam without actually getting to see a single person play their game. Not on my watch!
You're a real hero. :)
To answer some of your questions from the video:
And yes, we recorded all of the sound effects ourselves. :D
Fun game, I really enjoyed the art and the sound effects. I would have liked to have a bit more vision on the sheep and the dogs to make the game less challenging. I also would have liked it if the dogs started in the same general area so I knew their location at the start. I think you guys made a lovely little game though :D
Thanks for the feedback! It's much appreciated.
The name of this game definitely caught my eye and drew me in to give it a shot hahah I enjoyed the concept you were shooting for and loved some of the animations ( that sheep eating animation was really adorable )
My one big gripe was that the camera definitely caused me some big confusion early on, I didn't realize it scrolled horizontally and also sometimes just completely lost where I was when trying to guide a pup that walked just a bit too close to the edge.
Interesting concept, and good job to everyone on the team!
Thanks a lot! I'll be sure to pass all the praise to the artists.
We forgot to mention the camera movement in the tutorial. And it's true, the small frame and the lack of a mini map don't make it easy to navigate around the map at all. Not to mention we also forgot to put an indicator for the barn's location. Future improvements I guess. :)
You have sheep. I love animals. Of course I'll appreciate ! X)
The art looks good! But damn I got lost with the wolf XD. Still, nice work! :D
Thanks for playing! We recorded the sheep sounds ourselves. :D
O_O
Wait.
REALLY???
DAMNNNNNN! X)))))
That's DEDICATION right there XD! Hands down. *clapping sound*
Thanks! If you didn't figure it out straight away it must mean we have a bright future in front of us voicing sheep. :D
I like the idea and in general it looks really nice... The HUD is too big and it made dificult to coordinate the dogs and to see the map wich is very big. A map would be nice C: and I would definetily be terrible as a shepperd dog. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback!
We scaled up the map to give you more space to maneuver the sheep, but we failed to account for how the player would orientate themselves in such a big level. A mini map crossed our minds, but we didn't have time to implement it. It's a good place to start improving the game.
It was a good experience! I got a little lost at first, and I still don't really see the full picture on the being joined together theme, but overall, it ended up being pretty fun.
Thanks! We wanted to place a large flock of sheep that you would have to guide across the map- hence joined together. However, placing the sheep in the level was one of the things we did in the last minute, so they ended up scattered all over the place.
