Absolutely love the presentation! The way you control the laser is also really interesting, although I'm not sure if I fully grasped how to "effectively" control the laser. Spend lots of time running in circles befor switching to moving just in tiny increments^^” But I really like how you are your own worst enemy in this game, the second knight, accidentally awaking enemies, switching their movement direction etc. Fun game!

Thanks so much! Haha yup, running in circles is definitely the best strategy for most levels. Thanks for the kind words :)

Great presentation and a cohesive package to boot.

Very interesting idea for game. I like it.

Pretty cool game, I've liked the superhot-like mechanic to make the game easier. The difficulty still spikes too early in my opinion but it's doable after some practice. Presentation is also quite charming :)

What a fun and challenging game! I included it in my GMTK compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Developer

Thanks so much for playing, and for featuring us in your series!

This game is wild. I see two mechanics at play here: the shadow knight that's following your steps, and the perpendicular laser between you and the shadow. You put these two things together to create a gimmick that's really creative and super fun to play with, so top points for that. The graphics looks really nice and I like the time stop mechanic, this game would be impossible without it. I also like how you indicate the speed of time with those top and bottom black bars, it's a really nice touch.

I think the game could be a little easier, though. My biggest issue are the enemies that look like pots, because they seem to change direction at random when you hit them. It makes them difficult to predict and dodge, even with the time stopping. The ghosts could also be a little slower, I had a hard time outrunning those. You could trim down the number of enemies on the second-to-last level, I often found myself getting cornered by them with no way to move.

Overall though, amazing game. I beat all the levels and had a lot of fun playing through it. You owe me a treasure now :D

Developer

Hey thanks so much for playing it through to the end! Yep, agreed, the difficulty does ramp up pretty quickly, it's one of those things that are hard to balance during the jam timeframe. Well done on beating the game, and thanks for taking the time to give us that feedback!

nice game.

I honestly wasn't expecting the tether mechanic to be what controlled the laser, as well as the "shadow knight" being a thing, the presentation is through the roof in levels of quality, although I have to admit, the difficulty curve was a bit steep, from the mid levels onward I was having trouble getting my head around how the timing of everything could work, especially considering the control over the laser's direction is rather loose, I'd recommend making the ghosts slightly slower on the earlier levels and to ramp up the difficulty make them faster near the end of the game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah difficulty/balance is a hard thing to nail down under the time pressure of the jam. Thanks for the kind words too :)

The game feels very chill, and so does the sound and graphics. The time slowing is a nice touch.

Overall, the game feels very polished and juicy (and weirdly like SuperHot)

(The theme song kinda sounds like Undertale OST - Uwa!! So Holiday♫)

Developer

Thank you thank you!

this game has both great design and great art. There are so many small details that change a lot gameplay wise. The ghost's sprite when getting hit by the laser is great.

Developer

Thanks so much! Yeah the ghost sprites were some of the funnest to make in the whole project :)
