I really liked it. It’s a bit buggy and could use a bit of polish, but the important parts worked well and were engaging.

The puzzles provided a nice amount of challenge, the art and movement mechanics were pretty nice and polished, and the concept as a whole is quite creative.

There were some issues with collision and the past self pushing the present self around, the menu was a bit glitchy/unfinished, but those are pretty minor nitpicks. Another issue I had was that the “story” prompts embedded into the levels were quite easy to miss. In a full release something like a voice over narration might be better, or providing pauses in the level where they pop up as dialogue boxes (should be easily skippable though if this approach is taken).

Overall, really solid and compelling.

[EDIT: I just noticed the game has 69 ratings, and many of you would probably say that I should leave it unrated to maintain the “nice” number. However, I think that would be considered bad form so I have to ruin it by leaving a rating. Sorry everyone.]

Thank you so much for playing my game :D Definitely gonna keep working on this game and fix those bugs after the jam

That's quite a smart and unique game concept! The game not only tests your brain in figuring out how to go about a level, but also dexterity in executing the plan! I like the charming pixel art and animation, the music really sets the mood! Good job on a clever and polished game! :D

Very well made platformer and nicely done with the past player. I found it quite difficult but interesting concepts, well done!

Thank you so much! I will definitely make this game easier in a post-jam version :)

Wow. I love this! Your use of the jam’s theme was also brilliant! Lot’s of people made the “inputs control two different characters” but adding a 2 second delay to that make it so much more fun and cool. You used it brilliantly in level design.

On a side note, I love how polished it was and how polished the art is in general. Clean and full of tiny details like the dust on landing! Congrats!

PS: You should totally make this into a full experience sort of deal

PPS: Did you animate the character yourself during the jam? It was very smooth

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm very glad that you like my game. And yes, I'm definitely gonna keep working on this after the game jam. I think I haven't fully explored all the possibilities of these mechanics. Really thanks for your support :D

Nice ideas! I found it quite hard from the get go, but I really like the idea of timing your movements to make sure your past self helps you!

The art style (character especially) is great, and the calm/melancholic music is a very nice touch. It goes really well with the (also) melancholic text you show in the levels as you progress.

I found it pretty hard but I think it was well designed. Great idea and well executed.

A few typos and clunky at places, nothing that playtesting and time wont solve! Really enjoyed that experience, it felt personal, full of little touches

Thank you so much :) Definitely gonna keep working on this game in the future.

Super clever idea! It's a bit rough for me, I would've liked a little more easing into it. I was stuck on the tutorial for the longest time. I finally beat that only to get stuck on the next level haha. I really how you taunt the player by putting the exit so close yet impossibly far away.

Oh, also! Love that your game actually saves progress. I'm not sure how much use it'll get from a game jam but the thought is very nice!

Very cool and fun but a little frustrating. Not unwinnable but I wish it was a little easier at the start and then it got tougher but again not unwinnable. Plus the game is fast that it is easy to get back to where you were so maybe I just need to gid gud. I thought some of the puzzle elements were so clever it made me feel dumb when I actually figured it out...which happens a lot to me...lol and it is a fun spin on the "clone" idea. Nicely done!

Thank you so much for playing my game :D I will definitely reconsider some of the designs and make this game easier in a post-jam version cuz I really want this game to focus on the puzzles instead of platformer skills :)

Very cool levels you built here! Required thinking, precision and speed, I enjoyed it! It was quite tough though :D

Super unique concept and game! A lot of jam games I see do very well in art, or music, or juice, but lack interesting mechanics and design. There is a ton of super interesting design here, especially for 48 hours. The music and art fit the gameplay without getting in the way as well.

For a jam game though, the difficulty curve is quite steep. You do introduce mechanics bit by bit and you do a very good job at minimalistic hands-off tutorials, however the timing-based puzzles require painstaking precision and patience from the player. I kept playing because I was so intrigued by the concept and designs, but after many deaths I just didn't have the patience and I could sense the game wasn't getting any easier. That being said, there is an audience for this kind of game even if it is this challenging. I can sense that maybe the difficulty was a deliberate design choice, I just wish the difficult curve was even more gradual so players like me who do not play as many puzzle games could enjoy it in its entirety. From the game page I see there is a lot I didn't get to, which in my book makes me appreciate the game even more.

Half an hour is a long time for a jam game in my book. The length is not an issue, but the question of balancing polish vs content is what really matters I think. I feel like if you had halved the scope of the game but spent more time on smoothing out the difficulty curve then I would enjoy the game even more.

Nonetheless I think this is a phenomenal submission for 48 hours and I think when it comes to originality / design you should rank very high.

Thank you so much for such a detailed feedback! I definitely made a fatal mistake of the difficulty in game design. I intended to combine the puzzles with some elements from those action-based platformers, but it turned out that this just backfired. For an action-based platformer that requires precise action and timing from players, the puzzles kind of break the flow of the game. For a puzzle game, the requirement of platformer skills may keep bringing frustration to players. I will definitely reconsider some of the designs in a post-jam version, cuz I really want this game to focus on the puzzles instead of platformer skills. Again, thank you so much for playing my game :)

Nice concept! Plays well, looks good. Kinda reminds me of the old flash game "The Company of Myself". A bit frustrating though, would've preferred some more relaxed timing in certain spots. Also, in the levels where you had to escape your past self I was in such a hurry I had to ignore the new story texts when I encountered them. I do like how the story was implemented though, and I like how you used level design to create a multitude of variations on the mechanics, as well as the changing behaviour of the past self.

Thank you so much! The difficulty of this game is definitely a problem that I should have paid attention to during the jam. In a post-jam version, I will definitely try to fix this problem cuz I really want this game to focus on the puzzles instead of platformer skills.

Ooof ^_^;  I am pretty bad at platformers so I just couldn't live up to the execution required, but this is definitely a nice puzzle setup and I like the figuring-out required.  Others have already said how the difficulty kind of messed with them as well so no need to go further into that feedback I think ^_^  (Personally I couldn't even execute the second challenge in level 1 T_T  lol )
Thanks for making it! ^_^  Even though I couldn't do much I did have fun puzzling it and trying for a bit.  Cheers!
