That was pretty fun! It's neat that each monster has its own behavior (although the ghost seems to be harder to guide than ther others). The game is pretty engaging, and the way the difficulty increases creates a nice balance. There could be some improvement on the UI: the color and font are not easy to read, same thing for the timer with transparency. But that doesn't prevent the game to be playable and enjoyable.

Developer

thank you!

A very cute and wholesome concept, great interpretation of the theme, relatively easy to play and the artwork is very cute :]

I don’t have too much to say about the game I think that it’s already pretty great if you did want to add more depths maybe different levels (forest, underwater etc) and some form of upgrades to make yourself stronger as you heal more monsters for extra fun!

As someone who plays healers in MMOs… love this game! What a cute idea! c:

Thank you!

This game is adorable! I like it

Very nice! I like the concept, and learning how to interact with all the different monsters is very fun.

Developer

thank you! glad you liked it

I really loved the gameplay in this! I feel like a more in-depth tutorial about the monster types would have been helpful, but overall this was really engaging to play, and not too difficult to figure out. Thank you for sharing and great work! :)

Fun game! The snake looked so sad :'(

I think it'd help if there was a note on how to get specific monsters into the healing area. I could never get the slimes in >.<

Developer

thank you!

the slimes have to be triggered with the wind spell and then you lunch them towards the campfire. the game DESPERATELY needs to communicate that better, because it seems like a lot of people ran into the same problem

Submitted

Aah I see, they don't necessarily stay in the campfire, as long as they've passed through it once they've been healed

Developer(+1)

I thuoght it would be funny if you could bully them and the ghosts out of the campfire, but they still return to it by themselves after getting healed. turns out - that only caused confusion haha

Submitted

Nicely made! I had fun pushing around the monsters. I like that they each react differently to you. It does get hectic pretty quickly, but that’s part of the fun.

Developer

thanks a bunch! and it sure is part of the fun! chaos can always bring a game to life when done right. it adds that extra level of tension which is really nice

Submitted

Really cute game, and more challenging that it seems ! Simple but fun :D

Submitted

Super cute! the game gets a bit hard though but with a bit more tweaking it could definitely be expanded!

Developer (1 edit)

thank you! With the difficulty, the game is made in such a way that you are bound to lose at some point as it gets impossible to stay alive infinitely. Do you think that was that a good decision or would it be more fun to keep going infinitely, where it is always possible, yet tricky to stay alive?

Submitted

For the Jam going infinite was a great idea!
If you want to continue this beyond the Jam though, I think you could add something more to the core game loop at this point. some way to show progress, either through a meta or through upgrades of some sort. A great way to also do this is to add a story to the game!

Developer(+1)

Those are pretty cool ideas! adding upgrades sounds fun, i can see how by adding upgrades you could turn it into either a roguelike or a tycoon game. and a story would be definitely be nice. thanks for the feedback!

Very cute pixel art and the concept is great

Fun game :-) I  like how it really works with the theme :D

Fun little game, love the little batsies and their sprites

also rather interesting to switch up the ways to get some inside the healing spot

Developer

thank you!

This game was really fun! The snakes just refused to go to the fire. It was fun trying to herd them in! I never did figure out how to heal the slimes. I tried to get them to shoot through the fire, or land in it but it never seemed to work.

Developer(+1)

thank you!
did they not turn semi-transparent and started going towards the fire if left alone?

if no, then congratularions! you found a bug haha
if yes, then the game needs better telegraphing

Submitted

Quite fun and nice concept! Took a while to understand how to heal the slimes.

Developer

and thank you!
the slimes need some sort of better introduction

Submitted

Really unique concept! I'm one of the people who hates fighting cute enemies so I'm happy we've got this... 'entity' donning a white cloak to fix those enemies up.

I struggled a bit whenever a new enemy was introduced, though, and it does seem like they're introduced quite quickly - maybe it would help to spawn in one enemy of an enemy type to let the player mess around and learn how it works, and then start spawning that enemy type in regular 'waves'?

I could also just be the worst monster healer, heh.

Developer(+1)

thank you!

nope, it's not you. the game DESPERATELY needs some gradual introduction to enemies. i think that throwing in a ghost next to a bat in the lobby would be nice, as well as making the first way contain both a slime and a snake (and also for nothing else to spawn until you collect all the 4 monsters). this way you would know what you are getting into. as the game stands right now, you need to play it once or twice just to understand it, and then you are good to go on the third attempt. while at the same time, the game's round lasts too long for me to expect players to stick around for 3 rounds

Submitted

How do you make the green monster approach the bonfire?

Developer

You have to anger them with your wind spell, then they dash towards you and you can use that to lunch them towards the campfire

Submitted

I see. A very unique concept.

Submitted

Nice idea! Fun to play, would be awsome to have some power up for the healer! Nice job! :)

Developer

Thank you! Powerups definitely would be a cool addition ^^

Submitted

Really nice idea and fun game well done! :)

Thank you! We're glad you like it ^^
