I liked the wind particles as the snakes sped by making the game feel more epic. the music was good considering it was made during the jam. overall really nice game that is similar to just shapes and beats but with snake.

Fun Dodge'em up! I feel like the arenas are waaaaay too big, for the majority of tracks 1 & 3 you barely have to move since the attacks are synced up to areas of the screen you wouldn't even be able to reach in time.

Excellent beat and art. Track 2 was especially challenging (in a satisfying way), but the other 2 tracks felt significantly easier. Overall a very nice submission

I'm the best apple! Neat beat, and it ran smoothly.  Nice!

Not the first inverted snake of that I see in th e jam, but this one has a beat! Really good presentation, the music is good, the snakes match the beat, at first I tough this was a rythm game..., and the graphics are neat, I especially like the apple being eaten when you get hit, such a nice touch.

The only little details I can think off are I wsh there were more levels (but they feel handcrafted and not random) and the game screen felt a bit empty, maybe adding a track playbar at the top or bottom would be nice.

Overall, very solid entry! :-D

I thought this was just gonna be a game where you get chased by a snake, but boy was I wrong! This game is a lot like just shapes and beats.

Super cool game. It felt really nice to play and I'm normally not even much of a rhythm game fan.

Super game, especially for 48h. Keep it up!

i was just vibing, looking at the snakes, good concept

I love Rhythm games! So I enjoyed this. I think the apple sprite becoming an eaten apple instead of having hearts or sth was a great touch!

Developer(+1)

I thought normal hearts were boring, so I'm glad people like this different health system. Thanks for the review!

Cute idea! Was not expecting it to be a rhythm game, but it made me smile!

Developer

I'm glad it did! Thanks for playing

Love the rythmn game feel to it!

The visual polish on this is incredible, cool concept too :)

This is so well polished!! Definitely shows the strength of taking a simple concept and making it as satisfying as possible. I was bobbing back and forth in my chair in time with the music :P

very nice game, i love how the apple gets bitten off when you get hit, that's a great way to represent health! track 2 is definitely my favourite

Level 1: Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing. :D

Great game, great visuals <3

Great work on the visuals the telegraphing of the snake's entry is particularly good, some really good squash and stretch. The snakes themselves are also excellently done, with the screenshake and the particles whooshing past at incredible speed is really effective for making them feel like they're going to do more than just take a bite out of you.

The first level is a great sort of tutorial introducing to the ways the snakes can come in from the sides as well as a group taking out a bunch of bites at once.

I think the second level is the hardest, it can be a little unclear where snakes are going to be when there are multiple attacks being telegraphed in the same place, as the snakes can cover up the indicators for where the next one is going to be.

I think the music is a great fit and I was jamming along to it while playing the levels, at it feels thematically in line with the goofy looking snakes.

Well done!

Forgot to mention great job on the UI it's clear and the transitions are great!

Thanks so much for this comment. I'm glad you didn't think it was a total mess of a game. For the second level, I guess I got used to it seeing as I built it, and didn't really think to much on that issue. I hope it didn't ruin the experience too much.
Thanks again for all the feedback! Glad you enjoyed!

When the first snake came across the screen so fast I got bit and actually laughed out loud it was so unexpected! But then I got into the groove and had a lot of fun! Visuals were great and a good twist on the idea. Track 2 was definitely my favorite.

I Iiked the game Idea, the art and the music .my only negative is wishing that the level and music was  in sync more and snakes have more varied attacks. This game remind me of just shapes and Beats. Overall good game.

Developer

I took inspiration from Shapes and Beats. I couldn't really remember the gam name, but I had a picture of it in the back of my head while programming. I also wish the snakes synced up better with the beat, but I just couldn't get it right.
