How does your game fit the theme?
OTAT is a puzzle platformer where you control two characters named OT and AT who are in love. The two have been separated and it is up to you to help them navigate through a series of puzzles so they can reunite! Throughout the game the player will be able to interact with obstacles in the rooms that the characters OT and AT are contained within. Clicking an obstacle in one of the rooms will send it to the other room and has the potential of 'reversing its role'. A cube blocking the path of OT can now be used as a staircase by AT, or a set of dangerous spikes for AT can become a bounce pad for OT to use. Without spoiling it, the game also adheres to the theme of the jam through its narrative. By the end of the game, the roles that the characters OT and AT play in the narrative will have reversed from what they were at the start of the game. Note: While this game was designed to be played by one person, feel free to enjoy it with another person :)

Good idea, role changesif an object gets moved to the other side. I also loved the difficulty progression!

I've got a lot of flameboy and watergirl vibes from this, in a good way :)

Thanks! That was one of the inspirations of the game :)

Very nice and polished game! Definitely nailed in the level design! Has a great mechanic introduction system, easily one of my favorites so far!

Developer

Thanks! That’s great to hear!

I’m glad you liked it!

It was well polished and I liked that you took the effort to tell a story. If you could modify the platform controls to be done without a mouse, that could solve the issue of feeling like you need 3 hands. Great work making so many levels!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah I’ll see if there is a way to improve the reversal mechanic after the jam :)

Super cool idea, looks extra polished, and I love the thought and message behind it.

Also makes my coordination better which is always a plus!

Now I hate spikes. So many levels. It was hard, but I passed the game. Good job.

Thanks, great to hear you passed the game!

The game was too hard for me. The concept is really interestring, but I just can't use the mouse while also controlling the character with arrow keys. The game is great, I just hope I was able to finish it.

Developer

All good, thanks for playing! Most of time you only need to control one character at a time while using the mouse so hopefully that helps :)

Fun puzzle idea and good level design. Audio blasted out my eardrums though

Developer

Thanks! Sorry about the issues with the audio 😅

Wow! That looks like a finished and professional project. I loved the feeling of old-school arcades, mechanics that getting more complex and how you implemented narrative into gameplay. Couldn't go beyond the 8th level but had fun.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you had fun

Great game, like that the option for multiplayer was there but was still great as a single-player game!

Love the local coop options, your game is the first I seen in the game jam to have it. Great work!

I really like the presentation and having the text that serves as both a narrator and a tutorial! The only thing that annoys me is having to switch between different inputs, especially the mouse. But overall, it's a great game!

Developer

Thanks! I’ll take that into account for improvements for the game :)
