How does your game fit the theme?
OTAT is a puzzle platformer where you control two characters named OT and AT who are in love. The two have been separated and it is up to you to help them navigate through a series of puzzles so they can reunite! Throughout the game the player will be able to interact with obstacles in the rooms that the characters OT and AT are contained within. Clicking an obstacle in one of the rooms will send it to the other room and has the potential of 'reversing its role'. A cube blocking the path of OT can now be used as a staircase by AT, or a set of dangerous spikes for AT can become a bounce pad for OT to use. Without spoiling it, the game also adheres to the theme of the jam through its narrative. By the end of the game, the roles that the characters OT and AT play in the narrative will have reversed from what they were at the start of the game. Note: While this game was designed to be played by one person, feel free to enjoy it with another person :)

This game offers a simple yet deep mechanic with intriguing puzzles, providing a lot of potential for a future complete game. The controls can be a bit uncomfortable when using both keyboard and mouse simultaneously, but the overall concept and execution are impressive. Well done!
Quite a clever balance of a game elements to create a well-polished game. It's not too flashy, so the content, mechanics, and story were fleshed out really well and I loved how purposeful the dialogue was too. Levels 17 and 20 made me go insane but the whole gaming experience was fun. Creative take on the theme and great game :D
Awesome game! Simple mechanic with a lot of depth! Puzzle are interesting and you can do a lot of things in a future, complete game! The only thing I don't like very much are the controls, using keyboard and mouse at the same time is a little unconfortable. Aside from that, awesome work!!!
Thank you for the feedback!
I know that we are supposed to play this game alone, but it was fun playing with my girlfriend. Nice concept.
Thanks! I'm glad you two enjoyed it :)
Really neat concept! I managed to play it 2-player and it works super well as a keyboard co-op game, which is SO impressive for a 48hr jam. Love the narrative too 😊
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
This is a neat concept and it's well executed with good polish! Good stuff :) I also like how you handled preventing swapping objects to the other side if it would collide with the other character. Only critique is that it felt like it would be best played with 3 hands, as I kept having to swap one of my hands between the movement keys and the mouse.
Thanks! Yeah not sure how to tackle the controls issue but something to think about after the jam is done :)
-Enjoyment: It is very fun to move the objects to the other side and see what they become!
-Creativity: The 2 sided puzzles is an awesome idea and you should keep working on it!
-Presentation: The simple shape are is great with a nice color pallet~ If you keep working on it, some 2D lights and shadows would fit it well.
-Neat game indeed!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D
Thanks for the feedback!
Even before level 10, I've already been thinking "wow, there's a lot of content here" Amazing entry!
Thanks! I was actually worried I didn’t have enough levels 😅
I really like the asthetic! I love that you put a nice a narrative around the gameplay, they both work well together and make us want to keep playing to follow the story! Great work
Thank you for the feedback!
Great concept ! It was a little bit tricky to synchronize my hands ^^' The game is really unique and fun to play! GG! i love it
Thanks!
Great game, the graphics are cool! Nice theme interpretation!
Thanks!
Really cool idea. Reminds me somewhat of Portal 2's multiplayer, and maybe this game would be better served if it was intended for two people sharing the same keyboard - it would help alleviate the awkward controls. Good game and puzzles.
Yeah I tried to make it so that the game could be played by one or two people, but it does lead to some awkwardness. Thanks for playing!
Well this game can be a trash for some people but for me it's a treasure
I see what you did there ;)
Good idea for the theme and I liked the puzzles and style well done :)
Thanks!
Really interesting and fun puzzles! While the controls were a bit too floaty personally, solving the puzzles felt really satisfying. Good job! :)
Thanks for playing! Yeah I agree, the characters movement could be a bit more snappy, something to think about for post-jam improvments :)
This was excellent. It was very polished and there were a good amount of levels. Great job!
Thanks for playing!
AMAZING GAME!!!!
Thanks
I loved this! The visuals are simple yet very clean, elegant, and polished and I felt really invested in these two little rectangles' love story. There's a really good amount of content here too for something made in such a short amount of time. The one thing I didn't like was the controls. They didn't feel comfortable to me but I really don't know what you could've done differently.
I’m glad you liked the story! Yeah the controls are the ones thing I’m a bit iffy about. I tried to make it so that you only ever need to control one character at one time, or if you do need to control two characters that you don’t need to use the mouse, but there may have been some parts of levels I missed. Not perfect but the best I could do in the time, so something to think about for improvements after the jam :) Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Music hits you very loud in the beginning I wish there'd be a volume changer :(
Nice visuals, simple but readable and pleasant. Controls are a bit weird, and I don't mean the characters, I mean switching to mouse all the time while having both hands on keyboard for some levels. Feels not great imo.
I also liked the music, very catchy. SFX are fine too.
Sorry about the music, I was gonna include a volume slider and mute buttons but ran out of time. Have had a lot of feedback about the controls so I’ll try to find a way to improve that after the jam :) Thanks for playing!
This is an amazing platformer, and the amount of content is incredible for a 48-hour jam! I especially like the art style, which is simple, but the subtle bloom effect makes everything look great. I would say, though, that it feels like I need three hands to play it. I would recommend maybe only control with WASD but you can change which character you play as by clicking them. Just an idea.
I like making platformers as well, so you might like my games. If you have time, check them out!
Thanks for all the feedback! I’ll try to play your game today if I have time :)
