First of all: love the aesthetic. Truly an amazing game, and I’d love to see more things that look like this! The gameplay was pretty enjoyable overall, however I only made it to level three because the controls are… somewhat awkward to manage. A small complaint I have is that when you get stuck in a small space the wall bounce noise gets rather grating, and as such it may be beneficial to make it so there’s a bit of variation in future games! Overall, really well done!
Well executed. Can't wait for the sequel, Super Ramio 46
As a french person, I can confirm this is how we play Super Mario. Seriously tho, pretty dope game!
well done game! controls were a bit tricky. love the artstyle too!
I like the idea of moving the level instead of jumping. I kind of wish there was a way to adjust the mouse sensitivity though because the game requires a lot of moving the mouse up and down the entire screen quickly. The jumps might also be a bit easier to control the direction of if the gravity was decreased, and the character could be more floaty and easy to direct. Enjoyed the artstyle and the vibe of the game tho, good job :)
Thanks! Unfortunately we didn't have time to add this option, might do in an update after the jam ends
Nice gameplay and very cool graphics, a lot of content for 48h of work only, thanks and congrats for this nice little game!
A pretty good game! And the art is pleasant to look at!
The controls can make one feel a bit dizzy, and that's honestly the main problem I have with it. Also, the game doesn't really seem to do as much with world shifting gimmick. You could just make ramio run automatically and let player press the jump button instead of shaking the screen and it would be essentially a similar thing.
Had some fun playing this game, though!
This concept which is something I did in my own game initially was like yes this was what I was looking for. Of course, it's not exactly what I wanted, but it seemed closer than the other attempts I've seen. However, the controls to me feel very inconsistent, so jumping the right way was sometimes hard. I completed the first two levels, almost completed the third level and just gave up after some point. I kept dying the at the first level's pit. The second level actually ending up being the easiest. Now for the third level, first these controls should not be used for precise platforming at least for a third level. I actually tried doing something where using Chrome Remote Desktop I added touch controls to the game, and I ended up going with that for the rest of the game. That might have been a limitation of the jam, but a Wii U like setup with a touchscreen to control the game and a screen to look at could be the definitive way to experience the game though even this didn't fix the controls issues. Now, I actually almost finish the third level, but then the camera looked like it got stuck and then I lost. I ended up playing the fourth level later, and it turns out you can scroll. This to me was not initially intuitive. I gave up after the credits as even for a level like that the controls were still annoying. This game gave me some difficulty. Maybe that was the point, but most of the challenge came from the controls not working as I wanted. However despite all this, this game was probably one of the best I played so far.
Definitely agree that a few more levels to introduce the mechanics would have been great if we had more time. Thanks for the review!
Visuals, music and sounds are great. Decent "you are the platforms" take that didn't ruin gameplay completely, but I still felt like the controls were a little too hard on my wrists for my taste. For reference, I completed 2 levels and peaked at level 3 and 4.
Mario should be getting Pizza and Pasta, not Baguette😡 HAHAHA. Great concept and implementation tho. Keep it up!
this is fantastic, the concept is nice and the art is beautyful. the only bad thing is that mario is french
I liked the art, I found it quite hard to control though, very little forgiveness, maybe needs to be a little bit floatier on the jump?
Straightforward but novel concept of making a platformer character jump by forcing the world into them. It was fun getting the hang of the technique of maximizing your jump height and hang time!
There's definitely a (harsh) learning curve. I like to think that with more levels to introduce the mechanics step-by-step it'd be interesting to get better and better at it!
Looks amazing, sounds awesome, great idea, and a lot of fun! I was pretty bad at it, but I still had a blast. Physically grabbing and throwing around the game world is a great take on the theme. And the art made is very enjoyable to look at. Great game and great job!
The concept you used is very similar to mine, but I like your art style and gameplay more than mine even, 15/15!
We were actually wondering how many people would have a similar concept to ours, it's great to see your take on it!
I really liked the doodly art style and how smooth the physics was to play with. A lot of polish with the UI and I appreciate the happy music!! Good job!
It wa really fun to play this ! Great ideas and the art is really nice !
Beautiful art! True role reversal. Subconsciously I tried to keep Radio near the bottom edge of the screen, but you gotta fight that convention to progress. Smart!
Fun mechanics, nice music, interesting art, much potential in this project.
Love the art and the core mechanic. Level 3 was brutal lol.
Thanks! You should have seen the first version of this level, I still have nightmares about it...
