Awesome and cute art, the game gets suprisingly difficult when the third frog joins the battle. Good job!

Developer

Thank you; I super appreciate your kind words! :)

Developer

The third frog makes thing a lots harder, yes!^^ Before testing it I considered getting them up to 4, but quickly ruled that out. :p Thank you for your feedback!

This is amazing! The frogs are super cute, and helping them land while making music is so fun. Great job!

Developer

Thanks Kaboppel; super appreciate the kind words!! :)

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game and its interactive music. :)

Really cool! I love the art and the music  goes really well with vibe I get from the gameplay! Really relaxing and a great concept that could go further for sure! As the frogs kept coming, the 3 platforms definitely make it difficult to handle which makes for fun difficulty. Great job!

Thanks so much; I appreciate the kind words!!

I'm happy that you enjoyed the mechanics! Thank you for your comment.

No doubt, the most good-looking game of this jam! Such a great job!

Developer(+1)

Aww, thanks, that's very kind of you to say!! :)

Developer(+1)

Aww, thanks! That means a lot, given how many beautiful games there are in this jam.

Thank you so much for letting me experience this! I loved it. Everything about this is perfectly designed and petting the frogs was a BLISS. But just like I said: The design and art/animation, even the itch.io page is just perfection. Everything is cohesive. The colors match so beautifully and I am just really happy I was able to find this gem. Also I have to say it is a great music pick!

I hope that you work further on this idea in the future or that I can see more from you guys!

The ONLY thing that I think could be laid out as critique is that it gets really easy when you just put all the frogs on one lily pad. But thats only if it wasnt your intent to be easy.

Just in general I am very thankful for this experience <3

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for such a detailed comment, and for all the kind words!! The art in your game is gorgeous too — will be checking it out soon :)

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed it that much! :) We put a lot of efforts into art and music, it's sweet that it paid off.

Yup, the "one lily pad" strat makes the game pretty easy, even with 3 frogs. ^^' There were some back and forth on the difficulty, but in the end given that the strength of the game is its aesthetic, it's best than most player can see it through the end.

I do not plan to work on this game further, but I'll certainly make other projects! Thank you very much for your comment.

In that case I will be excited for upcoming games from you! :D

Beautiful little game! Love the difficulty progression too! Would love to see it expanded even further, hope you peeps continue to develop this :)

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed the difficulty, it was tricky to balance.

Expanding the game is not planned unfortunately. There are already other projects I'm working on. Then if there's enough demand, I guess I could release the 11 Frogs Mod. :p

Your game is really cozy and beautiful, I love the art style and music style of it! It is also a good reverse idea related to break breaker. Our game is also about music but we never thought about generative music design, this is awesome.

Developer

Oooh, you made a musical game too? I should definitely try this!

I'm happy that you liked the game. Thank you for your feedback!

Submitted(+1)

wow, this is beautiful! Excellent example of taking a simple game mechanic and just making it an absolute masterpiece. Incredible. I love it. Super well done! I had to constantly decide between saving my frogs and making sick ass music with the lily pads lol. Incredible experience!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I put a lot of effort into the interactive music system, I'm glad to hear that it was worth it and that players have fun making music.

Pretty good game, I liked the art

Developer

Nice to hear that you enjoyed it. Thank you!

Superb game! The artstyle is super warm and cozy, I love how the frogs jump to the music, the sound design complements said music well, and the gameplay is fun, even if it gets a bit difficult in later stages.

I don't really know how to describe it, but it feels like it has that same fun, interactive charm that a lot of old Wii channels had. Really cool overall!

Developer

Thanks so much, ACarr! Super appreciate your thoughtful feedback, and that charm piece is so kind of you to say :)

Developer

Thank you! :) Now that you mention it, maybe Nintendo games and systems UX is an indirect inspiration. Despite their sobriety, there's always some kind of playfulness in them. I'm really happy for the game to be compared to those.

Man, what a game! The art, music and gameplay. The only way I can describe it is "je ne sais quoi". Good job to everyone involved on this :D

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks so much, Mork! Flattered by your comment :)

Developer

Given the waltz, the accordion, and the frogs, a French expression seems on point to describe the game. Thank you!

Very cool and peacefully game!

The art is so nice and calm

The idea is cute

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback! :)

Developer

"Cute" was definitely one of our goal from the beginning, I'm happy to see we achieved it. Thank you for your feedback.

I LOVED this game! Everything about it feels so polished, from the amazing artwork, to the sound design. It felt so satisfying hearing the sounds of the frogs jumping and moving the lilypads around, it honestly amazes me how good the sounds and music are. The difficulty scaling feels just right to me, but I can see how it could get difficult juggling 3 different frogs haha

My only "criticism" is that the gameplay is little too simple, but honestly, the whole vibe and experience was what really had me hooked and I think with how good everything else is, I didn't even really notice until I had to dig real deep into my brain to think of anything bad to say.

Overall, absolutely beautifully polished short game!
:>

Developer

Thanks so much for your detailed comment and the kind words; I super appreciate your thoughtful feedback! Definitely understand where you're coming from with the gameplay critique... but glad it was a positive experience overall :)

Developer

Thank you for your detailed feed-back!

I understand what you mean for the gameplay. I had a hard time finding an idea (surprising given how cool the theme is), and while I'm still happy with the one I found, it lacks a "ha-ha" moment. So despite having truly "original" mechanics, I chose to focus more on polishing the experience. And, well, it payed off!

Wow, this is so poetic, I really really loved it. Congrats for it, it's really great!

Pfttt don't listen to that Roy guy , I got to pet the frogs hehe ! Very soothing game, the artstyle is gorgeous and the music is adorable. Good job!

Developer(+1)

HAHA glad you got to pet the frogs, and thank you for the kind words!! Will check out your game soon 🫡

Developer(+1)

Thanks. Congrats for making it to the end of the game!^^ I'm happy that you enjoyed the art and music.

Submitted(+1)

The artstyle is gorgeous! I can't understate that enough. The concept is fun, in practice the game was slightly too hard for me to keep up, but I love that the difficulty is progressive. An idea that could easily be expanded with different levels. Oh and lovely relaxing music too! Though as relaxing as the artstyle and music are, the gameplay itself was kind of stressful. I wonder how the gameplay could be made so that it keeps that relaxing feel.
Congrats to the team!

Developer(+1)

I appreciate you leaving such a detailed, kind comment! 💕 I'll take the blame for the difficulty increase haha, I felt like an earlier test build was too easy... I'm curious to hear what other people think about the progression! Will check out your game soon 🫡

Developer(+1)

Thank you! :D The difficulty was hard to balance yes. During development, it frequently oscillated between "infuriating" and "too boring". Having RNG in the chore mechanics probably doesn't help (all GMTK Jam games are doomed to have RNG). We had to compromise, in the end it seems to vary between players (I guess there are some winning strategies). Looking back now, I wonder if the game could have been less punishing if there was a floor (meaning you don't lose when frogs fall, it would just be another kind of penalty)?

Anyway, I'm very glad you enjoyed the mood of the game! Thank you for your feedbkack.
