I killed my alternate self so fast the first time because I did terribly. Really fun concept and definitely one of the more unique hunter/hunted ones I've seen. Great job!!

Developer

Thanks! Super happy to hear you found it original/unique

Creative concept with fun execution. I appreciated the thought that went into level design and the dual paths.

Interesting implications for speed running, and I wonder if there would be a way to reward variation between runs, like automatic caltrops? Overall, great job and I'm excited to see if you do decide to continue working on it!

Developer

Really happy to hear you enjoyed it!

We've got a few ideas to add variation/depth post game jam :)

Fancy graphics :)

It's hard to beat your new record right after you created it ^^

Developer

Glad you like them! It’s a little tricky right now, maybe a bit more balance work needed

Visuals are too good, and i love speedrunning.

Developer

Thanks for the great complement!

Submitted(+2)

Good for speedrunning, I ended up with 1 minute and 15 seconds, which is bad I think, but I still enjoyed playing it. Good job!

Developer(+1)

No such thing as a bad score! Glad you enjoyed playing, your game looks great!

Great idea, great twist! It needs to be improved to make the core concept more interesting, for now it can be simple if we just are slow on our first run. Well done!

Developer

For sure it needs tweaking but nice to hear you enjoyed the concept!

I really like the game and it's atmosphere! But the cost of a mistake is too highXD A good game for speedrun:D

Developer

Agreed, the game is a bit too punishing right now

Submitted(+1)

Nice concept and love the leaderboard of the game, similar to ours

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We’ll be sure to check yours out

Awesome proof of concept. With a little refining of the controls and some more levels this would make an excellent game. I like the drastic way momentum is lost if you make a mistake, and the time it takes to get it back, it makes mistakes feel meaningful - however, sometimes the mistake isn't the player's fault. In my opinion the jump is ever-so-slightly too low, I'm talking a few pixels' worth of height, just enough so that the player can get over ledges from a standstill. That, and for some reason the jump is sometimes VERY high.  Very fun! Well done :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, controls tuning is definitely something we’d like to work on

This is really fun to play.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed!

at first i was confused how this fit with the theme. I played it like a normal game and then.. Boom I'm chasing my past self, that was so cool! I did terribly on my first run so i caught myself pretty quick

Developer

Haha yep, you can make the game easy for yourself but then the faster you try to be the harder it becomes

Submitted(+1)

Very cool twist on the time trial style gameplay!

Developer

Thanks!

This is so great! Loved the mood and the atmosphere, and the role reverse moment was super well done!  I wasn't great at keeping my momentum up, but when I did get a little streak going it felt super satisfying!

Developer

The ‘cutscenes’ took a while to get right so I’m super happy you like them!

Submitted(+1)

That's a really gorgeous and great game you have created. The only problem I had with it was that I very often lost my complete momentum and gaining it took too long which made the whole game feel quite slow. If you'd maybe change a bit about that I'd just love the game.

But none the less it's a great jam entry. Keep it up!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Agreed the movement could do with some polish, glad you enjoyed it overall!

Submitted(+1)

Well done! This was a lot of fun. The art and music meshed well together, and the platforming was satisfying.

Developer (1 edit)

Really great to hear you found it fun! We started running out of time towards the end and didn’t have loads of time after making the mechanics, we’re super happy  it’s fun when put together

drive (2011) but we don't even need the car B)

Developer

Haha! May or may not be one of our favourites!

Submitted(+1)

Really dug the idea of this! Also neat how the theme reveals itself after the first run. Like some folks said the pacing felt a bit weird sometimes but overall nice jam entry!

Developer

Thanks for checking out our game, lover the artwork on yours!

Thank you :D

Amazing game! Super cool idea, and super polished! Controls felt a little unwieldy at times, but ă͕lļ͖̈͊ ͙̏t͢͝ḥ̟̐͘e ̠̏͛͢b̢͙̎̚ę̮͐̚t̜͙͐͒te͊ͅr͚͂ ̲͑̏͜to̰͒ ͉̩̅̂g͙͗e̤̦̔̚ṭ͛ m͔̙̃͠e̙̬͆̓ ̱͘s͇̑o̹͕͂̊o̮̝͐̎n̨̚e̯͍͊͠r͂ͅ.

10/10, love it!

Developer

Thanks for playing, the feedback is super helpful!

Main mechanic is interesting. Though it seems like performing well on the first run is a bad thing.  Aesthetic is really awesome, especially with the text and effects. I also had about a half second of input delay (probably Itch being weird).

Developer (1 edit)

Glad you enjoyed it! Performing well on the first run does make it harder but it enables you to get quicker times. I think web builds can sometimes be a bit fiddly, haven’t personally experienced any delays but the windows app should be better if you’re having issues.

Submitted(+1)

The idea is good but the gameplay is a bit weird, its either really fast or really slow, but overall i liked it, good job.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Agreed, with more time we would have fine tuned it some more
