The day/night cycle is a great idea and I like that you see how many different moths you caught on camera at the end

Great idea! Would love to have a timer or countdown on the camera. But this is a really nice jam submission, Congrats!
I like the idea of it getting dark to increase the difficulty during the second half, in a way that works so well with the mechanics of the game
This definitely feels like a passion project, so glad the theme allowed you to express your passion for moths! Gameplay was pretty cool, though I will say the moths feel quite janky, and maybe there should be a bit more challenge in that they might slowly fly away if you drop them into frame too early, and you have to try and get them back in. That said, for 48 hours this is still really good, and that stuff is more for further development. Also, really like the art! Overall, great job!
Really creative concept. I kinda love it. It's so out of the box, and the gameplay is pretty fun!
A photography game where you control the photographees is such an inspired take on the theme, and so seamless too.
Really fun game, I got 230 on my first run with 6/8 moths. The late game where everything goes dark is a great idea.
nice work! it's a bit hard for me with the color contrast, tho I don't know if it's just because of me that is colorbind.
can be explored more like different way to lure bugs. it's a great base for an extended idea!
maybe share the photos we got too from the run so that it will becomes our trophy. good job either way!
i got 140 in my first run.
250 on my second run!
LOVED the mechanic where you hold down the mouse and have to let go right before it reached the final red color of the frame!
Awesome gameplay and a rewarding feeling points system.
Other than another pass on the art (if you wanted to keep going from here)
i would recommend a full screen white flash when the camera goes off and then kind of scatter the moths so you have to wrangle em in again.
Really cool concept, and a very creative take on the theme.
Fun game, I think you did the tutorial really well. We were having trouble finding a way to present all of the necessary information without overwhelming people and having them just leave or click through it.
I also really like the flip to the pokemon snap genre, and the pixel art moths look great. If you wanted to keep working on it after the game jam I'd be interested to see what you had to cut.
Thank you so much, I didn't write it specifically on the description but I said to myself I specifically wanted to reverse pokemon snap. The fact that you used the same words makes me really happy.
And yeah writing tutorials is hard! I always run into trouble writing more than what people are willing to read :'). Thanks again and glad you enjoyed it.
Very cute and charming game! Got 330 score myself, 6 out of 8 moths!
I struggled a bit with keeping the moths in view, though! They wandered - sorry, I mean flew - quite randomly so once I lured the moths in frame it was up to chance if they stayed in.
A random alternative I had in my mind is that you'd have X amount of lights, and you could place them and move them around, enabling and disabling them as needed?
Still though, I love that you incorporated your love for moths and that you went the extra mile with the sprites!
I got 80! And 4/8 moths, getting to see which moths I got was a nice touch, I might need to come back and collect them all! I also learned that I don't know much about the moths of my home state, I should study up!
I really like the night vision/binoculars effect as well!
