Nice concept. Could result in a complete puzzle game :)

The character can be taken abroad by putting platforms underneath him. It's pretty cool.
Despite I already saw this idea you really created something unique there, i like it! I would love to see this more polished and expanded after the jam!
For game made in 8 hours pretty good job. There are lot of things missing like restart button and goal, but I still have great time. I pushed the character in the wall by mistake and then I tried so hard to get him out. After I let him free I was happier than I've been after beating some other game jam games.
Lol I never thought about that^^ I know he can get stuck with his head in corners but I thought well the chances are not high but acording to the comments they are higher than I thought
I already made a "restart on E" but it crashed the game so I just commented it out for the upload until I find a fix
I'm glad you had fun
Really solid start! Getting something out there for a jam is never an easy feat, especially with so little time, so the fact you even made something playable in 8 hours is a huge accomplishment ^^
That being said, the UI covered a huge chunk of the bottom screen, and placing blocks felt a little slow with needing to re-click the button after placing something down. If you barely end up using the top of the screen for platforming, that might be a great spot to place your UI elements! I'd also recommend finding a way to either drag/drop blocks into the game, or have it so you can keep placing the same type of block as long as you initially selected it.
Otherwise, impressive work so far! Hope things go well if you decide to develop this game further ^^
Thank you so much for your feedback!
And yes I agree letting the player palce multiple of the same element until rightclick or he chooses another is something that has to be implemented.
I am still not shure about the UI that depends if I want to let the player place down everything and choose when the character runs or just let the character run and die a whole lot and the player adjusts in real time...
Great Idea! I couldn't make much progress but I like the concept and art is cool. As a suggestion, I would reduce the size of the menu and place it somewhere else, perhaps on top.
Really nice concept! I hope you have time to polish your game as much as you want after the Jam.
Neat concept, would love to see it fleshed out more with puzzles etc., but I totally get running out of time during a game jam :)
Some things that I think would improve the experience would be:
- Moving the piece selection buttons to the top of the screen so that they aren’t covering where the player goes (the character got stuck on something behind one once and it took me a while to figure out what had happened).
- Making the pieces snap to the grid might make the final level players create feel more consistent with the pre-built parts of the level.
- Working on the character’s collider, in particular its interaction with platform corners. Also I’m not sure if the wall-jumping was intentional or not, but it was cool, so maybe some animations to make that clearer.
All things considered, a neat little sandbox and I hope you keep working on it :)
Nice concept, i liked that the caracter is fast, however i got stuck in the top of the screen at some point. Maybe you could add a reset button to reset the level.
Nice game! There were a few small bugs I found, but overall it's pretty good. Good work!
Hey there! I appreciate your effort and creativity in developing that game mechanic.
While it may not fit your current game jam best, it could shine in a different context.
Hold onto it for your next project or game jam, and don't hesitate to add some game goals, music, and beautiful art to make it even more impressive.
Keep up the great work!
Had some fun messing around with the little character, managed to get him stuck in a box which was funny, until I freed him. Cool concept and i'm sure if you had more time i'd be good fun!
