Nice concept. Could result in a complete puzzle game :)
Thank you - it's still far from it not like yours^^
Clever pun of a title! :D I do hope you continue working on this; I know it would be very popular
Thank you very much! I always have problems going back to my jam games^^ also because when the time is short my code start to become unreadable xD
that is very relatable
The character can be taken abroad by putting platforms underneath him. It's pretty cool.
Thank you for playing my game
Despite I already saw this idea you really created something unique there, i like it! I would love to see this more polished and expanded after the jam!
Thank you!
love the idea and the gameplay
Thank you!
For game made in 8 hours pretty good job. There are lot of things missing like restart button and goal, but I still have great time. I pushed the character in the wall by mistake and then I tried so hard to get him out. After I let him free I was happier than I've been after beating some other game jam games.
Lol I never thought about that^^ I know he can get stuck with his head in corners but I thought well the chances are not high but acording to the comments they are higher than I thought
I already made a "restart on E" but it crashed the game so I just commented it out for the upload until I find a fix
I'm glad you had fun
Really solid start! Getting something out there for a jam is never an easy feat, especially with so little time, so the fact you even made something playable in 8 hours is a huge accomplishment ^^
That being said, the UI covered a huge chunk of the bottom screen, and placing blocks felt a little slow with needing to re-click the button after placing something down. If you barely end up using the top of the screen for platforming, that might be a great spot to place your UI elements! I'd also recommend finding a way to either drag/drop blocks into the game, or have it so you can keep placing the same type of block as long as you initially selected it.
Otherwise, impressive work so far! Hope things go well if you decide to develop this game further ^^
Thank you so much for your feedback!
And yes I agree letting the player palce multiple of the same element until rightclick or he chooses another is something that has to be implemented.
I am still not shure about the UI that depends if I want to let the player place down everything and choose when the character runs or just let the character run and die a whole lot and the player adjusts in real time...
Great Idea! I couldn't make much progress but I like the concept and art is cool. As a suggestion, I would reduce the size of the menu and place it somewhere else, perhaps on top.
Well there isn't much progress to be made yet^^
Thanks for playing
Really nice concept! I hope you have time to polish your game as much as you want after the Jam.
Thank you. will have to think about if I continue with it
Neat concept, would love to see it fleshed out more with puzzles etc., but I totally get running out of time during a game jam :)
Some things that I think would improve the experience would be:
All things considered, a neat little sandbox and I hope you keep working on it :)
Thank you so much for your feedback! And yes the walljumping was intentional and a pain to make work xD
moving the piece section is an idea or make a real overlay which limits the camera - but that will depend on the level design
And snapping is also a good idea
Really nice concept, the player ai is really good and it doesnt work against you like most "AI-s" do
Also the graphics are cool but you do have that weird edge splitting glitch which can be easily fixed if you find a few tutorials.
Overall nice game!
Thank you for your feedback! The solutions I found weren't rly clean either so I left it for now also I forgot to fix the camera resolution....^^
Nice concept, i liked that the caracter is fast, however i got stuck in the top of the screen at some point. Maybe you could add a reset button to reset the level.
Yep that was still on my to do list as well as actual goals^^ thanks for playing
Good concept! Nice starting point for a great game!
Thank you
Few bugs here and there (got stuck a couple times) but overall enjoyable as a mini-sandbox, would love to see a full game made out of this.
Nice game! There were a few small bugs I found, but overall it's pretty good. Good work!
Thanks for checking out my game
I like the pace, many games with this approach felt too slow, yours is very quick and instantaneous.
Thank you! Yes I myself enjoy quicker games^^
Hey there! I appreciate your effort and creativity in developing that game mechanic.
While it may not fit your current game jam best, it could shine in a different context.
Hold onto it for your next project or game jam, and don't hesitate to add some game goals, music, and beautiful art to make it even more impressive.
Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for your input!
Had some fun messing around with the little character, managed to get him stuck in a box which was funny, until I freed him. Cool concept and i'm sure if you had more time i'd be good fun!
Im glad you had fun with the mechanic alone - means I'm on the right track if I continue with it^^
Pretty fun concept. It was surprisingly puzzle like trying to figure out where to place elements. I wish there was some more level to it.
Yes levels with challenges and the character dying over and over until the player gets the platform placement just right was my goal^^
Rather similar game to mine but it is still a rather good sandbox game to play in.
Thank you very much!
