Kind of like an inventory manager mechanic. I liked it! Of course the best part is the voice acting! Especially for the UFO sounds. Haha!

Developer

Ha, it's always fun to add silly voices like this! Glad you liked it, thank you for playing!

Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! Thank you!

It's mindblowing how you guys managed include voice acting in such a small timeframe. I also loved the idea of aliens saving the city instead of the usual "destroy humanity" shenanigans. The city builder aspects were also cool!

Developer

Thank you, we always try to take a quick break to make silly voices! This was quite a tricky one to design for this year, so we're glad that the theming came across well for you!

Fun concept and the exposition is great! Difficult game though :P The assets are all pretty high quality and the indications for where the dangers are and are going were a nice touch.
The sunami was a bit much to deal with right off the bat though. Would be nice with a bit more gradual increase in difficulty and maybe a bit more foresight (to allow for planning ahead before the danger is already dangerous).
Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We wanted to leave some time at the end of developing for balancing the difficulty, but that just takes a lot more time than we were expecting! Maybe next time! Glad you had fun!

I definitely know that feeling :)

Good idea! Searched for cows, but didn't find such Easter egg :D Had 7th place after play in rank table! Wish you good luck!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I really wanted to get cows in as an easter egg but no time!!

Really like the idea here and the style is perfect! I also love the fact that you have a leaderboard as well at the end!

Developer

That's lovely to hear! We've tried putting leaderboards in the last few jams and this is the first time it's actually worked, so it's wonderful to see that people are liking it!

wow the performance is really fantastic. I love the newspaper and UFO design! It feels like we are in the future.

Developer

I'm glad that it ran smoothly for you! The browser version seems to be having issues for some people. And thank you, we had fun designing it all!

Submitted(+1)

I love the idea and REALLY dig the transition from the newspaper into the game. I wish the controls were a bit easier to slide into the right spot. I was struggling with moving just one space to the side. Otherwise, GREAT work.

In general though, awesome job on a 48 hour jam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, we're quite proud of the transistions! And, yes, we would have liked to make the gameplay a bit snappier, but that's just how gamejams go!

Submitted

Oh for sure. You guys put together something nice and clean overall. Be proud!

The voice acting was pretty funny

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! It was a blast to record!

^^ nice voice acting :D! Web version is a little laggy but still playable ;-) .

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yeah we had some performance issues we couldn't nail down, but if you ever want to replay the PC version runs better!

I like how many ways this game incorporated the theme, and the voice acting adds a lot of charm. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! We had a lot of fun with the voice acting. We made a recording booth out of a table and some blankets!

It’s an interesting idea but the audio at least in the web browser seems really chaotic and it’s very distracting, but the game itself is solid.

Developer

Thank you for playing! Despite our Audio guys best efforts I implemented the audio quite late and didn't get time to tweak it!

I love your VO

Developer

Thank you! We had a lot of fun recording. Glad you enjoyed it.

Looks great and super polished.

Simple and fun mechanic, my movement was slightly clunky but that might be my old PC trying to run this game properly, I'm not sure. Regardless it was fun!

Developer(+1)

We did run into some performance issues with the webgl  build that we didn't have time to address :( But thank you for playing despite that! And thank you got your kind words!

Wow really great game! Especially the artstyle, the transition from intro to gameplay and the idea are very impressive and the music is really good and fitting too. With just a bit more balancing and making the game feel more rewarding, it would've been perfect

Developer

That's a very lovely compliment, thank you! Yes, we would love more time to balance, but that's just how it goes in a gamejam! Really glad you enjoyed it!

Great Concept, Nice art and detail!

Developer

Thank you for playing! We're glad you liked it!

Wonderful intro and outro! Extremely well polish. Top notch

Developer

Glad you liked it! We're very proud of this one, especially the transitions! Thank you for playing!

Great entry! Glad I checked the Discord for it :)

Gives me a bit of Futurama vibe btw :D

I love the style (sound design was hilarious) and simple mechanics, though I didn't use rotation as moving seemed to be enough. And the highscore part was a really good idea!

Developer

Thank you, that's lovely to hear! Yes, you can get by without rotating, and in an ideal world we'd balance it better to need it to be efficient, but that's just the way gamejams go! Glad you enjoyed it!

The visuals are fantastic and the gameplay and mechanics are very simple but enjoyable, overall a good game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! We had more complex mechanics in mind but just didn't have the time unfortunately. Wanted to add an asteroid, and have a smog affect that built up if you put buildings too closely together! Maybe next time!

The art and vfx is very good. I like the voicelines and the newspapers are great and funny. While the concept is interesting, the controls feel really bad and jank. There's a huge delay between my inputs and the movement, at least on the browser (not sure if that's intended). It's also somewhat laggy, but that might be a problem on my end. Overall still very good job :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Unfortunately the webgl build seems to be suffering from performance issues that we couldn't resolve within the time period. It was running at 300 fps in the editor but struggling in the browser. But that's just game jams! Glad you enjoyed it despite the controls!
