How does your game fit the theme?
Flip 'N' Burn is a deck builder where every card can be flipped for an opposite, more powerful effect, but at the cost of "burning" (losing) that card for the rest of the fight. Reversing the cards reverses the effect!

The character art is so nice and has so much personality for each one!

Loved the card art style and being able to "steal" the opponents card on victory.

I saw the art on the banner and knew I just gotta try this game, it was worth it :)

This looks and plays great! The card game is actually quite cool and the burn mechanic adds a bit of curiosity to the cards. I would love to see more risk though cause atm. burning the card is mainly a reward since you get so many cards in your deck fast. Anyway, great entry!

This is actually similar to a concept I've been working on for awhile! Would love to chat sometime with you and your team!

Art is super cute and has some fun mechanics  from the looks of it! Can't wait to take a go at playing it when I have some time!

Wow this game is cool! I hoped to see a card game in the jam and this didn't disappoint. Love the art style, and the concept of destroying cards for powerful, single-use abilities. Some enemy moves aren't too clear as to what they're going to do, but it's no real issue. Awesome submission, like it a lot!

Super polished deck building game, well done! I love the art style and the variety of cards and effects -- also the hero reminds me a lot of Anya from Spy x Family which is always a pro! Great great job

Really fun card game with beautiful art and fun mechanics! I really enjoyed the final boss haha. I wish some of the other enemies indicated their attacks as well as the final boss did but oh well. Will have to replay when you add more of the art!

The final boss is actually based on programmer art 😂 Glad you enjoyed it! We'll update all the text to make it much clearer after the jam too. :D

This is my most favorite game so far. It reminds me of an old card game "Unlight" where you can flip the cards. I've been wanted to make a game like this. (Well actually I'm trying to make a game like this.)

Great work.

Developer(+1)

Ooh, so Unlight has cards where you can see both outcomes on the front side, that's a good way to do it - we've had some problems with people not knowing what's on the other side. Thank you for the kind feedback!

I love deck building games!

This was fun to play :)  I dont know how I would've survived that -5 damage debuff every turn without the bug haha.

Great job!

Interesting idea, loved the characters and the card details. Especially the paper effect was great.

Absolutely love the art and this was an incredible interpretation of the theme! Scooping up a bunch of neat new cards at the end of a fight reminded me why I like deckbuilders so much. Well done all around! Can't wait to come back for the goblin and siren cards.

The art style is cool, but I wish there was some indication that I inflicted damage or got damaged as sometimes I will be surprised that I have low health. It's a great short deck builder game and I hope you continue to add more content.

Developer

We're planning to add a bunch of animations post jam which should help with that, and just slow the fights down a bit by handling each thing one by one so you can take in everything that happens between turns. We'll make sure we add an indication of low health with graphics and sound too. Thanks a lot for all the feedback!

This is genuinely such an incredible art style - Very impressed with the complexity of the card system, especially with it having been created in 48 hours! My favorite game so far, by far

I absolutely LOVED the textured, analog-feeling art of this — feels almost like a flecked gouacheboard / stiff construction paper, and perfect for a deckbuilder! Would be super curious to hear/see more of the process behind the character creation and art.

This also has some of my favorite gameplay out of the games I've tried so far, and the thematic additions to the deck are super fun. Fantastic work; I hope you explore this concept more in the future!

Amazing character design! I imagine you will get a lot of clicks alone from people wanting to check out these cool characters, so really well done there. The game itself looks great although I wish there was more motion. The card game was fun and engaging and I got all the way to the end, but I sort of wish the cards had more unique effects rather than just "Deal 8 damage" "Gain 8 shield". Overall though, really solid game, and I think more people should check this out.

Wow I'm amazed y'all pulled that off in just 48 hrs! Art and mechanics are super impressive! Well done!

It's almost hard to believe this was made in 48 hours! Super impressive. As a huge Slay the Spire fan I've played a ton of deckbuilders and some actually paid games on steam were a lot less engaging and visually appealing than this. Amazing work!

I loved this! Totally my type of game. The art was also really charming and had some neat character designs. The risk-reward concept of being able to burn cards in your deck is a sweet idea. Awesome work!
