How does your game fit the theme?
Flip 'N' Burn is a deck builder where every card can be flipped for an opposite, more powerful effect, but at the cost of "burning" (losing) that card for the rest of the fight. Reversing the cards reverses the effect!

So cute! and the concept is super cool too.
Wonderful game! Kept me playing until the end! Awesome job on design card effects, art style, and different enemy cards. Well made!
Really fun game play and good art, you did really well!
Great game! I love the art and I'm surprised by the amount of assets that were made! Had to check and only two person team, wow!
The gameplay was also good. I love card games and this was very Slay the Spire which I love. I liked the idea of burning your cards for a more power effect, and it being a game of resources because your burn through your deck. The one issue I see with the mechanic is that I was actually very beneficial to me to burn my own cards haha. Removing the bad cards make your deck more powerful because you draw the good cards more often. I was even able to beat it :3. I think a way to make it so you don't want to remove your base cards could be to balance it by making them have very strong burn effects, so it would make sense to save them for later fights. For example, there is this snake card that does 8 damage for 1 mana which is busted, so I always preferred to have that than any of the base cards. But if the base cards could be burned for a lot, maybe even more than that, then I wouldn't have been so quick to burn them all...
Anyways, it was very fun for a jam game. I feel like there is a potential for a longer game here, just need to play around with the burn mechanic :). And of course, the art was very cute!
Will rate the game after I finish with my queue!
Wow, thank you so much for all the in-depth feedback, it's so valuable to us! We're talking about potentially making a longer version and thinking about ideas like base cards not having burn sides (so you have to get rid of them another way)or having burned cards be gone forever. I definitely want to make it so burning cards has both pros and cons and it becomes a weighted decision (which will also be more worthwhile in a much harder game too where you have to burn cards when you make mistakes and find yourself in a bad spot)
Thanks again for playing and all the feedback!
(Also I agree the snake card really is so busted. So is poison in its current state 😂 They were both my speedrun strats when testing haha!)
That's cute, interesting mechanics actually, might be a cool addition to the games like that, but it seems to be really imbalanced lol. Anyway, the balance is fixable, the game was pretty fun to play!
Really nice art and music.A bit confused about what's the enemy's move each turn and why I cannot use some cards. It's very enjoyable though!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!! The art is Beautiful and the game is so fun to play!!!
I really really really like the sounds and the art. One thing I hope you could implement after the jam is more visual feedback for each thing you do. (maybe card tweens a bit when picked up, some effects on hit, etc). Right now it just lacks that oomph, in each action you take. I'm a really big fan of slay the spire, and the mechanic you introduced was a great spin! I'm so glad you made the back side quite op, and not just -5 instead of +5 and anything like that.
I also think more weaker fodder enemies would be great. If expand upon this, maybe add some weaker enemies that are easy to defeat, but incentivizes the player to use some of their backsides before you face the elite.
Will definitely play the game again if it pops up on NewGrounds or something.
I enjoyed my time playing the game!
Great Game! Will play again if it gets updated!
I didn't understand how I could reverse the cards because neither the game nor the description teach the player how to do it. Good presentation though.
I've added how to flip cards to the description now. Thank you for pointing this out!
Incredible art! Love the execution.
This art is ADORABLE!! Such a solid style and solid game play and I love the play on role reversal you did! My only criticism -- and this is super nitpicky stuff, I find the music just a bit too quiet and the sfx a bit too loud -- I do like the bgm being quieter than the sfx I just think they need to be levelled a bit closer together. Overall, I really hope this gets a full release! Awesome job y'all!
Super cute take on the theme -- "roles reversed" in the sense of a literal reversal of your RPGish character's role is absolutely so cute and fun, and the mechanic is perfect for a deckbuilder! Love love love the art style too!!
Wow, really fun
Great art style. Thanks for making this game.
Art style is wonderful and game mechanic is really cool. Great work for 48 hours.
Really nice art style and quite polished card game! I enjoyed it.
The game wasn't very hard... And honestly, it doesn't need to be!
I love the idea of "reversing the role" of the card, not to mention the gorgeous art! Really an eye candy of an artstyle!
Thank you! We followed game jam rules of make it easier rather than harder, but I'm excited to see how far we can push the difficulty later on :D
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
Yeah, I think, I haven't followed that rule that well, heh...
The game looks stunning. The mechanic seems interesting, however typically removing a card from your deck is considered a positive, as it improves your consistency of drawing cards you actually want to use.
Yeah for sure. I think it will add an extra layer of strategy if we make harder levels in the future, but I think the game is much too easy for that right now.
Thank you for playing, really appreciate the feedback!
the game was fun and i am in love with the art style! i could easily see this expanded to a full game
Thank you so much! We're definitely going to add more cards and a few other things post jam :D I'm glad you like the art - the cards were 100% "OH NO I HAVE NO TIME LEFT" but I feel like it worked out really well 😂
