They say that it's always the merchant who is profiting greatly if there's a war. And now I know why. Lol. Great job!
its a little hard to figure out what to do at first, but once i got the hang of it it was pretty fun!
I wanted more sore that's a good thing, the heroes won and that's all that matters though
Pretty neat concept! I can see some rather deep potential in it.
I think UX would be my biggest issue with the game. The font for the gold cost of the items is pretty hard to read, doubly so when the icons are bobbing up and down in that wave pattern.
I'm also not sure if there's enough of an incentive to buy items for the enemy team.
Good job on the submission!
Thanks for the feedback! UX def needs some work and I only was really able to play through the game with the current item numbers once so numbers were a little finicky. I was going for something like if you only sold to the heroes you would not make enough money before they won so you'd have to also sell to villians to keep the game going and get more money but it could def be fixed, and the total time could be reduced. Thank you!
Really cool idea! The presentation of battle area can be polished better though,
It's a cool idea, but I would also like to request a tutorial. Nice work though!
-Enjoyment: It was fun seeing the battle field and also trying to decide what to click in the shop.
-Creativity: Super creative idea!
-Presentation: Looks a bit janky, but I think that actually adds to the charm!
-Neat game indeed!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D
Actually seeing the heroes fight was really nice and it showing their items too was a great touch, there was a bit too much waiting for me but otherwise great entry!
It feels like Dota, but you're a quartermaster, and the shopkeeper doesn't seem to be from our side. It's uncertain, let's take another look.
Super fun! great job team (:
OOo love it, I play a lot of league of legends so right down my alley. I had 931 gold at the end so didn't win, but the heroes beat the villans so there's that!
I like playing it, had trouble understanding how the game was working but after understanding it i had a lot of fun playing it!
Thanks for the feedback, a tutorial would definitely help out a lot
Great fledgling little game with a unique idea using the GJ theme! I don't know if I felt in the moment that my decisions of what to stock in the shop mattered, but I did feel like something was happening.
Thank you! That's great to hear as I was definitely going for that effect, impacting the long-run of the game instead of instantly
Coming back to say- I did leave the game open in another tab and kept coming back to play a little bit more, so it definitely has a hook!
Curious the idea of having to balance teams in order to make money but letting the heroes win!
I initially didn't get the point of the game, since I'm not that familiar with MOBAs and icons in the battle screen are a bit tiny, but once you get it is pretty interesting. The only problem is that the game is long as a MOBA hehe. Nice game, congrats!
Balance was definitely the hardest part and what I wish I could have tackled with more time, but despite the length I think it landed at a fine spot. Thanks so much!
I really like the idea!! Money is money. But you should try to look for similar art styles when you can't make the art. I know 48 hours are to little to make everything perfect of course. The second screen where the battle was happening felt too extra. You should either improve to make it more understable or create another kind of system to show of who was winning. Overall a fun experience!!
Thanks for the feedback! The battle screen was mainly to show off the interactions happening that I didn't want to obfuscate but that might be better for clarity. Next I'll definitely have art style more consistent I was just trying to throw things together this time haha. Glad you enjoyed!
I love the idea. Something i really like is the fact that you can sell items to both teams, business is business after all.
Maybe the only problem is the font used for the items. I mistaked the < + > sign for a < - > and was selling all those items to the bad guys. I was getting a lot of money though...
The art is really good, althouh that stare the shopkeeper is givin is problably scaring customers...
Super original and fun. Great job!
Thank you so much! Appreciate the art comment but the only thing I didn't get from free assets was the map display haha. Thanks for the feedback once I can go back to it I'm definitely starting with the item text, I don't like how some skip lines weirdly too
To be honest, it's better to have a nice looking game with someone's else art than a bad looking game. Presentation matters more than what people think.
I've also noticed the problem with the text, but those are just details you don't see when there is less than an hour left. So don't worry, that can be fixed after the jam :)
It felt too complicated
Nice take on the theme! poor shop keeper that never gets the atention that they deserve
For real. Thanks for playing!
a really cool idea. the graphics are not the best but i like the war simulation
Art's definitely not my strong suit haha thank you!
I like the idea of selling the equipment and bonuses to the heros and villains to influence the battle. Unfortunately I did not really understand how the battles where going. Would maybe have helped if there was a overal progress bar for either team.
Thanks for the feedback! I have little healthbars on each token but its small so I can see the confusion. Things are already fairly cluttered in there 😂
I was also wondering when and what they would prefer to buy.
Because I already had my hands full time-wise most of the AI is really dumb, they buy whatever they can (not a repeat of an item they have, they can afford it, not full on items) randomly after they respawn as they move out onto the field until they can't anymore. I'm thinking of expanding this with different roles for characters that prefer certain items and also adding magic, physical, healing aura, etc items to match.
