Really like the idea of it! I found myself locked out of progressing the first time around because of losing the wood gathering room- maybe there might be another way to gather wood, or a prompt to remind the player to build another wood room? Otherwise game had a distinct style and wit to it. Congrats on the game!

A common one might be defending the Gooper from enemies, or maybe introducing some building mechanics? Like building an auto-miner that can automatically mine over time, but requires one or more units to spend a longer amount of time to build?

Interesting use of the theme, and a type of game I haven't yet encountered in the jam yet! I enjoyed how the game started simply, seemingly only interrogating two people, but quickly spun into needing to question multiple people. Looking further down the comments, it seems it goes even deeper than what I encountered! Congrats on this big project!

I enjoyed the more melee-based combat of this one, it was something different than most VS-like games! The art style was also really cohesive. Like another person said, giving the player the choice of what type of unit (or strengthening a type of unit?) would give the player more agency over how the game goes. But ultimately, good job on having the game work well the way it is!

I enjoyed the idea and strategy of the game! The balance between "good" and "evil" decisions gives it another level of complexity that doesn't let the player just hoard a bunch of resources without worry.

I really enjoyed the game! It took a little bit for me to get a handle on the controls, but I think I got a handle on it. Still was a bit challenging, which is definitely partly a skill problem on my end. The art and music had a cohesive style!

I might suggest removing one or two of the initials bats to give the player more of a chance to get a handle on the game and get that first power-up, but otherwise if this is intended to be a difficult game, I think it provides a healthy challenge. Well done on the game!

This is a game I could lose hours to, especially if it's fleshed out even more with added mechanics or sub-mechanics. Also amazing just for the fact this was done as a game jam game!

Cheers to a smooth Saturday during next GMTK to both of us!

Neat little game! There were multiple moments of figuring out a small "secret" mechanic that made me smile. Cute aesthetics and just long enough to prove the concept! Well done!!

This game really is just on another level. Really well done! Saw this on a stream and had to play it myself. I and I'm sure others would be really interested in seeing this game expanded in the future!

Very well polished game! Really gives the impression of what is possible in a Game Jam. Plays smoothly. I didn't find myself using the gnaw mechanic much at all, but I'm sure there's further progression possible that would make the player rely on it further.

Really clever! I really enjoyed that some sections require the player to use the blueprint to see where they are going- it adds another layer of complexity to puzzling things out in the 3D space.

This is pure gold as a little Game Body experience, and even more so being an actual GB Rom! If this gets expanded further in the future, I'd love to play it.

Once I understood the end goal was the green square(s), everything started clicking into place. You've hit that "puzzle solution satisfaction" feeling with the puzzles- once the you have to start squashing shapes to fit the goal, it makes you feel clever when you make the solution shape. Well done!

I  see  what  you  did  there ;) Thanks for your kind words!

I'll add your idea to the list of possible ways to get the player to read! Another thought I have is to only expose a paragraph or a couple sentences at a time, then reveal more as the player finds all the words. Some amalgamation of all these thoughts will add up to something, surely :)

The transition of music from mouse to human is really epic! I think this is a really good proof of the concept that could be expanded to a larger game! Well done!!

Really great game! The three different forms add complexity and interest to the platforming, and there's a clear style design across the graphics and sound. Well done!

Enjoyed the idea of it, and it has future potential! I could see even more types of tasks being used to expand the types of mechanics the player interacts with.

Fun, arcade-y frenzy! Well done on getting a good feeling game!

Really cool that it is built in Scratch! There's a bit of wit that makes it have some charm. My one comment is to possibly have the camera the slightest bit more zoomed out to see where the player can go next.

Witty, meditative, and real. Even though it was tongue-in-cheek and not the initial idea, it turned into a little narrative game! I understand that Saturday head-against-wall very well, and congrats on the submitted game!!

Really great for your first game! The idea and structure are strong! There's some things to fix and refine as in all things, but really good effort! It's a submitted video game in a game jam! :)

It's a start of the game! The pieces are coming together and it definitely has a set style. Even if there's some rough patches, it's still a success having a submitted game!

Goofy lil' minigame! Took a few moments to get the mechanics down of drawing the mouse back to fling the gnomes further, but after that I was into the tense nature of saving the ship. One thought I had was that a custom, larger cursor would make it easier for the player to track where their mouse cursor is during play. On the flip side, it would make for a fun mobile game as well!

Definitely has style! There's definitely some strong bones that with further refinement would make for a good, goofy game!

Really intriguing take on the theme! Well crafted for in all regards for a small game made in a small amount of time.

A fun little platformer! It feels like a good proof of concept that could be taken further to be a full game.

Cool twist on Tetris to fit the theme! I think as an idea it works, and forces you to think about the game in another way.

Really enjoyed the tongue-in-cheek nature of the game! I was hooked to keep seeing how far the devolution would go. Felt like a great browser game from the olden days, like when we were all on Bindows XP ;)

The idea of secret ledges or changing mechanics via moving the square is a cool concept!

I'm really in love with the concept and think this has a good future forward, but I had a lot of trouble with getting clicks to register to send troops, almost universally for all camps/forts. With that worked on, I think it's would be great!

(1 edit)

Between the graphics, music, other SFX, and gameplay, the game really feels like one of those old high quality browser games that one could play in ye olden days. Well done to the team! My only comment is that the book of recipes can start to be pretty small once getting to stage two and beyond.

I liked the idea behind the game! Like others have said, in the current iteration it may be too vague or obtuse for what the player should do, but that all would be refined with further development. :)

It's a charming little game! Took a couple moments to figure out the eating mechanic required holding the Eat button rather than just pressing it (unless my timing is just terribly off), but it is a mechanic that fits the theme and could make for an interesting take on platformers!

I think I see the potential of the game and it going in a good direction, but I wasn't quite sure what the machines were intended to do, and what I should be doing to make sure I didn't lose besides some amount of adding tiles to the edges.

Cool concept, and seems to have potential for further expansion!

Really cool proof of concept! The actual changing of player size in real time was a different experience that has potential!

Interesting concept to split the player's attention between the two games of different sizes!

Neat little scale weighing game!

Coming back to say- I did leave the game open in another tab and kept coming back to play a little bit more, so it definitely has a hook!
