Nice game! I really like the graphics, but i think there is too much going on on the screen, and the enemies often blend with the background, But still i like the story and the gameplay overall! Nice job
We wanted to get a great game out with the core gameplay. The difficulty scales as you get closer to the bottom of the well, so it gets pretty hectic. That is why we didn't want to punish the player too much for colliding with obstacles. You lose a coin instead of starting over. With support, we will have several modes and different gameplay.
This is an amazing game with beautiful pixel art.
Thank you so much! We were working around the clock to make this game great. We have more planned for it, so your support is appreciated!
Gorgeous! (Almost too gorgeous, as being able to spot rocks and enemies feels a bit harder than it should be).
Even though you cut the cutscenes, those images still set up the character and scene beautifully!
Thank you! We tried hard to maintain a consistent art style with a small color palette. Some colors do overlap making the game harder. With support, we will improve on the style and really bring out the obstacles. Your feedback is valuable for our continued improvement.
The pixel art is very high quality, and the game looks great!
We are lucky to have talented artists! They appreciate your compliments!
I don't know how it scaled but I liked it!
We didn't do a good job explaining it, but the difficulty scales with subsequent playthroughs. It also scales as you progress through the level. We are thrilled that you liked it!
that meter on the top right under the coin count, thats your shrink meter. you can scale the player character down to fit through tight spaces
Love the art style and the overall presentation. I'll be honest though, the shrinking feature felt kinda out of place. But still pretty fun!
Thanks! Yeah, shrinking was a feature that was implemented quite late and it might feel out of place. But with so much going on, I doubt the player will have time to feel bored 😹.
Amazing art and fun concept, the gameplay was really fun!! but at least for me the rocks are a little hard to see for the background or im just bad at playing haha
haha... probably the rocks! Thanks for playing!
Is this a reference to Helldivers? All the art was great and the fact that you added an online leaderboard is crazy. My biggest problem was the controls. They felt really floaty. If you were going for realism that would make sense as you are falling down but if you were going for pure arcade-style fun I think it would be better if there was a lot more friction.
Haha, yeah, we ran out of time and made up a name on the fly! We kept flip flopping on if it should feel realistic, or arcade. We do suggest you try it with a controller if possible. Those who have say that is feels really good
yes haha my first thought was something like "well hell" which then made me think of Hell Divers which then made me think of WELL DIVER lol, and we just went with it. yeah i think we need a Little bit of float so its kind of super hard since the gameplay is only around 60 seconds each round and it does feel way better with a controller and dont forget to use your Shrink Meter (upper left) when things get too hectic in the well!
Very fun to play! The debris was hard to see, though. Would be nice if it pop out more.
Thanks for playing, and your feedback! We will have to reconsider how we approach debris if we continue development of this gam
Beautiful art and fun little idea. Unfortunately the enemies are consistently very close to the same colour as the background, so it's quite difficult to see when you're going to run into something that will cause you to take damage. A red outline or a less busy background would help bring some more contrast and ease of play. :)
Good advice! We are going to try the outline, but might need to rework the rocks!
I like the idea, though I feel like the mechanics of falling could've been polished a lot more. The movement was so floaty that it did not feel that great to play, and the stamina meter was very hard to manage in conjunction with it. I do like the direction that the art style is going in though! With a bit more work this would be pretty good I think. Nice work :)
Thanks for the notes! We do need to put this idea back in the oven for some more cook time!
Decent! I liked the concept although it could be a bit jarring with the parallax and the obstacles :)
Thanks! We will give some thought about how to improve those
Fun animations! fun gameplay, but I kinda wished I could hit the rocks like the enemies.
Thanks for playing! Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on a block instead of an attack with regards to the rocks
That could be cool! Maybe it could just push rocks out of the way or somethin
Super fun and what great music! You really nailed the falling animations and the parallax was brilliant
Thank you very much!
Well, well... what a fun submission! Good choice of music too :))
We are happy that you enjoyed it :)
it like downwell + bullet hell vibes
I think it would be better if the steering had no inertia.
Those are the vibes we tried for, and we will experiment with the controls to try and improve them!
Fun submission! I really like the art work, though sometimes it was hard to tell obstacles from the background. I think some stronger outlines around sprites would help there.
I also found myself not using the shrink ability all that much, maybe that was because the game was pretty hectic right from the beginning.
Also the music was really well done! It got my in the epic fantasy mood haha
Sadly, the shrink ability was added very late, so we didn't really get much time to play with it before we had to submit. We will certainly reconsider the mechanic
It is hard to remember to shrink with so many things going on. If you can master that, you will have us all beat.
