How does your game fit the theme?
Well, you see, dragons have scales. And you’re building scales to order! You then have to scale the scales so they fit the scales!

This is my best with hints. Very interesting mechanic! image.png

Really loved the interpretation of the theme and the atmosphere!
Most of the fonts are quite difficult to read though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yeah that definitely is the most common piece of feedback I've got

Fantastic idea, well put together the built to scale theme!

Developer

Thank you so much and thanks for playing!

very fun concept! gameplay was pretty solid. the text was a little uncomfortable to read though. the black letter style mixed with pixel art (which was a little blurry; i think the filter setting was bilinear) was not a great combination. otherwise the art was very pretty.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah it seems to be the most common thing. Ideally I should have put some accessibility options in to change the font 😅

I really like you take on the blacksmithing game. It fits the theme very well, congrats!

Developer

Thank you! I was going for a Fantasy Life / Weapon Shoppe De Omasse vibe

Developer

Thank you fellow goblin enjoyer! Check the credits for the pixel art UI, they do some fantastic work and I habe to give them credit for the colour pallet

Amazing game... loved how you took a input mechanic and really levelled it up a nice pacing, juice and sound effects. Well done!

Do checkout our dragon scales themed game too ;)

Developer

Thank you! I really enjoyed Dragon Scales!

Awesome entry, we loved the color palette and the art style. Also the effects where giving really nice touch. The music and sound effects where fitting perfectly. Only the font in the game was a little bit hard to read!

Developer

Thanks!! It took me a while to find the right "Ding" for the anvil haha
I agree on the font choice, TBH i didn't put as much time into that as i did the sfx

Thank you so much for the feedback and for playing!

Haha I love your twist on the theme! Love the Dragon Drive-Thru idea and forging dragon scales for injured dragons was really wholesome. I also really loved the mechanics of the game and I had a lot of fun playing! Keep up the good work!!

Developer

Thank you so much! :D

Really unique game! I like how you're actually building scales haha

Developer

Thanks! and thanks for playing :D

This was really charming - building and scaling scales is a novel and definitely thorough use of the theme! Adjusting the scale of the scales was surprisingly tricky with the time pressure factored in, which was a lot of fun :)

Would agree with the other comment that the hammer section having a set duration felt a bit limiting, my thought would be perhaps if perfect swings reduced the number of swings required?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I added a little tip to let ppl know you can hammer more than once when the timing is right, but yeah if I ever revisit this game I'll definitely add a lower pressure mode so people can take it easy. I had this idea that because it's a game jam people wouldn't have much time to play each game so I intentionally made it very short

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this was a lot of fun! Great job :)

Thank you!! Thanks for playing! <3

Very cute and unique game! I think I might not have many brain cells because it took me a moment to realize that the scale needed to match the scales on the left side. I think because most of the gameplay is on the right side, so it didn't occur to me to look on the other side lol. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah haha, i guess i didn't make it clear that there's stuff going on the left side. Thanks for playing <3

Love it! My only critique is that the initial hammer swinging minigame is timing based and takes quite a while, meaning you can only ever make a maximum of 3-4 scales per round. I would also love to see more longer timers per round, as an option at least. Ooh ooh! Or better yet an endless mode where you go until you make a wonky scale!

Anyway, fun, well-explained, very creative, charming style,  and it works perfectly! Feels like a main mechanic in a medieval-fantasy farm sim :)

Developer

Thank you so much! Those are really fun ideas, I might come back to this after the jam :D
