Love the pico-8 engine and the option to add a silly hat is peak game design. Originally I thought you had to collect the flowers but then I read the description and realized the point was to escape. This is a very cute puzzle platformer and I think some music or SFX would be appreciated. But overall great entry!

there was music and sound effects, did you not hear them?

either way, appreciate the nice words!!

I replayed it now and I can hear it! For some reason by default it was mute? I probably muted a pico-8 game before so the settings stayed. Thanks for letting me know :)

Beat it in about 4 minutes. Nice and simple execution on a 2 scale platformer.

Much respect for working in pico-8! The level design was well executed, there were some nice little challenges without being enough to bail, and the cross-overs were a very neat touch to keep interest up. Nice work!

Nice! I like the puzzles.

Quite a satisfying little puzzle platformer. I always enjoy this style of map/maze where different screens are accessed through different routes. Nicely contained and cute! I thought the mechanics of advantage/disadvantage of each character were well-balanced in the puzzles, too. Great job!

Lovely puzzle. Fun interpretations of the posibilities and limitations of big fren and smol fren. You have a great little level with music, art and controls. All I can say is FREN!

DeveloperSubmitted

fren indeed!! glad you enjoyed it!

I like the art, and the music is alright, the platforming was good too. still kinda boring, but good job!

Nice level design. Bonus marks for the silly hat :)

DeveloperSubmitted

i was wondering if anyone would find the silly hat!

Nice music and cute character design!

I love the creativity of the jumps in this game. Like how, moving back one, up one creates a jump that you can't reach from down one, forward one. It was a lot of fun, and from experience, a lot easier to program. ;)

Pico-Pals!

glad you liked it!
wow, i say that a lot, huh

Lovely experience! Had fun with this one!

Nice to see a Pico-8 game! I liked the extra interactions from the player resizing, like falling through clouds when big. The cross-screen jumps were fun too.

DeveloperSubmitted

glad you liked it! fun fact, the clouds were originally going to be sorta like a death-plane when youre small in case you miss a jump, so that way you wouldnt have to backtrack and try again, but then i was reccomended to make them solid, and that turned out way better!
and yeah, i use pico 8 a lot! just wait till i publish one of my picotron projects, theyre gonna be much bigger >:)

Really cool game! i love the way the level is designed :)

DeveloperSubmitted

thank you! making the level was most of the development time so im glad you liked it

Cute little game! It was easy to pick up what to do. I did feel like the puzzles relied on remembering where I had just been which was a little difficult. I'd be interested to see it with more puzzle elements that could be solved within one screen.

DeveloperSubmitted

i hoped that with the smallness of the map it wouldnt be too hard to figure out what to do
glad you liked it tho!
